  • the knives 40 each comprise an upper portion 43 bent, secured to the side portion 42 by the short edge 411 closest to the base 20.
  • This upper portion 43 comprises a connecting portion 431 secured to said short edge 411 and extending substantially parallel to the lower face 21, and an attachment portion 432 extending substantially perpendicularly to the connecting portion 431 and being housed between the two vertical plates 222.
  • the connecting and fixing portions are thin plates, the fastening portion 432 extending longitudinally parallel to the two vertical plates 222.
  • the two vertical plates 222 and the attachment portions 432 of the two knives 40 are each pierced by two orifices. These orifices are arranged in the extension of each other to form two transverse perforations.
  • the base 20 comprises two bolts 23 engaged in these perforations and pressing against each other the two vertical plates 222 and the two fixing parts 432 so as to secure them.
  • the knives 40 are thus fixed on the base 20 so as to be easily removable. To remove them, it is sufficient to slightly loosen the bolts 23 to move the vertical plates 222 away, and to move the fixing parts 433 so as to slide the bolts from the orifices 433 along the notches 434 to the free edges of the parts fasteners 432.
  • the lower face 21 typically has the shape of a square of 9 centimeters of side.
  • the handle 30 has an elongate shape and extends from the base 20, a longitudinal side before the lower face 21. It extends in a generally oblique direction, substantially in the extension of the side portions 41 of the knives 40.
  • the handle 30 is formed of a hollow metal tube, and comprises a first longitudinal straight segment 31 integral with the base 20 and substantially parallel to the lower face 21, and a second straight segment 32 extending the first from a side opposite to the base 20, this second segment 32 extending obliquely forwardly from the first, away from the lower face 21.

  • the brackets 22 each comprise an arm 223 extending longitudinally forwards from the vertical plates 222, and constituting fixing flanges of the first segment 31 of the handle 30.
  • a U-shaped piece 224 overlaps the two flanges 223. Its two arms extend parallel to the two flanges, an outer side thereof.
  • the handle is welded to the flanges and to the U-shaped part, this part being also welded to the flanges.
  • the cutting device 2 comprises a guide T 50, provided with a longitudinal profile 51 having a square section and a transverse rod 52 integral with the profile, the base 20 comprising means 24 for removable attachment on the rod 52 with a transverse spacing adjustable with respect to the profile 51.
  • the profile 51 comprises a horizontal flange 511 extending in the same plane as the lower face 21, and a vertical flange 512 extending perpendicularly to the horizontal flange, in the longitudinal direction.
  • the vertical wing 512 is integral with a longitudinal edge of the horizontal flange 511 opposite the base 20.
  • the vertical and horizontal flanges have opposite front and rear edges slightly raised.
  • the profile 51 is intended, as shown in figure 2 , following an edge of the insulating plate 1, the horizontal flange 51 being placed on the free surface 11, and the vertical flange 52 against the edge of this plate 1.
  • the transverse rod 52 is welded to one face of the horizontal flange 51 opposite to the insulating plate 1, and extends transversely on respective faces of the horizontal plates 221 of the base 20 opposite to the insulating plate 1.

  • the guide T 50 thus makes it possible to longitudinally guide the movement of the cutout 2, the profile 51 moving along the edge of the plate 1 with the base 20 and the knives 40.
  • the transverse rod 52 typically has a transverse width of 60 centimeters, which makes it possible to adjust the position of the passage 3 in a spacing range with respect to the edge of the plate 1 ranging from at least 7.5 centimeters to at most 55 centimeters. .
  • the longitudinal length of the device is about 52 centimeters, including handle.
  • the cutting device is very easy to use. To cut a passage 3 in a plate, the device is first positioned at a longitudinal edge of the plate, the profile 51 being disposed on an edge of the plate, and the spacing between the profile 51 and the base 20 is adjusted. by means of the removable fastening means 24.
  • the entire cutting device is then longitudinally pulled by the handle 30 to move this device through the entire plate.
  • the knives cut the insulation to create the passage, the cut-off insulating flange coming out naturally from the passage 3 under the effect of the back edges 421 raised from the knives, as shown in FIG. figure 2 .
  • the cutting device 2 comprises means for selectively varying the angle formed by the handle 30 with the lower face 21 of the base 20.
  • the handle 30 is in this case not welded to the base 20, but mounted hinged thereto around a transverse axis pivot connection. He then wears a platinum extending against one of the vertical plates 222 in which is cut a light in a circular arc centered on the transverse axis. Said vertical plate 222 carries a screw engaged in the light, a nut for locking the plate in the desired angular position.
  • the device is of very simple construction, and is therefore inexpensive.
  • the knives can be exchanged without having to separate the two brackets constituting the base of the device. Simply unscrew the bolts that press the two brackets against each other to extract the knives.
  • the guide T allows both to accurately adjust the transverse position of the passage to be cut, and to guide the device in its movement.
  • the raised back edge of the knives pulls out the insulation blank of the passage. The user can grab it without effort.
  • the oblique inclination of the blades and the handle allows a good transmission of the efforts of the user, without the risk of causing the tilting of the device during cutting.
  • the device of the invention has been described in the context of its application to the cutting of an insulating plate bonded to a plasterboard. It can also be used to cut passages in insulating blocks of other shapes, provided that these blocks have a free face substantially flat allowing movement of the base of the device.
