Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of supercharged internal combustion engines. It relates to an exhaust gas turbocharger and a system of internal combustion engine and exhaust gas turbocharger with a device for reducing vibrations.
- Internal combustion engine and exhaust gas turbocharger systems have structural natural frequencies, which are excited by the ignition frequency of the engine and / or multiples of the rated engine speed, depending on their type of installation. If such resonances are within the operating range of the engine, the engine with the exhaust gas turbocharger can vibrate to an unduly high degree.
- the resonance can be shifted away from the speed by changing the system stiffness or structural natural frequency.
- multiple resonances may be within the intended operating range. Then often occur high vibrations, which can lead to a reduction in the service life of individual components or the entire system.
- the invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a system of internal combustion engine and exhaust gas turbocharger or an exhaust gas turbocharger for such a system in which the internal combustion engine can be operated in the entire available speed range without resulting in the life of individual components or the resulting oscillations to reduce the whole system.
- the vibration damper and / or the vibration damper is attached to an exposed, strongly vibrating point of the system. Since there the vibrations are strongest and thus the vibration reducing agents can be used most effectively.
- the exhaust gas turbocharger is usually attached to an exposed position on the internal combustion engine, it is particularly effective to attach the vibration reducing means on the exhaust gas turbocharger, for example on the filter muffler air inlet side of the compressor housing.
- the damper or vibration absorber should act primarily in the main vibration direction of the eigenmodes of the lowest natural frequencies of the engine turbocharger system, d. H. usually in the direction of the turbocharger axis and transverse (horizontal) to it.
- the turbocharger is usually mounted on a console above the engine or at the front of the engine in an exposed position. Through this exposed position he experiences the strongest vibrations and is therefore most suitable for the attachment of vibration dampers and vibration absorbers.
- the mass of the vibration absorber is around 5 - 10% of the turbocharger weight. In this way, a balance is created between the damper force to be achieved and the additional weight which the loader must endure mechanically.
- the damping is achieved by the damping properties of the attachment or with a separate damper.
- components of the turbocharger can be used as a vibration damper or vibration.
- a decoupled filter silencer can be used as absorber mass, while on the attachment of the filter silencer to the compressor housing damping can be achieved.
- the absorber mass consists of a loose bulk material and is arranged in a corresponding container.
- This space may be formed in a rigidly mounted tank as an additional component in the internal combustion engine and exhaust gas turbocharger system or as an integral part in a housing cavity on the turbocharger, console or engine.
- the vibration damper is attached to a strong oscillating part of the turbocharger and rigidly connected to the engine block, console or an external attachment point.
- the dampers must be designed for a relatively high natural frequency (10 - 100 Hz) and small vibration amplitudes (0.1 - 2 mm).
- the vibration damper and damper can be mounted on all turbocharger housings, on the console or on external parts of the engine block. Since the temperatures at the gas inlet or gas outlet are high and the parts can be damaged, vibration dampers and silencers should be fitted to the bearing housing, compressor housing, filter silencer or on turbochargers without filter silencer on the intake manifold.
- the filter silencer itself can also be mounted as a vibration damper, with a damping can be achieved via the connection to the compressor housing.
- Fig. 1 shows an exhaust gas turbocharger, as it is attached to an internal combustion engine, wherein in the figure, only the outer housing parts and the connecting flanges for the leads to the engine can be seen.
- the air for the internal combustion engine is sucked in via a filter silencer 5 and guided in the compressor housing 1 to the rotating compressor wheel.
- the compressor wheel is attached to one end of a shaft, which is rotatably mounted in the bearing housing 4. At the other end of the shaft, the turbine wheel is attached.
- the turbine housing comprises two parts, the gas inlet housing 2 with the supply of hot exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine, and the gas outlet housing 3 with the outlet flange for connecting the exhaust system.
- the turbocharger is connected to the bearing housing or to a part of the turbine housing with the internal combustion engine.
- the Exhaust gas turbocharger with a second support be supported in the region of the filter muffler in addition.
- the internal combustion engine to a vibration damper 6, which is attached to the filter muffler of the exhaust gas turbocharger and whose mass is arranged as loose bulk material in a container.
- a vibration damper / damper can also be mounted on another housing of the exhaust gas turbocharger or it can be integrated in the housing of the exhaust gas turbocharger or itself be a part of this housing.
- the vibration damper with a first support on the bearing housing and with a second support on the flange connection between the compressor housing and the filter muffler be attached.
- the additional attachment serves to connect the vibration damper / damper as stiff as possible to the turbocharger, so that the vibrations are transmitted as directly as possible to the vibration damper.
- Fig. 1 an additional vibration damper 7 is shown, which is firmly connected to the filter muffler 5 and a corresponding support (eg console, engine block or external framework).
- the additional vibration damper dampens the oscillating filter silencer optimally (highest amplitude position), especially when the support 8 is very stiff.
- Fig. 2 shows a vibration damper 9 which is fixed to the bearing housing. The damping takes place via the material damping of the attachment (multi-layered material with damping intermediate layers) or through a separate vibration damper.
Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
- Rechts unten in
