It is known to provide generic hinges for furniture with a closing spring that pulls a not completely closed door in the final closed position. The dampers can be mounted as independent components on the furniture or integrated into the hinge.

The object of the invention is to improve a hinge of the type mentioned in that a conventional hinge can be retrofitted with a fluid damper. This retrofitting can be done at the factory. The basic idea is that a hinge that functions without damper can be equipped with a fluid damper that is fully integrated into the hinge.

The object according to the invention is achieved in that the fluid damper is arranged on one of the stop parts and is permanently connected to the second stop part via an actuating mechanism independent of the hinge joint.

The damping fluid can be formed by a liquid, preferably an oil or a gas or gas mixture, preferably air. The fluid damper can be designed both as a rotary damper and as a linear damper.

Another object of the invention is to provide a hinge with an improved closing or opening mechanism.
