Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe besteht die erfindungsgemäße Abdeckung im Wesentlichen darin, dass ein mittlerer zur Trogschwelle offener tunnelförmiger Deckel mit im Wesentlichen U-förmigem Querschnitt vorgesehen ist, dessen axiale Länge in Richtung der Trogschwelle so bemessen ist, dass eine Kollision mit verschiebbaren Weichenteilen, insbesondere Zungen, vermieden wird, und dass mit verschiebbaren Weichenteilen in Verschieberichtung derselben gekuppelte Abdeckkappen vorgesehen sind, welche den mittleren tunnelförmigen Deckel über- oder unter greifen und an diesem verschieblich geführt sind. Dadurch, dass ein mittlerer zur Trogfläche offener tunnelförmiger Deckel vorgesehen ist, wird zunächst aufgrund der Profilform bzw. der Tunnelbauweise ein hohes Maß an Stabilität sichergestellt, wobei der im wesentlichen U-förmige Querschnitt so ausgebildet werden kann, dass die Breite der Schwelle an keiner Stelle überschritten wird, um eine sichere Auflage des U-Profils auf der Trogschwelle zu gewährleisten und gleichzeitig sicherzustellen, dass Kollisionen mit Stopfarmen bei einem Nachstopfvorgang vermieden werden.
