Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective garment made of metal ring mesh, such as e.g. a protective glove having the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a protective clothing made of metal ring mesh is used as a protective glove for example from US 6,076,190 A known and is worn by butchers, for example, to protect against cuts, punctures and cuts.
- metal ring braids are highly flexible and give their hand to protect their mobility.
- a steel stiffening strip is inserted for stiffening.
- reinforcements are inserted at the proximal end of the glove.
- the metal ring mesh of the band is arranged at right angles to the running direction of the metal ring mesh of the glove in order to achieve the effect of a toothing by engagement of the metal ring meshes.
- a protective glove in which a fastener tape is guided by recordings on the waistband of the glove.
- Protective clothing made of metal ring mesh must be fixed on the one hand on the body of the user, including appropriate fasteners are usually provided in the form of inserted in the metal ring mesh non-metallic bands.
- appropriate fasteners are usually provided in the form of inserted in the metal ring mesh non-metallic bands.
- stiffening elements are provided, for which also usually silicone inserts are used so far.
- Another area that needs to be reinforced, is created by the edges of the metal ring mesh, as they must be kept in shape, which is not guaranteed solely by the metal ring mesh.
- An elastic flat plastic belt without waves, but with recesses, which can also be used in conjunction with a belt buckle, is from the US-A 4,377,872 known. About the recesses, the belt buckle or the belt is fixed with itself.
- the present invention seeks to provide a durable protective clothing.
- the protective clothing has a wavy band as stiffening means for cuff stiffening or reinforcement, in particular in the area of the final fabric reinforcement.
- a wavy band is more resistant to kinking than conventional inserts since it is already preformed to a certain radius.
- the wave-shaped band is elastically bendable with the waves, it acts sufficiently stiffening across it.
- the wavy band in the metal ring mesh such as e.g. embedded in a channel, it fills this channel better, so that it does not come to projecting limbs of the metal ring mesh due to the larger radius in the region of the transitions or edges of the wavy band. This avoids pressing individual chain links on the skin of the user, so that the glove is more comfortable to wear.
- the band is made of metal.
- an all-metal glove can be created, which is easy to sterilize and thus meets the particular hygiene requirements in the food industry.
- Other materials, however, are also suitable for use with the tape.
- Figures 1 to 3 show a protective clothing once for a whole arm and once in the area of the hand and the forearm, which at least partially consists of a metal ring mesh.
- the protective clothing can also be applied to other parts of the body, such as e.g. be attached to the legs or the body itself.
- Such protective clothing serves to protect e.g. of butchers against puncture, cut and cut injuries. It has a stiffening means 23, 32 for stiffening and / or reinforcing in particular the end and edge regions for fabric end reinforcement of the protective clothing, which is a protective glove here.
- the stiffening means 23, 32 is formed by a wave-shaped band 30, which is concatenated with the protective clothing or the protective glove, connected or inserted into the metal ring mesh.
- a wave-shaped band has the disadvantage that the wave-shaped band is flexible in one direction, it also has the advantage that it is significantly better stiffened in the other direction than a flat band.
- the band 30 may in principle be made of any material which is wave-formable or shaped. Preferably, however, it is made of metal, because of metal, a wavy band can be produced most cheaply and currently least applies. Thus, an all-metal glove can be created, which is easy to sterilize and meets the particular hygiene requirements in the food sector, since the tape does not have to be removed or even over time becomes brittle, as previously known silicone or plastic tapes. However, other materials are also suitable for use with the tape.
- the wavy band 30 of the protective clothing 40 for example, completely or partially inserted according to the figures 4 and 5 in a channel 35, it takes in this channel according to Figure 5 also a corresponding space, so that the metal ring mesh with a larger radius of the tape 30 hugs than this is the case with a conventional insert. This results in that a pressure due to the protrusion of individual members of the metal ring mesh is significantly reduced.
- the wave-shaped band 30 Since the wave-shaped band 30 is already preformed by the introduction of the waves, it holds a buckling stress longer than a conventional band, since the waves initially counteract further kinking. Before a new kink forms, the waves catch a corresponding transverse movement of the band. As a result, the wavy band, regardless of where in the protective clothing 40 it is used, significantly more durable than the previously used fasteners, stiffeners and reinforcing agents.
- the waves of the band 30 extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the band.
- the length of the clamping element is namely slightly smaller than a multiple of a wave and a wave trough of the wavy band.
- the length is so much smaller that results in a curvature of the tape, which corresponds to an arrangement on the hand or the arm of the user about the curvature in the band resting on the hand or arm of the user.
- the clamping element engages in the fixed state on the belt with two transverse brackets in two troughs on top of the band and with a holding element it engages under the band, which is preferably attached to this holding element, the push button or the push-button receptacle.
- the clamping element can be converted by elastic deformation of the tape in an adjustment position in which it comes out of engagement with the waves of the tape.
- the cross straps are released and can be moved along the tape. This results in an easy-to-use and easily adjustable adjustment, especially when the wavy band is to be used as a fastening means in connection with a closing means.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 A corresponding arrangement is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5.
- the wavy band runs in a channel 35 of metal ring mesh.
- the band is fixed in place in the spiral channel at one point by means of a screw 36.
- the wavy band 30 exits the channel 35 at one location and overlies the metal ring mesh.
- the clamping element 31 is attached to the push-button receptacle, so that an easy-to-use, adjustable Attachment with a closing means 14 results.
- Figure 5 shows how the wavy band 30 is received in the channel 35 and also the resulting radius when nestling the metal ring mesh to the wavy band.
- the fasteners 10 run completely around the user's hand or arm. This is not absolutely necessary since an arrangement on a part of the circumference is sufficient. Under certain circumstances, it is sufficient that mutually separate or contiguous portions of a waveband are engaged with each other so that there is a catch. Depending on which geometry of the band is selected, so a stronger or lower fixation can be sufficient.
- the wave-shaped band 30 may also be pre-curved or spirally biased. By thus occurring pre-deformation engagement of the waves of superimposed sections and thus the locking is facilitated.
- One way to do this is, for example, when the spirally-biased wavy band is arranged as a fastener 10 such that passage of the user's hand will expand the coil.
- Known arrangements with a smooth spiral close around the user's hand and can hinder the free operation.
- the arrangement of a wave-shaped tape there is the possibility that superimposed portions of the wave-shaped band 30 are releasably locked together by an engagement of the waves, so that the spiral does not apply directly to the wrist or the arm.
- FIGS. 6 to 12 show various possibilities for this.
- a sheet metal folding as a closing element 33 is welded or riveted to the end 30c.
- a slotted round part can be fastened, provided that it is ensured that this does not preclude a corresponding movement or displacement of the end of the wavy band.
- terminating elements 33 instead of such terminating elements 33, according to FIGS.
- the end 30c of the band can also be folded over or rolled up.
- 10a and 10b show the arrangement of a welded-on or riveted fitting part 34, wherein this extends beyond the width of the band 30 here.
- the shape does not have to be round, other shapes are possible.
- FIG. 12 shows a half-round fitting part 34 covering the band end.
- a protective glove is shown with a cuff 22, where there is used as a stiffening element 23, a wavy band 30.
- the fastening means 10 both in the area of the wrist and at the end of the cuff 22 can be formed by wavebands, but also by prior art systems. If the glove were e.g. have a slot, a wavy band could also be provided in the region of the slot edges, which then serves as a reinforcing means 32 there.
- FIGS. 13a to 13e show different geometries of the wavy band 30 in a side view.
- Other shapes are possible.
- use of the wavy band of FIG. 13b would suggest that it will meander much more than the other bands.
- rectangular or triangular bands according to FIGS. 13d and 13e are also possible.
- different sections of a wavy band 30 may be shaped differently geometrically.
- the waveband itself usually has a plate thickness between 0.1 to 0.8 mm.

US-A 4,377,872 bekannt.
