Bei einer Verschiebung des korpusinneren Ende des Kreuzgelenkarms 20' verschiebt sich also auch der Dämpfungszylinder 32 relativ zum Kolben 36, wobei ein zwischen dem Kolben und dem Dämpfungszylinder eingeschlossenes gasförmiges oder anderes fluides Dämpfungsmedium durch gedrosselten Übertritt aus dem sich jeweils verkleinernden Dämpferraum und den sich vergrößernden Dämpferraum die gewünschte Dämpfungswirkung entfaltet. Bei geschlossenem Türflügel 12 tritt der größte Teil des Dämpfungszylinders 32 dann in der in Fig. 16 erkennbaren Weise aus dem rückwärtigen offenen Ende des Korpus-Anschlagteils 18 ins Korpusinnere vor. Claims (2)

  1. A combination of a damping device (60) with hinges (10) for the connection of furniture components pivotable relative to one another, particularly door leaves (12) or flaps connected to the carcass of a piece of furniture, in which the hinge has a connecting portion (24), constructed in the form of a hinge cup, which may be fitted recessed into a recess in the movable furniture component and which is pivotably coupled to the carcass connecting portion (18) by means of a joint mechanism (22; 20), wherein the damping device has a damping housing, e.g. a support (62), which is mounted on one of the connecting portions and in whose interior there is a fluid damping medium and a resistance element, which is movable relative to the damping medium and is coupled to an actuating element extending out of the housing, which is connected to move with the second furniture portion, at least during a portion of the pivotal movement of the two furniture portions (12; 14) relative to one another and transmits the motion imparted to it by the second furniture portion (12; 14) to the resistance element, the damper housing (62) being disposed on one of the connecting portions (18; 24) and the actuating element extending out of the damper housing (62) being pivotally coupled to the other connecting portion (24; 18) by means of at least one connecting element (64; 66), characterised in that the damper housing (32) provided on the carcass connecting portion (18) has at least one cavity, which is circular in cross-section and is filled with the fluid damping medium and in which the resistance element is mounted so as to be rotatable in the circumferential direction on a shaft (63) which extends on at least one side out of an end face of the damper housing and that the actuating element, in the form of a lever arm (64), is arranged on the end of the shaft (63) extending out of the damper housing and the one end of the elongate connecting element (66) is pivotally connected to the free end of the lever arm, the opposite second end of which connecting element is pivotally connected to the other connecting portion (24).
  2. A combination of a damping device with hinges for the connection of furniture components pivotable relative to one another, particularly door leaves (12) or flaps connected to the carcass of a piece of furniture, in which the hinge has a connecting portion (24), constructed in the form of a hinge cup, which may be fitted recessed into a recess in the movable furniture component and which is pivotably coupled to the carcass connecting portion (18) by means of a joint mechanism (22'; 20', 29), wherein the damping device has a damping housing (32) mounted on one of the connecting portions, in whose interior there is a fluid damping medium and a resistance element, which is movable relative to the damping medium and is coupled to an actuating element extending out of the housing, which is connected to move with the second furniture portion, at least during a portion of the pivotal movement of the two furniture portions (12; 14) relative to one another and transmits the motion imparted to it by the second furniture portion (12; 14) to the resistance element, the damper housing (32) being disposed on one of the connecting portions (18; 24) and the actuating element extending out of the damper housing (32) being pivotally coupled to the other connecting portion (24; 18) by means of at least one connecting element (20'), characterised in that the hinge is constructed in the form of a universal joint hinge (10') known per se, in which one of the universal joint arms (20') is longitudinally movably and pivotably coupled to the carcass connecting portion (18) at a rear end directed towards the interior of the carcass by means of a sliding guide, the sliding guide being constituted by respective grooves (27) provided in two spaced, parallel side surfaces of the carcass connecting portion (18), constructed in the form of an elongate body, and respective peg (25), which is provided by parallel, lateral cheeks (20a; 20b) of the universal joint arm (20') engaging over the side surfaces and engages into the respective associated groove (27), that the damper housing (32) has an elongate cylindrical cavity (34), which is filled with the fluid damping medium and in which a piston (36), constituting a resistance element, is longitudinally movably disposed, which is engaged by a piston rod (38) constituting the actuating element, the end of which remote from the piston extends out of the damper housing (32), wherein the damping device (100) is arranged in an open, elongate cavity (31), which is provided centrally between the side surfaces of the carcass connecting portion (18) on the end of the carcass connecting portion (18) directed towards the interior of the carcass and the grooves (27) constituting a portion of the sliding guide extend from the side surfaces of the carcass connecting portion (18) into the cavity (31) and that the free end of the piston rod (38) of the damping device (100) is movably provided at the front end, closest to the door leaf, in the damper housing, constructed in the form of a damping cylinder, and the free inner ends of the pegs (25), which project from the cheeks (20a, 20b) of the universal joint arm (20') through the grooves (27) into the elongate cavity (31) are connected to move with the damping cylinder (32).
