La toile de base pour peinture (6) est introduite, avant d'être tendue sur le cadre extérieur (1), dans l'évidement où elle est ensuite fixée. Après tension de la toile de base pour peinture (6) sur le cadre extérieur (1), au moins un autre cadre intérieur (27) sur lequel une autre toile pour peinture (26) peut être tendue, peut être introduit dans l'évidement (20), muni de la toile de base pour peinture (6) et peut y être fixée. l'invention permet d'obtenir une structure « toile dans la toile » qui permet à l'utilisateur, c.-à-d. au peintre, de créer un « tableau dans le tableau » et de parvenir à des effets esthétiques particuliers.
