Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the design and manufacture of an improved security lock against burglary. It also relates to a door closing a room that is equipped with such a lock.
  • the lock according to the invention is of the cylinder type comprising a cylinder in which a locking control key is actuated, in a manner that is in itself conventional, a rotary bit for transmitting the locking control to a bolt by via a linkage, to engage the latch in a keeper fixed to the door jamb, or to disengage, and thereby achieve locking or unlocking the door in the closed position.
  • the cylinder conventionally has a receiving portion of the barrel, and a radial extension extending over its length for mounting in a door.
  • the cylinder is installed in a door, so as to cross the entire thickness, so that it comes flush with its surface on each of its faces. It is fixed to the door by means of a screw which is housed, from the edge of the door, and passing through the latter, inside a hole provided for this purpose in the radial extension of the door. cylinder.
  • Such locks have an unsatisfactory degree of security. Indeed, when one wishes to enter the room by breaking, without having the key of the lock, especially for a burglary, it is sufficient to overcome the lock to hit the cylinder with a hammer or another similar instrument from the outside of the door.
  • the knuckles have the effect of breaking the screw holding the cylinder in place in the door, so that the cylinder can be easily disengaged from the door. It is then easy to manually unlock the locking mechanism of the door, and to penetrate inside the room. The same result can be obtained by drilling the door at the path of passage of the screw, in order to reach the latter and destroy it.
  • the document DE 93 09 217 describes a safety lock in which the fixing of the cylinder is carried out not in a direction transverse to the axis of the cylinder, but in a longitudinal direction, by means of a stirrup having a profile fitting over the radial extension of the cylinder and fixing on the latter in a determined longitudinal position.
  • the stirrup is itself fixed, by lateral fastening tabs, in longitudinal support against an external amount of the lock.
  • EP-A-0281519 discloses a security lock comprising a fixed housing of said lock, a locking mechanism housing cylinder having a radial extension extending along its length for mounting in said fixed housing of said lock and a mounting bracket said cylinder, said fixed housing being delimited by two extreme uprights, said safety lock further comprising a first protective cap and a second protective cap which fit respectively around the end portions of said cylinder, said caps each having a window, access to an end face of said cylinder and attaching to each other in this position.
  • the present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of existing locks, including those described above, by providing a high security lock, which is difficult to drill or tear the door.
  • the invention provides a security lock according to claim 1. More particularly, such a lock comprises a housing cylinder of a locking control mechanism having a radial extension extending over its length for mounting in a lock housing which is intended to be fixedly mounted on a door on which the lock will be installed.
  • This housing generally comprises two extreme amounts, including an internal amount intended to be applied against one side of the door. These two uprights each have a window which gives free access to the locking mechanism for a locking control key actuating a rotary blade for transmitting the locking control to a bolt, via a linkage in itself. same classic.
  • the housing can also be replaced by a locking block integrated in the thickness of a door, the constituent elements of the lock then being mounted inside this block.
  • the lock according to the invention furthermore comprises a clamp for fixing the cylinder longitudinally in the lock, that is to say along the axis of the cylinder, this stirrup having a profile fitting over the radial extension of the cylinder. and fixing itself to the latter in a predetermined longitudinal position, between the two end uprights, which is chosen in particular so as not to hinder the movements of the bit. It also includes a first protective cap and a second protective cap respectively fitting around the end portions of the cylinder, each having an access window at an end face of the cylinder and being fixed to each other in this position nested around the cylinder.
  • these caps also help to protect the lock against break-ins on the one hand by the fact that they fit around the cylinder and the stirrup, thus constituting a protective reinforcement for the latter, and other part by their attachment to each other, on both sides of the lock, longitudinally with respect to the axis of the cylinder.
  • This attachment reinforces the degree of securing of the cylinder and the stirrup, in a direction which this time not transverse but longitudinal with respect to the axis of the cylinder.
  • the lock according to the invention thus has an improved degree of security against burglary compared to conventional locks.
  • the caps each have an access window at an end face of the cylinder, so that access to them through the insertion opening of the key actuating the locking mechanism can still be accessed.
  • They preferably consist of two hollow parts each providing an internal cavity for receiving the cylinder.
  • the yoke is fixed to the radial extension of the cylinder by means of a pin which engages in the transverse direction of the latter, in preferably passing through an orifice formed in conventional manner in the cylinders to allow mounting in the door.
  • the pin is advantageously inaccessible from outside the housing of the lock.
  • the stirrup occupies the entire height of the radial extension of the cylinder, and its upper face is hollowed out with notches allowing a rotating bit of transmission of the locking control carried by the cylinder.
  • This feature advantageously ensures that the stirrup engages the radial extension of the cylinder to a height sufficient for the joining of these two elements can be performed in a solid manner, and that at the same time it does not interfere with the movements of rotation of the bit, which are driven by the rotation of the barrel under the control of the key.
  • the presence in the lock of the caliper thus advantageously has no influence on the proper operation of the locking mechanism of the lock.
  • the two caps are affixed to each other, preferably without touching each other, framing the cylinder and the stirrup.
  • Their fixing is in particular carried out by means of screws inserted in orifices formed in the first cap and coming to screw in orifices formed in the second cap.
  • the second cap is associated with a pellet having free rotation against the access window to an end face of the cylinder, between this window and the cylinder.
  • This pellet has a slot for access of the key to the locking mechanism. It protects the lock against drilling at this point.
  • the second cap is preferably associated with a reinforcing sheath wrapping the end portion of the upper portion of the cylinder inserted inside the second cap.
  • This sheath advantageously provides additional protection for the cylinder.
  • the second cap has, on its edge opposite the access window to the cylinder, a thicker collar making it more difficult pulling when the lock is installed on a door.
  • the first cap and the second cap are each associated with a cover covering its face carrying the access window to the cylinder.
  • This cover also has a window allowing access to the locking mechanism, which is superimposed on the window formed in the cap. It is fixed in particular around the corresponding cap by clipping on an annular ring engaging in a groove dug for this purpose on the peripheral surface of the cap.
  • the stirrup comprises fixing lugs bearing longitudinally on an amount of the lock, in a position where the stirrup is located between this fixing amount and an internal amount of the lock defining the fixed housing and intended to be applied against one side of a door, so that it is inaccessible, except to open the housing delimited by the two uprights.
  • the brackets of the bracket preferably extend laterally on either side of its profile. They are fixed in particular to the fixing amount by screwing.
  • the two protective caps are then fixed to one another by means of a system of screws inserted in orifices formed in the first cap and being screwed into orifices. formed in the second cap, passing through holes provided for this purpose in the inner post and the amount of attachment.
  • the attachment post is perforated, so that it is lightweight.
  • the fixed housing of the lock is delimited by two extreme uprights, including an internal upright intended to be applied against a face of a door and an external upright concealing the inside of the lock.
  • the fixing screws of the bracket to the mounting post are therefore inaccessible from the outside of the housing, as well as the fixing screws of the two protective caps to one another.
  • the external amount is preferably delivered in two separate parts, which allows transport and easy passage of the dismounted lock in low places. These two parts preferably meet at a mounting location of a interior door to the room, so it is impossible to access the caliper or possibly the mounting post from outside the room.
  • the first cap is then located on the side of the inner door to the room, and the second cap through the thickness of the door to come out of the door outside said room. From outside the room, it is impossible to access the cap fixing screws to each other.
  • the fixed housing is replaced by a locking block integrated into the thickness of a security door, preferably metal-shielded.
  • the elements of the lock are then arranged in a groove provided for this purpose in the thickness of the door on one side of the door inside the room.
