Claims (11)

  1. A deployable boarding ramp for local public transport vehicles, with an extension plate (2) adapted for deployment and retraction by means of a drive device, said extension plate being disposed in the vehicle boarding area and guided in a closed housing (1), the rear end of said extension plate being fastened through at least one double hinge (10) to a transport element guided in said housing (1) for displacement in the deployment direction by said drive device and extending over the entire width of said housing, characterized in that at least one support element (12) supporting the extension plate (2) on its underside by means of a supporting surface is disposed at the front end of said housing (1) and that the length of the double hinge (10) is dimensioned such that, in the retracted condition of said extension plate (2) and during a first phase of the deploying movement of said extension plate (2), the center of gravity (S) of said extension plate (2) lies inside said support element (12) so that, by virtue of a tilting moment generated, the underside of said extension plate (2) is lower than said supporting surface inside said support element (12), and that, in the first phase of the deployment movement, said extension plate (2) is deployed pointing upward at a given acute angle whilst in a second phase of the deployment movement in which the center of gravity (S) of the extension plate lies outside said support element (12) the rear end of said extension plate (2) is raised by an opposite tilting moment.
  2. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 1, characterized in that the support element (12) is configured to be a support strip extending over the entire width of the extension plate (2).
  3. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the transport element is configured to be a closed rectangular frame (3) with a front crossbeam (3.1) and a rear crossbeam (3.2) and with two side beams (3.3, 3.4) and that the drive device (4, 4') is disposed inside said frame (3).
  4. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 3, characterized in that the drive device comprises at least one pneumatic cylinder (4'), said cylinder extending in the longitudinal direction of the housing and being fixedly connected to the housing floor (1.1), and the piston of the pneumatic cylinder being connected to the front crossbeam (3.1) of the frame (3) via a piston rod (4.1').
  5. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 4, characterized in that the drive device comprises a pneumatic cylinder (4') that is substantially disposed on the longitudinal central axis of the housing (1).
  6. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 3, characterized in that the drive device comprises an electric gear motor (4) the driven pinion of which engages a toothed rack (4.1) fixedly connected to the frame (3) and extending in the longitudinal direction.
  7. The boarding ramp as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 6, characterized in that the extension plate (2) is pivotally fastened to the front crossbeam (3.1) through the double hinge (10).
  8. The boarding ramp as set forth in any one of the claims 1 through 7, characterized in that the housing (1) is integrated in such a manner in the underframe of the vehicle that the housing cover plate (1.2) forms a part of the vehicle floor in the boarding area.
  9. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 3 and, if applicable, in any one of the claims 4 through 8, characterized in that support elements (5) are disposed inside the frame (3) on either side of the drive device (4, 4'), between the housing cover plate (1.2) and the housing floor (1.1).
  10. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 3 and, if applicable, in any one of the claims 4 through 9, characterized in that locking units (6.1, 6.2) and/or end switches (7.1, 7.2, 7.3) for fixing the end positions and for detecting the positions of the frame (3) and of the extension plate (2) or for controlling the drive device are disposed inside said frame (3).
  11. The boarding ramp as set forth in claim 3 and, if applicable, in any one of the claims 4 through 10, characterized in that the side beams (3.3, 3.4) of the frame (3) are guided in guide rails (8.1, 8.2) disposed in the housing (1).
