- Foaming agent can be added to the quenching water in both the low pressure as well as in the high pressure sectors. This foaming agent is fed into the low pressure quenching water and high pressure quenching water pipes with the aid of mixing units.
- Such mixing units are comparatively large-scale and correspondingly expensive. On the one hand, they have to enable a relatively accurate dosage of the added foaming agent and, on the other hand, work against the pressure existing in the quenching water pipes.
