Definitions
- the invention relates to a guide element for a rapier band of a rapier weaving machine, which has guide surfaces for the positive guiding of a rapier band.
- Such guide elements are successively mounted in a row on a sley of a rapier loom that they penetrate due to the movement of the sley from below through the lower warp thread through into a shed. In the shed, they then form a guide for a gripper band penetrating into the shed.
- the gripper belt carries at its free end a gripper, which introduces a weft thread into the shed.
- the rapier band is withdrawn after the insertion of the weft thread back from the shed, after which the sley swings back and the weft thread is struck by a reed to the edge of the fabric.
- the guide elements are again moved through the lower warp thread from the shed out. To obtain high firing speeds, i.
- the movements are at least partially overlapping.
- the sley moves the guide members out of the shed while the shedding members are already moving the warps to form a new shed.
- the guide elements should not catch and take along warp threads neither during their movement into the shed nor out of the shed and, of course, no weft threads.
- Hook-shaped guide elements are made of EP 0275479 B1 known that form an open to the reed guide and are then still arranged at the greatest possible distance from the reed. From of the EP 0275479 B1 Known guide elements allow only relatively small lateral guide surfaces that limit movement of the rapier band to the reed. The so-guided gripper bands are therefore exposed to relatively high wear.
- guide elements in the form of two partial guide elements, which are arranged in a row.
- a hook-shaped part guide element is associated with the top of the rapier band.
- Another partial guide element is assigned to the underside of the rapier band.
- the partial guide elements are arranged in the direction of movement of the rapier band at a distance from each other, but they form a one-piece guide element.
- the successive guide elements are arranged so that in each case one of the upper side of the rapier band associated partial guide element and the underside of the rapier band associated partial guide element are arranged in a common, transverse to the direction of movement of the gripper belt plane.
- the invention has for its object to provide a guide element of the type mentioned, which allows greater freedom in terms of the design of the guide surfaces without the risk is increased that warp or weft threads in the movement into a shed in and out again on the Guide element hang and can be taken.
- the guide element is provided with a projection which - when installed in a rapier - arranged on a reed facing side of the rapier band, is aligned substantially radially to the axis of rotation of a sley, the radially from the axis of rotation of the Weblade is furthest projecting part and forms a guide surface for a side surface of the rapier band, and that the guide element has a - directed at a direction in the direction of movement of the gripper belt leading - substantially perpendicular to this projection web, which ends at a distance from the projection and which forms at least one guide surface which extends substantially perpendicular to the side surface of the associated guide surface of the projection.
- the invention makes it possible to provide the guide elements with large guide surfaces for the rapier band, in particular also with a large guide surface for the side surface of the rapier band facing a reed during installation. Since the gripper belt is guided by means of large guide surfaces, it can safely absorb the torsional forces occurring during braking and acceleration. Since the web terminates at a distance from the projection, there remains a free, upwardly open passage in the direction of movement of the rapier band, in which a part of the rapier band or a fastener for a gripper can move.
- a weft thread is withdrawn from a weft supply, not shown, by means of a rapier 17, brought into the middle of the loom and taken there by a gripper rapier 18 and pulled on the opposite side of the loom through the shed.
- the rapier 17 and the gripper rapier 18 are each attached to the end of a rapier band 19, 20.
- the two rapier bands 19, 20 are moved from the two sides of the machine into a shed 15 and pulled back again after the grippers 17, 18 have met in the middle and the weft thread has been taken.
- the gripper bands 19, 20 are flexible plastic strips with inserts of glass fibers, carbon fibers or aramid (Kevlar) or the like. are reinforced.
- the shapes of the rapier bands 19, 20 become will be explained later in more detail.
- the gripper belts 19, 20 are driven on both sides of the machine by means of drives 21, each having a drive wheel 22 around which the gripper belts 19, 20 are guided.
- the drive wheels 22 engage with teeth in recesses of the rapier bands 19, 20 a.
- the gripper bands 19, 20 are guided around the drive wheels 22 with guide blocks 23.
- the sley 12 is arranged on a sley shaft 26.
- the sley shaft 26 is driven to reciprocate in such a way that the reed 14 mounted on the sley 12 moves from the position shown to a stop position in which a registered weft yarn is struck against the edge of the fabric 16.
- a support profile 27 is attached to which the guide elements 25 are mounted by means of screws 28 so that they are in the direction of a weft thread to be inserted in a row at a distance in succession and form a guide for the rapier band 19, which (in the embodiment to Fig. 2 ) is provided with a Bringergreifer 17.
- the guide elements 25 are provided on the in the installed state the reed 14 facing side of the rapier band 19 with a projection 32 which is aligned substantially radially to the axis of rotation of the sley shaft 26 and which is the part of the guide member 25 which in the radial direction furthest from the axis of rotation of the sley shaft 26 protrudes and the reed 14 comes closest.
- the projection 32 thus penetrates first into the lower warp sheet 29 and leaves it as the last.
- the guide member 25 also has a substantially perpendicular to the projection 32 aligned web 33, which is set back in the radial direction relative to the end of the projection 32.
- the web 33 ends in front of the projection 32 at a distance.
- the gripper to be attached to the rapier band 19, ie a rapier 17 or a gripper rapier 18, can be attached to the part of the rapier band 19 above the web 33 of the guide element 19, which can be chosen such that during acceleration and deceleration of the Gripper band lowest torsional moments occur.
- a rapier 17 or a gripper rapier 18 can be located above the projection 32 as well as partially in the area between a reed 14 and the projection. It is also possible to guide a part of a bringer rapier on the guide surface 35 opposite surface of the projection 32 ( Fig. 13 ).
- the guide elements 25 are relatively thin metal plates.
- the end of the projection 32 is sharpened slightly like a blade. Accordingly, at least the upper side of the web 33 is sharpened like a blade so that it does not lose its function as a guide surface.
- the end of the projection 32 may also be shaped in the shape of a needle point.
- the top of the ridge 33 is located at an intrusion into the lower warp sheet 29 in the shadow of the projection 32 and therefore can easily penetrate through the lower warp sheet 29 into the shed 15.
- Fig. 4 the guide element according to Fig. 2 and 3 in the same form can also be used for a rapier band 36 which has a flat, rectangular cross-section.
- the underside of the substantially rectangular, upwardly open recess serves as a guide surface 37 which lies opposite the underside of the web 33.
- a rapier 17 or a gripper rapier 18 is mounted in the region of the rapier band between the end of the web 33 and the protrusion 32.
- a fastening element 59 is then provided, which connects the gripper with the rapier band 36. Since the web 33 terminates at a distance from the projection 32, a free passage for the fastening element 59 is present.
- Fig. 5 is incorporated in the bottom of the rapier band 38, a longitudinal groove.
- the underside of the recess of the guide element 39 is stepped accordingly. As a result, the guide surfaces effective in the horizontal direction can be increased.
- FIGS. 7 and 8 are variations according to the embodiment according to Fig. 3 ,
- the guide elements 25b or 25c are provided below the side guide surfaces for the rapier band 19 with paragraphs 41 or 42, which additionally support the rapier band 19.
- a shoulder 41 and 42 for both the guide surface 34 and the guide surface 35.
- the guide element after Fig. 10 corresponds in principle to the embodiment according to Fig. 9 ,
- the partial guide element 45 is provided with a web 33b, the underside of which guides the upper side of the rapier band 36.
- the top of the web 33b is curved.
- the curvature extends approximately concentric with the axis of rotation of the batten, to which the guide elements 43 are attached not shown.
- the partial guide element 46 has a guide surface for the underside of the rapier band 36, which extends over the full width of the rapier band.
- the projection 55 of the partial guide element 46 is shorter than in the already described embodiments and ends approximately at the radius of curvature of the upper side of the web 33b.
- FIGS. 11 and 12 Guide elements 44 formed from partial guide elements 47, 48, which serve for the positive guidance of a rapier band 19, which is provided with an opening facing away from the reed 14 side surface longitudinal groove 23.
- the partial guide element 47 has a web 33c, which engages in this longitudinal groove 23 and assumes the leadership of the rapier band in the direction of its top and bottom.
- the partial guide element 48 is with a projection 51 which forms a guide surface 54 for the side surface of the rapier band 19, which faces the reed.
- the guide in the opposite direction can be done by the front end of the web 33c and the bottom of the longitudinal groove and / or by means of a guide surface of the partial guide element 47, which connects to the underside of the web 33c.
- the projection 51 of the partial guide element 48 projects far beyond the web 33c in the radial direction to the axis of rotation of the sley.
- the projection 56 is shortened.
- the partial guide elements 47, 48 a component with a similar design accordingly Fig. 15 or 17 his or two separate components that are attached by means of fasteners 61 together or independently.
- the guide elements 44 after FIGS. 11 and 12 can be used for rapiers 19, which are provided with a longitudinal groove 23. If a partial guide element 48 is used, which only provides a guide surface 54 for a side surface of the rapier band by means of the projection 51, then a guide surface for the underside of a gripper band 36 with a rectangular cross section must be provided on the partial guide element 47a ( Fig. 13 ). This happens in the embodiment according to FIGS. 13 and 14 by means of a second web 57 projecting from the partial guide element 47a in the direction of the projection 51. As in FIGS. 13 and 14 is shown, in such a partial guide element 47a optionally a gripper belt 19 with a longitudinal groove 23 or a gripper belt 36 can be used with a rectangular cross-section.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a guide element for a rapier band of a rapier weaving machine, which has guide surfaces for the positive guiding of a rapier band.
Such guide elements are successively mounted in a row on a sley of a rapier loom that they penetrate due to the movement of the sley from below through the lower warp thread through into a shed. In the shed, they then form a guide for a gripper band penetrating into the shed. The gripper belt carries at its free end a gripper, which introduces a weft thread into the shed. The rapier band is withdrawn after the insertion of the weft thread back from the shed, after which the sley swings back and the weft thread is struck by a reed to the edge of the fabric. During this pivoting back of the sley, the guide elements are again moved through the lower warp thread from the shed out. To obtain high firing speeds, i. To allow fast successive weft entries, the movements are at least partially overlapping. The sley moves the guide members out of the shed while the shedding members are already moving the warps to form a new shed. The guide elements should not catch and take along warp threads neither during their movement into the shed nor out of the shed and, of course, no weft threads.

The invention has for its object to provide a guide element of the type mentioned, which allows greater freedom in terms of the design of the guide surfaces without the risk is increased that warp or weft threads in the movement into a shed in and out again on the Guide element hang and can be taken.
This object is achieved in that the guide element is provided with a projection which - when installed in a rapier - arranged on a reed facing side of the rapier band, is aligned substantially radially to the axis of rotation of a sley, the radially from the axis of rotation of the Weblade is furthest projecting part and forms a guide surface for a side surface of the rapier band, and that the guide element has a - directed at a direction in the direction of movement of the gripper belt leading - substantially perpendicular to this projection web, which ends at a distance from the projection and which forms at least one guide surface which extends substantially perpendicular to the side surface of the associated guide surface of the projection.
The invention makes it possible to provide the guide elements with large guide surfaces for the rapier band, in particular also with a large guide surface for the side surface of the rapier band facing a reed during installation.
- the radially projecting from the axis of the batten most projecting part. In particular, when the projection and the web are arranged in the same plane transverse to the direction of movement of the rapier band, there is an advantage. During weaving, the projection penetrates between two warp threads in the shed. He spreads these warp threads, so that the subsequent web already finds an opening between the warp threads, if he also penetrates into the shed. Since the projection has no hook-like guides or parts, no warp threads can get stuck in it during movements in the shed and out of the shed on him.

The shed 15 is formed by shed forming means, not shown, dividing the warp threads into a
The
The

- Guiding element according to claim 1, characterised in that at the guide surface (35, 54) of the protrusion (32, 49, 51, 55, 56) associated to a lateral surface of the gripper tape, a guide surface (37) connects that runs essentially rectangular thereto and that is associated to the underside of gripper tape.
- Guiding element according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that at the underside of the bar (33, 33a, 33b, 33c, 50) on the opposite side of the protrusion (32, 49, 51, 55, 56) a guide surface (34) associated to a lateral surface of the gripper tape connects.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the bar (33a, 33b, 33c, 50) and the protrusion (49, 51, 55, 56) are arranged in the direction of movement of a gripper tape in distance to each other.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that at least two partial guiding elements (45, 46; 47, 48; 47a, 48a) are provided, of which one has the protrusion (49, 51, 55, 56) and another has the bar (33a, 33b, 33c, 50).
- Guiding element according to claim 5, characterised in that the partial guiding element, which has the bar (33a, 33b, 33c, 50), is provided with a guide surface (53), that is associated to the lateral surface of the gripper tape, that - during mounting into a gripper weaving machine - is averted from the weaving reed.
- Guiding element according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the partial guiding element (46, 55) that has the protrusion, is provided with a guide surface, that is associated to the underside of the gripper tape.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the upper side and the underside of the bar (33, 33c, 50) serve as guide surfaces for a gripper tape, which has a longitudinal groove open to a lateral surface.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the protrusion (32, 49, 51, 55, 56) is designed sharpened or needle-like.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the guide surface associated to the underside of the gripper tape (19, 36, 38) is stepped.
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the lateral guide surface (35) formed by the protrusion (32) is limited with one or two guiding ribs (40).
- Guiding element according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that one or both lateral guide surfaces (34, 35) are provided with a guiding heel (41, 42).
- Guiding element according to claim 1, characterised in that protrusion (32, 49, 49a, 51) and bar (33, 33a, 33c) - viewed transversely to the direction of movement of a gripper tape - are arranged in a common plane.
- Guiding element according to claim 13, characterised in that - viewed transversely to the direction of movement of a gripper tape - bars (33a, 33c) and protrusions (49, 49a, 51) arranged in a common plane are integrated part each time of other guiding elements.
