Description

The invention relates to a device for washing and ejecting a wiper body, which is held on a mop head of a surface cleaning device, with a container having a washing area and a spin area, wherein in the spin area a mop head holder is rotatably held, in which the mop head with the wiper body can be used is and which is drivable for dehumidifying the wiping body by means of a drive means about a rotational axis, and wherein the washing area receives a cleaning liquid and the mop head is inserted with the wiper body in the washing area.

For cleaning a soiled surface, in particular a bottom surface, a wiper body, for example a wiping mop, a wiping pad or a wiping cloth held to form a wiping surface on a mop head is frequently used. For surface cleaning of the mop head is moved with the wiper body on the surface to be cleaned along, so that dirt can be absorbed. The wiper body held on the wiper head can then be washed out and wrung out.

For wringing out, it is proposed in WO 92/14394 A to place the mop head on a mop head holder, which is subsequently set in rotation, so that liquid is ejected from the mop body due to the centrifugal forces acting on it. Such a procedure has the advantage that the user does not have to come in contact with the cleaning liquid. In the device described in WO 92/14394 A, the mop head holder is arranged in a first container, which can be positioned above a collecting container, in which the liquid emerging from the wiping body can be collected. In addition, another comes Container used in which the mop head held on the wiper body can be washed out.

In US-A 4 506 403 a device of the type mentioned is described in which a two-part container is used, wherein a first container part surrounds a washing area, which receives a cleaning liquid for washing the wiper body, and wherein a second container part on the first container part can be placed and surrounds the spin area, in which the mop head can be used with the wiper body held thereon.

Object of the present invention is to develop a device of the type mentioned in such a way that it has a more compact design.

This object is achieved in a device of the generic type according to the invention that the container is designed in the manner of a bucket that surrounds the washing area and the spin area that the container below the centrifugal area forms an intermediate wall which covers a drive device receiving drive space, and that the washing area extends laterally next to the centrifugal area and the drive space, wherein the washing area at the level of the centrifugal area forms an insertion section and at the level of the drive space a fluid receiving area.

The invention used according to the configuration of the container in the manner of a bucket allows easy handling of the device, which is characterized by a compact design. The washing area This has a relatively large volume, since it extends both along the spin area and along the drive space and thus can absorb a considerable amount of cleaning fluid, so that the wiper body can be thoroughly washed in the wash area.

In a particularly cost-producible embodiment, the container has an integrally designed base body, which surrounds the spin area and the washing area and which has a coverable by a cover indentation, wherein the cover and the indentation surround the drive space. The main body may be formed, for example, as a plastic molding and can therefore be produced inexpensively. The assembly of the device according to the invention can be carried out very inexpensively in such an embodiment, because the cover allows easy accessibility of the drive space, so that in this the drive device can be attached in a simple manner in the region of the indentation on the base body. Subsequently, the cover can be placed, so that the drive space is completely enveloped by the region of the indentation of the body and the cover.

It is particularly advantageous if the cover is detachably connectable to the base body, since thereby the drive space - for example, for repair purposes - is always accessible. Preferably, the cover is releasably connectable by means of a screw connection with the base body.

It is advantageous if the cover forms a bottom plate of the container.

A particularly compact embodiment of the device can be achieved in that the fluid receiving area engages under the centrifugal area. As a result, a large volume can be made available to the washing area, which can be filled with cleaning liquid. This makes it possible to additionally improve the cleaning of the washing body within the washing area.

In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that the container laterally next to the drive space has an inclined to the axis of rotation of the mop head holder bottom wall, which covers a arranged below the bottom wall space. Within the free space operating elements of the device according to the invention can be positioned.

In order to achieve a particularly thorough cleaning of the wiping body within the washing area, is provided in an advantageous embodiment that the obliquely oriented bottom wall bounds the liquid receiving area and forms a wash plate to which the wiping head held on the wiper body can be applied flat and on the wiper body along is. The washing plate is thus arranged within the liquid receiving region, and the wiper body held on the wiping head can be moved along the washing plate in a planar manner. The wash plate thus forms a kind of washboard and allows a particularly thorough cleaning of the wiper body. The wash plate is oriented obliquely to the rotational axis of the mop head holder and thus in the position of use of the device according to the invention obliquely to the vertical. This allows a particularly simple handling of the device according to the invention during washing the wiper body, since this can be moved, for example, from top to bottom along the obliquely oriented wash plate along.

A particularly effective cleaning of the wiper body can be achieved in that the wash plate carries friction elements on its upper side. The latter can be configured for example in the form of projections, grooves or grooves. It can also be provided that the wash plate has a lattice-shaped configuration and thus forms a friction grid, to which the wiper body held on the wiper body is placed and on which it can be moved along.

It can be provided that the mop head holder is manually set in rotation. For this purpose, the drive unit may have mechanical drive elements with a user-operable hand crank or a foot pedal. In addition, mechanical deflecting elements can be used for deflecting a translational movement of the foot pedal into a rotational movement of the mop head holder.

Alternatively it can be provided that the drive device comprises an electric motor. It is advantageous here if the drive device is associated with a user-operable control. To achieve a particularly compact design and the simplest possible handling of the device, it has proven to be advantageous if the control is arranged in the region of the free space below the obliquely aligned bottom wall or in the drive space below the spin area.

It is favorable if the control comprises a foot switch. For ejection of the wiper held on the wiper head, it is then only necessary that the user inserts the mop head with the wiper body in the mop head holder and then actuates the foot switch, so that the drive means set in motion and thus the mop head holder together with the mop head and held thereon Wiper body is set in rotation.

The mop head holder can be placed on a drive shaft in a preferred embodiment. This allows a particularly simple installation of the mop head holder. Preferably, the mop head holder is positively connected to the drive shaft. It is advantageous if the mop head holder is held exchangeably in the spin area of the container.

The drive shaft can be arranged within the spin area and be coupled via coupling elements, for example via a magnetic coupling, with the drive unit arranged within the drive space.

Alternatively it can be provided that the drive shaft passes through the intermediate space of the container covering the drive space. Preferably, it is coupled within the drive space via mechanical coupling elements, for example via a belt drive, with a drive motor.

As already mentioned, the washing area of the container receives a cleaning liquid. If these are removed after use of the device from the container, it is advantageous if the container can be tilted in a simple manner. This is in a preferred embodiment the device according to the invention provided that the container has at least one attached to a container wall or molded handle.

The at least one handle may for example be designed as a recessed grip, which is formed in a container wall.

It has proved to be favorable if the at least one handle is arranged on the outside of the container adjacent to the spinning area.

Preferably, at least two handles are provided, which are on opposite side portions of the container to the container wall or molded into this.

In order to achieve the most effective cleaning of the wiper body with low energy consumption, it has proven to be favorable when the wiper body is held with the formation of a wiping surface on the mop head and the mop head holder forms a receptacle into which the mop head with obliquely or perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the mop head holder aligned surface normal of the wiping surface is used. In such an embodiment, the wiping body is aligned during ejection such that the surface normal of the wiping surface does not occupy a position parallel to the axis of rotation of the wiper head holder, but the surface normal is at an angle to the axis of rotation. It has been shown that by means of such an orientation of the wiping surface liquid droplets are ejected particularly effective. As a result, a particularly high efficiency of the device can be achieved. This makes it possible, within a short spin time even with relatively low speeds and therefore with relatively low energy consumption to achieve effective dehumidification of the wiper body.

It has proved to be particularly favorable when the receptacle receives the mop head with surface normal of the wiping surface aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation. This allows a particularly compact design of the device. In addition, can be dehumidify in such a construction in an advantageous manner plate-shaped wiper body, which form both on its top and on its underside a wiping surface and consequently are used on both sides. Such wipers are usually held on a mop head, on the side of a handle or handle is hinged. The mop head with wiper body held thereon can be pivoted relative to the handle or handle such that, alternatively, the top or the bottom of the wiper body faces the surface to be cleaned. This pivotable mounting of the wiper head on the handle or handle makes it easier to insert the wiper head with it held wiper body in the receptacle of the wiper head holder, that the surface normal of the wiping surface is aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the wiper head holder.

Preferably, the receptacle of the mop head holder is bounded by two spaced-apart side walls, which receive between them the mop head with the wiper body and each have at least one passage opening through which ejected liquid can escape from the receptacle.

It is advantageous if the side walls of the receptacle are designed net or lattice-shaped. The receptacle is thus designed in the manner of a cage, in the wiper head with wiper body held by it can be inserted in a simple manner in the position of use of the device vertically from above.

The wiper head holder is preferably associated with a lid which is arranged at the level of an upper edge of the container and which covers the centrifugal area, with the exception of the receptacle of the wiper head holder. This not only reduces the risk that a user inadvertently grips the container during rotation of the mop head holder, but also prevents ejected liquid from escaping from the container.

As low it has proven, when the lid is integrally connected to the side walls of the receptacle of the mop head holder. The lid is thereby rotated during ejection of the wiper body together with the side walls of the receptacle in rotation.

A particularly simple assembly of the device according to the invention can be achieved in that the mop head holder is designed in one piece. Thus, for example, be provided that the mop head holder forms a plastic molding that can be used interchangeably in the spin area of the container.

As already explained, it is favorable if the drive device can be set in motion by means of a foot switch. To be particularly advantageous, it has proven here, when the foot switch is in electrical communication with a timer, with the aid of which the spin time determined by the operation of the foot switch can be detected. This gives the opportunity to expire a certain spin time a display element, such as a light emitting diode, to activate, so that the user is signaled that a certain spin time has expired and thus a certain degree of dryness is reached. It is particularly advantageous if the timer has a plurality of display elements, for example a plurality of light-emitting diodes and / or an acoustic display element, for example a buzzer, so that the achievement of different degrees of drying can be signaled.

It can be provided that by means of the timer, the drive device is automatically switched off after expiration of a certain spin time.

It is advantageous if a desired spin time is adjustable by the user by means of an actuator, which is arranged in a preferred embodiment in a lateral wall portion of the container.

Preferably, the at least one display element and / or the actuator are arranged next to the foot switch.

In Figure 1, a surface cleaning device in the form of a known Bodenwischgerätes 10 is shown with a handle 11 which is connected via a joint 12 shown in simplified form with a mop head 13, on whose side facing away from the stem 11 a flat designed wiping body 14 is. The latter can be, for example, a wiping fabric which can be separated from the wiper head 13. The wiper body 14, with its underside facing away from the wiper head 13, forms a wiping surface 15 which can be moved along a bottom surface to be cleaned for dirt pickup and whose orientation is predetermined by a surface normal 16 aligned perpendicular to the wiping surface 15.

By means of the floor wiper 10 can be cleaned in a conventional manner floor surfaces. For this purpose, the wiping body 14 is moistened and then to the moved to be cleaned bottom surface along, so that, for example, dust can be absorbed by the bottom surface. Subsequently, the wiper body 14 is washed out and wrung out, so that it only has a low degree of moisture.

For washing out and dehumidifying the wiping body 14, according to the invention, the apparatus shown in FIGS. 2 to 6 and generally designated by the reference numeral 20 for washing and ejecting liquid from the wiping body 14 is used. It comprises a container in the form of a bucket 22, which has a flat transverse wall 23 which is integrally connected at at right angles to the transverse wall 23 aligned, arranged parallel to each other longitudinal walls 24 and 25. The latter are connected on their side facing away from the transverse wall 23 via a semi-cylindrical arc wall 26 integrally with each other. On the upper side, said walls 23 to 26 define a top edge 27 of the bucket 22 which revolves in a plane.

In the bucket 22, a circular arc-shaped curved partition 29 is used, which engages over the top edge 27 in the region of the longitudinal wall 24 and 25 approximately centrally with holding elements in the form of side wings 30, 31. By the partition wall 29, the interior of the bucket 22 is divided into a centrifugal area 33 and a washing area 34.

At the upper edge 27 in the region of the transverse wall 23 and the arc wall 26 each centrally a mounting bracket 26 is hinged, at the center of a carrying handle 37 is held. The mounting bracket 36 spans in the longitudinal direction of the bucket 22 the washing area 34 and the centrifugal area 33 and can between a on the upper edge 27 resting position and a pivoted position shown in Figure 5 in the dashed line position are pivoted.

At a clear distance from the partition wall 29, the transverse wall 23 and the longitudinal walls 24 and 25 are integrally connected to each other via an inclined to the vertical, in the direction of the centrifugal region 34 bottom wall 39 of the bucket 22. The bottom wall 39 forms a washing or friction plate, which will be discussed in more detail below. The transverse wall 23 is here as well as the two longitudinal walls 24 and 25 down over the bottom wall 39 via. The transverse wall 23 has below the bottom wall 39 a rectangular, in the free space 40 dipping indentation 42 in which a user-operable control in the form of a foot switch 43 is arranged.

At the transverse wall 23 facing away from the end of the bottom wall 39 a substantially parallel to the transverse wall 23 aligned step wall 45 is formed, which extends approximately to half the height of the bucket 22 and integrally connected to a substantially horizontally oriented intermediate wall 46, on the the step wall 45 is connected to the arch wall 26. In the intermediate wall 46, the longitudinal walls 24 and 25 adjacent two accessible to the user recessed grips 48, 49 are formed.

The transverse wall 23 forms in combination with the two longitudinal walls 24, 25 and the arc wall 26 and the bottom wall 39, the step wall 45 and the intermediate wall 46 an integrally designed base body 50 which is designed as a plastic molding and by the intermediate wall 46 and the Step wall 45 forms an indentation, which is covered by an integrally designed cover 52 which is releasably connectable by means of connecting screws 53 to the base body 50 and a substantially triangular configured bottom plate 54 and in the region of the arc wall 26 perpendicular from the bottom plate 54 upwardly projecting Sidewall 55 has. The side wall 55 in this case a user each side access to the recessed grips 48 and 49 free.

Through the cover 52 and the step wall 45 and the intermediate wall 46, a drive space 57 of the bucket 22 is defined below the washing area 34.

The bottom wall 39 carries on its inside facing the container top 59 a plurality of V-shaped projections 60 which are integrally connected to the bottom wall 39.

The washing area 34 forms an insertion section 62 at the level of the dividing wall 39, and below the insertion section 62 a liquid receiving area 63 is formed in the area between the inclined bottom wall 39 and the vertically oriented step wall 45, which receives a cleaning liquid 64. This becomes clear in particular from FIG.

The drive space 57 receives an electric motor 66, which is coupled via a pinion and a toothed belt 67 with a rotatably held on a drive shaft 79 pulley 68. The latter is mounted on ball bearings on a specified in the drive chamber 57 bearing holder 78 and passes through with her the pulley 68 facing away from the upper end portion 73, the intermediate wall 46 and thus immersed in the washing area 33 of the bucket 22 a.

The drive space 57 receives a rechargeable battery 72 in addition to the power supply of the electric motor 66.

About not shown in the drawing, known per se electrical connection lines is the electric motor 66 with a known in the art and therefore not shown to achieve a better overview in the drawing, within the drive chamber 57 or alternatively within the free space 40 arranged control unit in electrical connection, which in turn is connected to the foot switch 43 and two adjacent to the foot switch 43 on the transverse wall 23 arranged optical display elements in the form of two light-emitting diodes 75, 76 and an acoustic display element in the form of a below the light emitting diodes 75, 76 arranged on the transverse wall 23 buzzer 77th In addition, the control unit is connected to a above the light-emitting diode 56 held on the transverse wall 23 electrical actuator in the form of a selector switch 78 in electrical connection.

The spin area 23 interchangeably accommodates a wiper head holder 80 which is embodied in one piece in the form of a plastic molding and has two side walls 83, 84 aligned parallel to one another and a receptacle 82 which are configured like a cage with a plurality of through openings 85. The side walls 83, 84 are integrally connected to each other via a substantially U-shaped support bracket 86 having a horizontally oriented, reinforced in its central region web 87 has and sits on a form-liquid connection on the upper end portion 73 of the drive shaft 70.

The wiper head holder 80 also includes a cover 91 comprising two cover halves 89 and 90. The two cover halves 89 and 90 are in each case integrally connected to a side wall 83 or 84 of the wiper head holder 80. By means of the cover 91, the centrifugal region 33 of the bucket 22 is completely covered except for the receptacle 82 of the wiper head holder 80.

By means of the electric motor 66, the wiper head holder 80 can be rotated about the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft 70 via the drive shaft 70, i. the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft 70 defines a in the position of use of the device 20 vertically oriented axis of rotation 93 of the mop head holder 80th

For washing, the wiping head 13 with the wiping body 14 held thereon can be passed through the insertion section 62 and immersed in the cleaning liquid 64 of the liquid receiving area 63. For this purpose, starting from the operating position shown in FIG. 1, the wiper head 13 is pivoted so far about a pivot axis aligned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the handle 11, so that the surface normal 16 of the wiping surface 15 is aligned substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation 93 of the wiper head holder 80 , In this pivoted position, the wiping head 13 can be introduced into the washing area 34 via the insertion section 62 so far that the front end edge of the wiping head 13 facing away from the handle 11 impinges on the upper side 59 of the bottom wall 39. Subsequently the wiping body 14 held on the wiping head 13 can be placed flat on the upper side 59 of the bottom wall 39 by renewed pivoting of the wiping head 13 and then moved along the upper side 59 in the direction of the step wall 45. In this case, reliable cleaning of the wiping body 14 surrounded by the cleaning liquid 64 is achieved by means of the projections 60 projecting from the top side 59. The bottom wall 39 with molded-on projections 60 thus forms a washing or friction plate, by means of which the wiping body 14 can be thoroughly washed out.

After cleaning, the wiper head 13 with wiper body 14 held thereon can again be led out of the washing area 34 via the insertion section 62 and then inserted into the receptacle 82 of the wiper head holder 80. By operating the foot switch 43, the user can then set the electric motor 66 in motion, so that the entire wiper head 80 is rotated together with the wiper body 14 via the drive shaft 70 in rotation. Due to the rotational movement, the fluid received by the wiping body 14 experiences a centrifugal force, so that liquid is ejected from the wiping body 14 in the radial direction and impinges on the inside of the arc wall 26 and the side of the partition wall 29 facing the centrifugal region 23. The ejected liquid then flows down along the said walls and collects again in the liquid receiving region 63.

By the light-emitting diodes 75 and 76 and the buzzer 77, the user receives feedback about the self-adjusting degree of drying of the wiper body 14 inserted into the receptacle 82. For this purpose, the control unit comprises a known per se and therefore not shown in the drawing timer, which measures the spin time of the mop head holder 80 determined by the operation of the foot switch 43. The duration of the spin-on process, which takes place at a fixed speed, corresponds in each case to a specific degree of dryness of the wiping body. Upon reaching a first degree of drying, the light emitting diode 75 first lights up, and upon further rotation occurs on reaching an advanced degree of drying, the light emitting diode 76 and it sounds the buzzer 77. The desired degree of drying can be adjusted continuously by the user by means of the selector switch 78. The user can then release the foot switch 43 again, so that the rotary movement of the mop head holder 80 is terminated and consequently the mop head 13 together with the wiping body 14 of the mop head holder 80 can be removed. For dirt pickup, the mop head with the wiper body 14 can then be moved along the floor surface to be cleaned, in order then to be cleaned again in the washing area 34 of the device 20.

From the foregoing it is clear that the device 20 has a compact design, wherein the washing area 34 engages under the centrifugal area 33 and below the centrifugal area 33 of the drive space 75 is arranged. The bottom wall 39 forms a washing or friction plate for thoroughly cleaning the wiping body 14, which can be placed flat on the washing plate and moved along this, wherein the cleaning effect is enhanced by the protruding projections 60. Through the use of the display elements in the form of light emitting diodes 75 and 76 and the buzzer 77, the handling of the device 20 according to the invention is considerably simplified, since the user receives feedback on the self-adjusting degree of drying, which he can set by means of the selector 76. Besides, lets This significantly reduces the energy consumption of the device 20, since the spin process can be stopped immediately after reaching a certain degree of drying.
