Definitions
- the invention relates to an electric field device having a microprocessor-controlled control device, a device-internal data memory assigned to the control device and a data interface connected to the control device.
- Such a field device is known, for example, from the Siemens manual "SIPROTEC, distance protection 7SA6, V4.3", order No. C53000-G1100-C156-3, since the known device manual is particularly referred to in the section
- an electric field device in the form of a digital distance protection device which has a microprocessor system as a control device.
- This microprocessor system is at least one memory block for storing certain data of the field device, such as fault values and accident data, assigned Interfaces, which are arranged, for example, on the front cap of the known field device, can be communicated between the control device of the field device and another data processing device, such as a portable computer (laptop) or a control and Leitein ⁇ direction in a remote control room.
- a cable connection between the serial interface of the electric field device and the further veratbei- device is required.
- the invention is based on the object, such a field device in such a way that an exchange of external data with the field device in an easy-to-use manner is possible.
- a passive data storage module is understood to mean a component which can not independently perform read and write operations in its memory area, but can be controlled only in conjunction with an active component (eg, a field device or a data processing device).
- an active component eg, a field device or a data processing device.
- the transmitted data may be, for example, parameterization data for the field device or accident data recorded by the field device.
- it is therefore not necessary to connect a comparatively large and possibly also expensive further data processing device for data exchange via cable lines directly to the field device.
- the corresponding data can be simply transported via the external passive data storage module between the field device and a relatively inexpensive immobile data processing device, such as a conventional desktop PC, with a corresponding data interface.
- the same parameterization data can be loaded onto different field devices one after the other in an easy-to-use manner Incident data of several field devices are transmitted to the external passive data storage module and stored there.
- the data interface is arranged in a housing receiving the field device. In this way, easy accessibility of the data interface is ensured without the field device would have to be opened.
- the data interface is arranged in a control panel arranged at the front of the field device.
- the data interface is arranged in a rear wall of the electric field device.
- USB technology is now inexpensive and widely used and handy portable data storage modules with large storage capacity in the form of so-called USB sticks, it is considered a particularly advantageous embodiment of the field device according to the invention, if the ⁇ interface is designed according to a USB interface ,
- the data interface is designed according to an interface for a digital memory card.
- digital memory cards for example in the form of so-called SD cards (Secure Digital), Compact Flash cards, Smart Media cards or memory sticks, such as If, for example, they are widely used in the field of digital photo cameras, they can advantageously be used as external passive data storage modules due to their manageability and comparatively low cost of ownership with a high storage capacity.
- Data storage module solved, either the data from one of the controller associated device internal data memory read by the controller and transmitted to the data interface connected to the external passive data storage module or read the data from the data interface interface connected to the external passive data storage module by the controller and be transferred to the device internal data memory.
- Field device and another data processing device necessary because the parameterization data are only transferred to the external passive data storage module. From there they can be sent to any data processing device with appropriate interface, e.g. a conventional PC, or also provided with a corresponding data interface e- lectric field device are transmitted.
- any data processing device with appropriate interface e.g. a conventional PC, or also provided with a corresponding data interface e- lectric field device are transmitted.
- the control device checks the data interface for whether the external passive data storage module is connected to it, and for external passive data storage connected to the data interface. At least selected data between the external passive data storage module and the device-internal ⁇ memory are transmitted. In this way, namely without any further operating steps on the part of the operating personnel, for example, the parameterization data required for the device can be automatically transmitted to the device-internal data memory or data recorded in the device-internal data memory, such as accident data, can be transmitted automatically to the externally passive data storage module.
- FIG. 1 highly schematically shows an electric field device with a data interface and an external passive data storage module and in FIG.
- Figure 2 is a simplified view of an electric field device in three-dimensional view
- FIG. 1 shows a field device 1 with a control device 2 controlled by a microprocessor 9, which is connected via an internal data bus 3 to a device-internal data memory 4.
- the device-internal data memory 4 can also be integrated in the control device 2.
- the control device 2 is also connected via a further data bus 5 to a data interface 6, for example a USB interface.
- An external passive data storage module 7, for example a USB stick, is inserted into the data interface 6, which is shown in hatched form in FIG. 1.
- a memory controller 8 is provided, which is integrated in Figure 1 in the control device 2.
- the memory controller 8 could also be arranged outside the control device 2, for example in the immediate vicinity of the data interface 6, and be connected to the control device 2 via a data bus.
- the field device 1 may be, for example, an electrical protection device or a so-called power quality device for electrical energy supply networks. Such field devices must be configured with special settings (parameters) to perform their desired tasks.
- a so-called parameter set that is to say a file which contains the corresponding setting values or parameters, is to be transmitted to the electric field device 1.
- this can be done in particular by the uploading of a parameter set generated outside the field device, for example with a parameterization software on a desktop PC.
- different files are stored in the memory device 4 of the field device 1 during operation of the field device.
- This may be, for example, courses of measured values of the energy supply network recorded with the field device 1 both during normal operation and during an accident (so-called accident data), messages and alarms that have been generated by the electric field device, or the current act in the respective field device 1 valid parameter set.
- accident data courses of measured values of the energy supply network recorded with the field device 1 both during normal operation and during an accident
- Such data collectively referred to as operating data, can often have a large storage requirement.
- Parameterizing and operating data can be transmitted in a simple manner between the external data storage module 7 and the device-internal data memory 4 assigned to the control device 2.
- the external passive data storage module 7 is introduced into the data interface 6 of the field device, so that an electrical connection between the external data storage module 7 and the data interface 6 is formed.
- any desired data can now be transmitted via the data bus 5 and the data bus 3 between the external passive data memory module 7 and the device-internal data memory 4.
- a parameter set generated on a remote computer which is stored on the external passive data storage module 7, can be transmitted to the device-internal data memory 4 of the field device 1 by the controller 2 reading out the parameter set from the external passive data storage module 7 by means of the memory controller 8 the device-internal data memory 4 copied. Thereafter, the parameters contained in the parameter set can be used as setting values for the control device 2 of the electric field device 1.
- any number of field devices which, like the field device 1, are provided with a corresponding data interface 6, can in this way also be provided in a simple manner with the same parameter set.
- the reading of stored on the device-internal data memory 4 of the field device 1 operating data takes place in principle in the reverse direction.
- the control device 2 reads the corresponding data from the device-internal data memory 4 and transmits them to the external data memory module 7 inserted in the data interface 6.
- the data can then be easily retrieved using the external data memory module 7 Any further data processing devices, for example PCs for evaluation, are made available. Due to the high transmission speed via the data interface 6, even large amounts of data can be transmitted quickly in this way. This is particularly advantageous in the case of field devices not connected to a process bus for data transmission or in field devices with only a comparatively slow data connection (eg via a modem and an analog telephone line).
- the external passive data storage module 7 is a USB stick and the data interface 6 is a USB interface
- the USB stick is technically a so-called USB slave
- the control device of the field device 1 is a so-called USB slave USB host represents.
- the data storage module 7 is, for example, a digital memory card which is frequently used today in digital photography, the method is carried out in a corresponding manner with the respective memory controller.
- the control device 2 automatically checks whether an external passive data storage module 7 has been inserted into the data interface 6. For example, the control device 2 can interrogate the data interface 6 at regular intervals. If it receives an answer, then an external passive data storage module 7 is inserted.
- the field device 1 automatically transmits accident data stored in the device-internal data memory 4 to the external passive data storage module 7.
- a parameter set present on the external passive data storage module 7 is automatically transmitted to the device-internal data memory 4 in this way. In this case, no additional operator action is necessary on the field device 1 on the part of the operating personnel. A data transfer takes place in this case, namely fully automatically. Which data is to be transmitted in this way can be preset in the configuration of the electric field device 1.
- passive data storage modules and interfaces which are common in PC technology has the advantage that it is not necessary to use specially trained specialist personnel to transfer the data between the external data storage module and the control device of the field device.
- Such external passive data storage modules are also easy to handle and transport due to their small size.
- FIG. 2 shows in a three-dimensional view a simplified field device 1 with a device housing 20 which has a front wall 21 and a rear wall not visible in FIG.
- a data interface 6 into which an external passive data storage module 7, as indicated by arrow 27, can be inserted, is integrated into the front panel 21.
- the data interface 6 could also be contained in the rear wall of the electric field device 1 or a side wall of the field device 1 be. In the case of several electrical field devices arranged side by side, it makes sense to provide either the front or the rear wall of the electric field device 1 for the data interface 6, so that it is not covered by another electric field device.
- a cover for the data interface 6, not shown in FIG. 2 can furthermore be provided. This can be fastened, for example hingedly or pivotally on the housing 20 of the field device 1 be ⁇ or made removable from the housing 20 and cover this when not in use the data interface 6.
