Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a detent escapement for a timepiece comprising an escape wheel provided with teeth, a balance wheel on which axis is fixed at least one plate comprising a pulse pallet and in the circular periphery of which is practiced a notch, and a blocker in the form of a rocker hinged on an axis, this blocker carrying means for blocking the escape wheel, a control finger and a probe terminated by a spout arranged to cooperate with the notch of said at least one a tray.
  • the main object of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the abovementioned prior art by providing a detent escapement having improved impact resistance enabling it to be easily integrated into a wristwatch.
  • the subject of the present invention is a detent escapement for a timepiece comprising an escape wheel provided with teeth, a balance wheel on the axis of which is fixed at least one plate comprising a pulse pallet and in the circular circumference which is practiced a notch, and a blocker in the form of a rocker articulated on an axis, this blocker carrying means for blocking the escape wheel, a control finger and a probe terminated by a spout arranged to cooperate with the notch of said plate, said plate further comprising a safety finger arranged to cooperate with the teeth of the escape wheel and block the latter when the pulse pallet is released accidentally from the toothing of the escape wheel.
  • the safety finger is interposed in the path of the wheel of exhaust for block his race. This avoids any accidental release of said wheel and thereby any risk of damage to the drive mechanism and exhaust of the watch.
  • the safety pin is placed at an angular distance ⁇ of the pulse pallet less than or equal to 40 °, preferably between 30 and 40 ° and even more preferably from the order of 35 °. Indeed, it will be readily understood that if the angular space between the pulse pallet and the safety pin is too small or too large, the tooth of the escape wheel will not be intercepted.
  • the accompanying figures illustrate the escapement relaxation object of the present invention. It comprises an escape wheel 2 provided with teeth 3. Without being shown, the wheel 2 is driven by the wheel of the timepiece which receives its driving force from a barrel. Trays 1 are mounted on the axis 16 of a pendulum not shown in the figures. These plates 1 comprise a large plate 4 equipped with a pulse pallet 5 and a small plate 23 provided with a circular periphery 24 in which is made a notch 22 having a rising edge 25. A first actuating finger 14 overcomes The figures show that this finger 14 emerges from a disk 75 sandwiched between the plates 4 and 23.
  • the exhaust further comprises a blocker 6 in the form of a rocker articulated on an axis 8.
  • the blocker 6 comprises first and second parts connected firmly by the axis 8.
  • the figures show that the first part comprises locking means 80 cooperating with the teeth 3 of the escape wheel 2 and that the second part comprises a second actuating finger 11 arranged to cooperate with the first finger 14, and a probe 20 terminated by a beak 21 arranged to cooperate with the rising edge 25 of the cut 22 made in the small plate 23.
  • one of the trays further comprises a safety pin 95 arranged to cooperate with the teeth 3 of the escape wheel 2 and block the latter when the pulse pallet 5 is disengaged by accident. the teeth of the escape wheel 2.
  • the radius connecting the center 16 of the plates 1 to the safety pin 95 and the radius connecting the same center to the top of the pulse pallet 5 form an angle ⁇ of between 30 ° and 40 ° ° to ensure a good interception of the teeth of the wheel in case of accidental reversal of the trays.
  • the first and second actuating fingers 14 and 11 are fixed respectively to the large plate 4 and to the blocker 6 and are arranged to cooperate with each other in such a way that when the plates 1 rotate in a first direction, the first finger 14 causes the second finger 11 to disengage the locking means 80 of the escape wheel 2, the nose 21 of the probe 20 being then driven by the rising edge 25 of the notch 22 to re-engage the locking means in the wheel of exhaust, and such that when the plates 1 rotate in a second direction, opposite the first, the first finger 14 drives the second 11 to maintain the blocking means 80 engaged in the escape wheel 2.
  • the locking means 80 have first and second pallets 50 and 51 arranged next to each other. These pallets respectively have first and second rest planes 34 and 35. These rest planes are inclined relative to each other to form a rest line 36.
  • the first plane 34 intercepts a tooth 62 of the wheel 2 when the probe 20 is driven by the rising edge 25 of the notch 22, the trays 1 rotating in a first direction. Following this tooth 62 comes to rest on the line of rest 35.
  • the second plane 35 is then scaled by the same tooth 62 when the first finger 14 drives the second finger 11, the plates 1 rotating in a second direction. Finally tooth 62 returns to the line of rest 35 when the second finger leaves the first.
  • the end of the release is shown in figure 3 .
  • the trays 4 and 23 always rotating in the direction of the arrow a, the finger 14 drives the finger 11 by tilting the blocker 6 in the direction of the arrow f which releases the pallets 50 and 51 of the tooth 60 by printing to the wheel 2 a slight backward movement in the direction of the arrow g.
  • the nozzle 21 of the probe 20 begins to penetrate the notch 22 of the small plate 23.
  • the beginning of the impulse is presented in figure 4 .
  • the wheel 2, released from the pallets 50 and 51, begins to rotate in the direction of the arrow e, it is moved by the driving force imparted to the wheel by the barrel.
  • the tooth 61 of the wheel 2 meets the pulse pallet 5 equipping the large plate 4 and restarts the plates 1 in the direction of the arrow a.
  • the wheel 2 continues to rotate in the direction of the arrow e and continues to drive the trays 1 by action of the tooth 61 on the pulse pallet 5 until the tip 21 of the probe 20 comes into contact with the rising edge 25 of the small plate 23. From this moment the blocker 6 is driven in the direction of the arrow h.
  • the figure 7 Illustrates the end of the impulse of the tooth 61 on the pallet 5.
  • the spout 21 has exceeded the rising edge 25 of the notch 22 made in the small plate 23 and is then resting on the circular periphery 24 of this small plate.
  • Blocker 6 continues to be driven in the direction of arrow h and arrives at the end of return.
  • the tooth 62, driven in the direction of the arrow e is about to be intercepted by the locking means 80.
  • the figure 8 shows the rest taking.
  • the tooth 62 bears against the first rest plane 34 of the first rest pallet 50.
  • the figure 9 shows the total rest of the tooth 62 against the blocking means constituted here of the first and second pallets of rest 50 and 51.
  • the tip of the tooth 62 pushed by the kinetic energy of the wheel 2, is housed on the line resting member 36 formed by the inclination of the first and second resting planes 34 and 35 respectively belonging to the first and second rest pallets 50 and 51. This is the pulling effect well known to watchmakers.
  • the tooth 62 is thus housed on the rest line 36, the second rest plane 35 standing in front of this tooth and preventing it from continuing on its way.
  • the figure 9 shows again that the spout 21 of the probe 20 has taken off from the circular periphery 24 of the small plate 23 allowing the pendulum full freedom to traverse its supplementary arc and complete its first alternation in the direction shown by the arrow a.
  • the exhaust is resistant to shocks that could affect the timepiece. Indeed, a shock would abut the beak 21 against the periphery 24 of the small plate 23 without resulting in a release of the pallets 50 and 51, the return of the tooth 62 on the line of rest 36 operating immediately through in the draw cited above.
  • FIGS. 14 to 17 are plan views explaining the operating phases of the escapement illustrated in figure 1 in the case of a shock applied to the timepiece.
  • the figure 14 is identical to the figure 4 and illustrates the beginning of the impulse.
  • the wheel 2, released from the pallets 50 and 51 starts to rotate in the direction of the arrow e, it is moved by the driving force imparted to the wheel by the barrel.
  • the tooth 61 of the wheel 2 meets the pulse pallet 5 equipping the large plate 4 and restarts the plates 1 in the direction of the arrow a.
  • the figure 16 shows that from the situation presented in figure 15 , nothing holds the wheel 2 to rotate in the sense that it is driven normally by the gear (arrow e) and the figure 16 shows that if the safety pin 95 was not present, the wheel 2 would continue to turn wild causing serious damage to the escape mechanism and drive. In contrast, the top of the tooth 61 hits the safety pin 95 which reverses the direction of rotation of the plates 1 and thereby restores the correct direction illustrated by the arrow a.
  • the figure 17 shows the situation where the tooth 61 leaves the safety finger 95, which will allow the tooth 63 to give a new impetus to the pallet 5.
  • the safety finger 95 is situated at the same level as the pulse pallet 5, this level being able to be that of the large plate 4.
  • This security finger 95 can be made in one piece with the plate 4 or reported on the latter in the form of a stone set in the image of the impulse pallet 5.
