Effective communication during cleaning allows solvent transfer from the chamber to parts of the rollers involved in the printing process. The rollers rotate during cleaning transferring solvent from the chamber to the rollers involved in printing and returning diluted ink and dried ink that has been dissolved back to the chamber. The invention also relates to a corresponding control device for a print machine for automation implementation of a cleaning process.

Description

The invention relates to a method for cleaning components of rollers involved in the printing process, which remain during the cleaning process in the printing press and there are acted upon by solvents according to the preamble of claim 1.

The printing of a printing substrate in a flexographic printing machine is performed by a method in which the printing material is guided on a cylinder and a first roller, which is covered with printing plates, and the ink carried by the printing plate applied to the substrate. The printing ink required for this purpose is removed by one or more further rollers from a doctoring chamber serving as a paint reservoir and transferred to the printing forms of the printing drum.

After such a printing operation, it is necessary to clean the components of the various rolls, for example, the printing forms applied to a printing roll to prevent drying and sticking of the remaining printing ink. Firmly adhering ink can only be removed with considerable effort. The mechanical effects of cleaning the components of rollers with adhering ink often lead to damage to the components of rollers.

Es ist ein Verfahren zum Reinigen von Bestandteilen von am Druckprozess beteiligten Walzen bekannt, bei dem zunächst die Druckfarbe aus der Rakelkammer entfernt und die Rakelkammer mit Lösungsmittel befüllt wird, bei dem während der Reinigung eine einen Lösungsmittelübertrag gestattende Wirkverbindung zwischen der Rakelkammer und den zu reinigenden Bestandteilen von am Druckprozess beteiligten Walzen aufrecht erhalten wird und bei dem sich die Walzen während des Reinigungsprozesses drehen, so dass Lösungsmittel von der Rakelkammer auf die zu reinigenden Bestandteile der am Druckprozess beteiligten Walzen übertragen wird, dort Druckfarbe verdünnt und/oder angetrocknete Druckfarbe löst, welche durch die Drehung der Walzen zur Rakelkammer zurück transportiert werden,It is known a method for cleaning components of rolls involved in the printing process, in which first removes the ink from the doctor blade chamber and the doctor chamber with Solvent is filled, in which during the cleaning a solvent transfer permitting operative connection between the doctor chamber and the components to be cleaned by participating in the printing process rollers is maintained and in which the rollers rotate during the cleaning process, so that solvent from the doctor chamber on the zu cleaning components of the rollers involved in the printing process is transferred there thinned ink and / or dissolves dried ink, which are transported by the rotation of the rollers back to the doctor chamber,

From the patent EP 0 742 756 B1 is a method for cleaning printing forms is known in which small portions of the components of the rollers are cleaned successively. An apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a nozzle including a mixing chamber in which a fluid is provided by mixing pressurized air and a solvent. The nozzle sprays the fluid in the direction of the pressure roller, whereby dust, fibers and other particles are released from the printing plate. In addition, the device includes a nipple which sucks the fluid as well as dust, fibers and other particles from the printing forme.

The DE 195 48 535 A1 (or US-A-5816163 ) shows a cleaning method for a doctor blade chamber of a rotary printing machine. For cleaning, the residual color is pumped out of the doctor blade chamber and then rinsed with solvent in a closed circuit.

The US 5 213 044 A1 shows the cleaning method of an offset printing machine, wherein for cleaning the rollers involved in inking initially the remaining color pumped from the doctor chamber and then cleaning fluid is pumped into the same. The rollers continue to run and apply the residual color on a piece of waste of the printing material.

The EP 0 612 618 A2 shows a cleaning method for a coating system of an offset printing press. To clean this coating system, the coating fluid from the doctor blade chamber pumped and then pumped cleaning fluid and the applicator roll cleaned by turning.

The object of the invention is therefore to propose a method for cleaning components of rolls involved in the printing process, which does not require an additional device to be integrated in the inking unit and with which the components of all rollers involved in the printing process can be effectively cleaned.

The solution to this problem is achieved by a method for cleaning components of rolls involved in the printing process according to claim 1. Accordingly, first the standing in direct connection with the doctoring chamber roller is cleaned, while the operative connection with the or the other rollers is interrupted and then successively the operative connection between the respective cleaned roller and the next adjacent roller is restored. Thus, the roller which is in direct connection with the doctoring chamber is first cleaned, while no further roller is in contact with the roller which is in direct connection with the doctoring chamber. After cleaning one roller, the next adjacent roller is brought back into contact with the previously cleaned roller, again breaking the contact with the next adjacent and not yet cleaned roller. In this way, the components of all rollers involved in the printing process can be cleaned effectively successively.

The particular advantage of this method is that only the components of an inking unit are used to clean the components of rollers involved in the printing process, which are also necessary for the printing operation. In contrast to the printing operation in which the roller which is in contact with the doctoring chamber is pressurized with ink and delivers it to a further roller, the roller in contact with the doctoring chamber removes printing ink from the further roller during the cleaning operation. The ink is then washed away by the solvent in the doctoring chamber from the roller associated therewith.

It is advantageous in this case if the solvent is circulated within the doctoring chamber. This can be done in a closed circuit in which only one pump is switched between the discharge and supply. In a preferred embodiment, however, a portion of the solvent is continuously sucked out of the doctor blade chamber via the discharge line and passed, for example, into a dirt tank. The withdrawn volume is replaced by unpolluted solvent, which is fed to the doctoring chamber via the supply lines.

Advantageously, the roller in direct connection with the doctoring chamber is kept in constant rotation so that its individual surface areas are periodically brought into contact with the solvent to achieve complete washing off of the ink from the roller.

It is particularly advantageous if all rollers that are in communication with each other, rotate at the same peripheral speeds to avoid material abrasion of the components of the rollers.

In order to ensure a complete decrease of the printing ink from one roller by another roller, the rollers, between which there is a connection, are preferably made stronger against the printing operation.

Since, when the rollers are more heavily set, the individual points on the printing plates can be subjected to a flexing motion, there is a risk that the areas around the points of the printing plates will not be completely cleaned. In order to achieve complete cleaning, the direction of rotation of the rollers is advantageously reversed at least once.

For automatically carrying out the described method, a control device is preferably provided on the printing press, which also permits manual intervention in the cleaning operation if required.

In the printing operation of an inking unit 1 in a central cylinder printing machine according to FIG. 1 the ink comes in the desired format on the substrate by first on the supply line 9 from a color tank the doctoring chamber 2 is supplied. The anilox roller 3, which rotates in the direction of arrow C, takes over a part of the printing ink. For this purpose, the surface of the anilox roller has not shown, small depressions, the so-called wells into which the ink passes. The wells that come into contact with the printing forme 8, where their ink from. The printing form 8 is applied to the printing roller 4 and is moved by a rotation of the pressure roller 4 in the direction of arrow B to the printing substrate 5. There, the printing plate 8 is the adhering to her ink to the substrate 5 from. For the purpose of complete ink transfer of the printing material 5, which is supplied via a deflection roller 7, passes over the impression cylinder 6, which rotates in the direction of arrow A.

To clean the printing plate 8, the pressure roller 4 may be turned off in the manner shown by the impression cylinder 6. The directions of rotation B, C of the pressure roller 4 and the anilox roller 3 can be reversed compared to the printing operation. The cleaning process is now started by removing the printing ink from the doctoring chamber 2. Subsequently, the doctor chamber 2 is filled via the supply line 9 with solvent. So that the solvent can absorb as much ink from the anilox roll, this is circulated by constantly solvent is removed via the discharge line 10 from the doctoring chamber 2 and this and / or new solvent via the supply line 9 of the doctoring chamber 2 is supplied. If the pressure roller 4 is kept in rotation, all areas of the printing form 8 come into contact with the anilox roller 3 in one revolution, the printing form 8 delivering a portion of the ink adhering to it. In order to ensure a good ink transfer, the anilox roller 3 can be made closer to the pressure roller 4, as in the FIG. 2 can be seen. Due to the previously performed passage of the wells through the doctoring chamber 2, these are completely or partially filled with solvent, whereby the ink transfer is even improved.
