Abstract

La présente invention concerne une pile de cellules électrochimiques composée de plusieurs cellules électrochimiques (2) de structure polymère-électrolyte-membrane, disposées les unes sur les autres. Une plaque bipolaire (7) est respectivement logée entre des unités membrane-électrode adjacentes (4, 5, 6), chaque plaque bipolaire comportant des canaux longitudinaux (10) destinés à l'alimentation d'hydrogène et des canaux transversaux (8) destinés à l'alimentation d'oxygène et au refroidissement. Des canaux collecteurs (11), prévus sur le côté d'écoulement pour un canal de refroidissement sur deux, permettent de produire un flux dans les canaux d'air (8) lorsque la pile est traversée bilatéralement par le fluide de refroidissement, des canaux adjacents de la même cellule électrochimique (2) étant alors respectivement traversés par des courants de sens opposés. Ainsi, il est possible de créer une répartition très homogène de la température à l'intérieur de la cellule (2) ou de la pile (1).
