Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a mattress base made of a permanently elastic material, in particular a mattress, therapy pad or a support for a mattress.
  • mattress is used instead of the term lying mattress, whereby the invention is not limited to a mattress, but rather should refer to all suitable mattress bases.
  • therapy documents are meant on which the user does not sleep, but to which he only lasts for a short time, for example, a few minutes to hours. This can be the case, for example, in the context of physiotherapy or treatment.
  • Mattresses are known in a variety of different designs. Most mattresses are designed either as spring mattresses or as foam or latex mattresses. In principle, they serve the purpose of providing the user with maximum comfort.
  • transverse rib supports For the treatment of back complaints flexible mattress supports are known from the prior art, which have a plurality of upwardly directed transverse ribs. If a person lies on such a mat, the transverse ribs are predetermined deformed under the influence of the weight of the person, whereby a certain extension of the spine is achieved.
  • the transverse ribs are arranged inclined for this purpose, wherein the transverse ribs in the region of the buttocks and the legs in the direction of a foot-side transverse side of the mattress and the transverse ribs in the region of the back and the head point in the direction of a head-side transverse side of the mattress.
  • Such a mattress or support is known from DE 37 31 828 A1. Similar conditions are shown in DE 101 46 437 A1 and DE 299 18 588 U1.
  • the known conditions and mattresses all have the disadvantage that they are not individually changeable. Although it is possible to produce the described edition and mattresses made of different hard materials, an already produced edition or mattress is no longer changeable. As a result, due to its construction, it is well-suited for stretched people, for example, for normally built people, but not for people with a wide pelvis or shoulders. The predefined stretching effect of the known lying pad can not be changed. This has the disadvantage that it is impossible to adapt the pad to the different clinical pictures and personal needs of the spine.
  • the once-defined properties have the disadvantage that the user who determines after a certain time that he would, for example, a mattress with stronger stretching effect more pleasant than his, can not change his already used mattress.
  • the publications DE 297 22 956, DE 2 99 16 561 and DE 29719 194 show Mattresses or couches, which also have transverse ribs, which are intended to stretch the spine.
  • the pamphlets continue to deal with the possibility of changing the degree of hardness of such a mattress or couch. This is achieved by insertions or inserts, which are inserted below the transverse ribs approximately parallel to these.
  • it has been found that the adjustment of the degree of hardness alone does not lead to satisfactory results in terms of adaptation to the individual needs of a user.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a mattress with which a certain extension of the spine is reached, but their properties are variable in contrast to the prior art.
  • the support elements consist in a first advantageous embodiment of the same material from which the mattress base itself consists.
  • foam materials such as latex, are suitable.
  • the adjustment of the properties or the hardness of the mattress thus takes place by inserting or omitting the support elements.
  • the stretching effect of individual transverse ribs can be canceled by the fact that they can no longer tilt in the direction of the respective transverse side under load due to the filling with a support element.
  • entire areas of the mattress can be changed in their properties. This can be important, for example, if the user initially requires more stretching because of his clinical picture, but later requires less stretching.
  • Support elements which consist of the same material as the mattress itself, can be produced according to the invention in a simple and inexpensive manufacturing process. From a mattress base strips are cut out to create the gaps, advantageously using a CNC-controlled cutting machine. These strips can then be used again as support elements. Thus, the manufacturing steps “profiling of the mattress base” or “creation of transverse ribs” and “production of the support elements” are summarized in a single manufacturing step.
  • the support elements do not fill each an entire gap between two transverse ribs; Rather, multiple support elements in only one space be used.
  • a plurality of support elements can be arranged one above the other, each extending over the entire longitudinal extent of a gap, a support element of the first embodiment is divided so to speak in the longitudinal direction into a plurality of individual support elements, resulting in multiple longitudinal strips.
  • a space can be filled with multiple support elements, but it can also be used only one support element.
  • a plurality of support elements are not one above the other, but next to each other, can be used in a space. It is also advantageous if only a mattress of 2 people is used at the same time, as is often the case with double bed mattresses. It is then possible to adapt the mattress individually to both persons, so the mattress can be divided into a left and a right area.
  • the properties of the mattress can be changed only by the insertion or omission of the support elements
  • the hardness of the mattress can be subsequently changed in regions at any time.
  • the support elements may also consist of materials other than the mattress, for. B. plastic or wood.
  • the support elements may be coated such that they have only a low frictional resistance, so they can slide during insertion along the inner walls of the interstices. This effect may be enhanced by the fact that the inner walls the spaces are coated. Especially with mattresses made of foam or latex, such a coating may be necessary to allow a simple and fast insertion of the support elements in the interstices or to favor.
  • those support elements which are arranged one above the other in a gap are interconnected so that they can not move relative to each other. This is to prevent the upper support element from sliding over the lower one over time.
  • support elements in regions at their ends with each other. This can be done via rigid elements that run on the outside of the mattress in the longitudinal direction of the mattress. About such elements, the yielding or buckling of the transverse ribs can be completely canceled or strengthened.
  • a planar heating element can be arranged within the mattress, but this can also be designed as an additional component independently of the mattress.
  • the mattress base or the mattress can be improved by further providing cavities in the mattress under the transverse ribs.
  • these cavities also support elements are introduced, over which the properties of the mattress are additionally changed.
  • the mattress is adjustable both by the insertion and omission, as well as by the selection of different hard support elements.
  • the support elements or the inner walls the cavities are coated to facilitate insertion.
  • the cavities can be arranged arbitrarily, as long as there is a noticeable effect for the user. It has been found that it is precisely the extent of the cavities in the transverse direction of the mattress that it is advantageous to be able to set different degrees of hardness, for example the pelvis and the shoulders.
  • the cavities can extend continuously from one longitudinal edge to the other longitudinal edge of the mattress, but they can also be designed as depressions, which are accessible only through an opening.
  • Hollows in the longitudinal direction of the mattress base are useful if the degree of hardness of the mattress should be adjustable differently for a single mattress for the individual user.
  • a lying pad 10 preferably a mattress
  • a second transverse side 14 in the illustrated embodiment, the foot side a user not facing a top 16 and a user facing away from the bottom 18.
  • the two transverse sides 12, 14 are connected to each other via two longitudinal sides 20.
  • transverse ribs 22 are formed, some of which are inclined in the direction of the first transverse side 12 and some in the direction of the second transverse side 14. Between the transverse ribs 22 are intermediate spaces 24. Preferably, starting from the first transverse side 12, the following adjacent transverse ribs 22 in the direction of the first transverse side 12, and then the next adjacent transverse ribs 22 are inclined in the direction of the second transverse side 14.
  • cavities 26 are provided between the transverse ribs 22 and the underside 18.
  • the cavities extend from one longitudinal side 20 to the opposite longitudinal side 20.
  • each cavity 26 is associated with a section that extends from the bottom 18 to the cavity 26 and extends along the entire cavity 26.
  • support elements 30 can be seen by way of example. These can be introduced both into the intermediate spaces 24 and into the cavities 26.
  • two support elements 30 are shown, namely an upper support element 30a and a lower support element 30b, which are each arranged above one another in a gap 24 and each extend over the entire length of the intermediate spaces 24.
