Definitions

  • the invention relates to a delivery unit for a motor vehicle provided for fastening in a fuel tank with a delivery pump arranged in a housing and intended for drawing in fuel from a bottom area of a baffle and with a filter arranged upstream of the delivery pump as seen in the direction of flow
  • Such conveying units are usually designed with an electric motor as a structural unit and inserted through an opening in the fuel tank.
  • the filter has a bag-shaped filter fabric and is mounted on a pipe piece and is arranged close to the bottom of the baffle.
  • the pipe piece is one-piece with a side part of the conveying unit
  • the filter element has clips for locking with the pipe piece and lies to the side of the conveying unit
  • a disadvantage of the known delivery unit is that it is complicated to assemble and has a high space requirement.
  • the high space requirement due to the filter element protruding to the side means that the bottom area of the swirl pot must be designed to be very large, so that the delivery unit with an almost empty fuel tank and an inclined one Can not reliably suck Kiaftfahizeug
  • the invention is based on the problem of designing a conveying unit of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be produced and assembled as inexpensively as possible and requires a particularly small amount of space in the bottom area of the plastic container
  • This problem is solved according to the invention in that the filter is arranged within the housing of the feed pump
  • the intake unit according to the invention requires a particularly small amount of space in its suction area, so that the swirl pot in the fuel tank can have particularly small dimensions.
  • a filter element protruding from the delivery unit is therefore not necessary required to assemble the filter

  • the filter further contributes to a further reduction in the space requirement if the filter is designed to be cylindrical in shape and with its two end faces rests on a side part each with a passage provided with fuel flow.
  • Another advantage of this design is that that the door unit has a sandwich-like structure and is particularly easy to assemble
  • the filter is held reliably in its position if it has a support ring for support on the side parts. Furthermore, the support ring serves as a spacer for the side parts, so that they can be easily clamped together during assembly contributes to further simplifying the assembly of the conveyor unit according to the invention
