Claims (20)

  1. Method of operating a web-processing machine with an arrangement of process elements, which are driven by means of drives (11), for transport and/or processing a web of continuous material, wherein the speeds of at least a part of the drives (11) are modulated in each instance at a predetermined modulation frequency, characterised in that changes, which are caused by the modulations, of influencing magnitudes of the drives (11) are detected for determination of process magnitudes of the web-processing machine.
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that the torque of at least one drive (11) is measured as influencing magnitude.
  3. Method according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the position and/or the rotational speed of at least one drive (11) is or are measured as influencing magnitudes.
  4. Method according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the measurement of an influencing magnitude takes place at the frequency and phase position of the modulation of the speed of the respective drive (11).
  5. Method according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the amplitudes and modulation frequencies of the speed modulations are selected to be of such a size that the transport and/or processing processes carried out by the process elements remain unimpaired.
  6. Method according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the speed modulations are repeated at predetermined intervals in time and that the results, which are obtained with the individual modulations, for the influencing magnitudes are integrated.
  7. Method according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the speeds of all drives (11) of the web-processing machine are modulated.
  8. Method according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the speed of an individual drive (11) or the speeds of a group of drives (11) is or are modulated.
  9. Method according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the speeds of all drives (11) of the web-processing machine are modulated in alternation and, offset in time relative thereto, the speed of a drive (11) or the speeds of a group of drives (11) is or are modulated.
  10. Method according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the speeds of all drives (11) of the web-processing machine are modulated simultaneously at a first modulation frequency and the speed of a drive (11) or the speeds of a group of drives (11) is or are modulated at a second modulation frequency.
  11. Method according to one of claims 7 to 10, characterised in that in the modulation of the speeds of drives (11) of the web-processing machine the torques of all drives (11) are measured as influencing magnitudes.
  12. Method according to one of claims 8 to 10, characterised in that in the modulation of the speeds of individual drives (11) the positions and/or rotational speeds of the drives (11), the speeds of which are not modulated, are measured as influencing magnitudes.
  13. Method according to one of claims 9 to 12, characterised in that first measurement results obtained in the modulation of the speeds of all drives (11) are correlated with second measurement results which are obtained in the modulation of the speeds of individual drives (11) performed simultaneously or in alternation.
  14. Method according to claim 13, characterised in that the differences of the first and second measurement results are formed.
  15. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a web-processing machine constructed as a printing machine (1, 1').
  16. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a web-processing machine constructed as a film stretching plant.
  17. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a machine for producing paper or cardboard.
  18. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a reel cutter.
  19. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a machine for producing or processing knitwear.
  20. Method according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that this is used in a straightening plant for straightening plates.
