Abstract

The panel has a central plate (1) made of melamine foam, and outer plates (2, 3) spaced apart by spacers (4, 5) to form air sheets. The spacers are constituted by a knitted element which is an embossed aluminum wire knit. The embossing is inclined at 45 degrees with respect to two opposite edges of the spacers. The outer plates (2, 3) can be made of glass fiber/epoxy composite.

Description

The present invention relates to an acoustic panel type air knife in which a spacer (or more spacers) maintains separate two plates (or more plates).

It is known that the effectiveness of an absorbent such as a porous material is increased if an air gap is created especially between it and the wall that receives an acoustic excitation.

The problem is to have a spacer whose mass is reduced and which has sufficient mechanical strength to ensure a good separation of the walls while having a reduced contact surface with the plates to minimize acoustic and possibly thermal transfers between the plaques.

The invention thus relates to an acoustic panel having at least two plates, and at least one spacer for keeping said two plates separate to form at least one air gap, characterized in that said spacer is constituted by a knitted element or woven which has an embossing.

The embossing may be inclined, for example 45 °, with respect to two opposite edges of the spacer.

The embossing can be advantageously carried out in two dimensions.

The knitted or woven element may be in the form of a sleeve. This can be laid flat so as to have two superimposed embossed thicknesses. Alternatively, the sleeve constituting the knitted or woven element forms a net in which is disposed a said plate, for example a central plate disposed between two external plates, which defines two spacers and two blades of air.

The knitted or woven element is advantageously an embossed fabric of metal wire, in particular of aluminum.

In the case where the acoustic panel is characterized by the presence of a central plate and two external plates separated by said spacer, it is advantageous that the central plate is constituted by a foam, preferably a melamine foam and / or by the low density wool in an aramid fiber casing.

The two outer plates may be an epoxy / fiberglass composite.

Other features and advantages of the invention will appear better on reading the description below, in conjunction with the drawings in which:
  • Figures 1 and 2 respectively show a sectional view of an acoustic panel according to one embodiment of the invention and a view of a spacer according to one embodiment of the invention.
  • Figure 3 illustrates the advantage of the spacer device over a panel without an air gap.

The acoustic panel shown in Figure 1 comprises a central panel 1 of melamine foam, for example 5 mm thick, and two outer plates 2 and 3 epoxy composite / glass fiber 5 ply. The spacers 4 and 5 are formed of an embossed knit of aluminum wire. This is a laminated thread of diameter 0.37 mm which is then knitted and then embossed so as to give it a thickness for example of 2 to 4 mm.

The acoustic panel thus formed has a total thickness of about 15 mm.

Figure 2 shows a detail view of the embossed knit. The shape of the mesh is not important: it is the embossing that minimizes the contact between the outer plate 2 or 3 and the central plate 1 which provides sound insulation. Indeed, the corrugations that constitute the embossing effect an almost point contact between the wire and the plates.

The material constituting the knit or the fabric is chosen according to the particular environmental constraints of the application envisaged, but the material must be such as to allow a mechanical deformation to cold or hot. We can choose for example a metal material or a plastic material, especially thermoplastic.

A knit thus produced makes it possible to ensure good spacing of the walls while the spacer remains flexible enough to follow the possible rounded contours of the acoustic panel.

Aluminum also has the combined advantage of good rigidity for a relatively low mass, as well as flammability.

The spacer according to the invention avoids the contact between the inner walls of the plates 2 and 3 and the walls of the central panel.

The use of a metal, and in particular of a thin mesh (for example, the order of a few mm), allows resistance to a non-rasping incidence flame.

It is also possible not to perform bonding, in which case the sandwich can be held on the periphery of the outer plates 2 and 3.

The central plate 1 can also be made of a particularly low density glass wool, optionally contained in a thin envelope of aramid fibers ("Mylar").

Curve A illustrates the case of the panel of FIG. 1 (outer plates 2 and 3, made of epoxy / fiberglass composite, central plate 1 made of melamine foam and spacers 4 and 5 made of embossed knit of aluminum wire), while that the curve B illustrates the case of the panel of Figure 1, but in the absence of spacer (panels 1, 2 and 3 coming edge to edge).

On constate une amélioration de l'amortissement au-delà d'un certaine fréquence (ici 800 Hz) et en particulier la suppression de la région où l'amortissement diminue jusqu'à un point bas situé ici à 2000 Hz.There is an improvement in the damping beyond a certain frequency (here 800 Hz) and in particular the suppression of the region where the damping decreases to a low point located here at 2000 Hz.

The acoustic panel shown in Figure 1 (outer plates 2 and 3 made of epoxy / fiberglass composite, central plate 1 of melamine foam, and spacers 4 and 5 embossed knit of aluminum wire), allows to pass the test FA 25-863 (application for 12 s of a flame on the edge of the panel). Melamine foam has a very good fire resistance, as well as the fiberglass / epoxy composite and the embossed knit of aluminum wire, and the blades of air on both sides promote cooling.
