Abstract

An outsole ( 1, 3 ), in particular, for athletic shoes ( 2 ) can be realized with a significant elastic deformability in the tangential direction so as to also achieve a superior shock-absorption when the foot contacts the ground obliquely and with a slight propulsive force. According to the invention, the sole ( 1 ) essentially is only rigid to a tangential deformation beyond at least one critical point of deformation in the region that is deformed to this critical point. This results in a correspondingly increased stability for the runner in the respective point of contact or load application. The runner is also able to push off from the point of load application without any loss in distance. A floating effect on the sole is prevented. The sole can be affixed, as a whole or in a plurality of parts, also detachably to an intermediate sole ( 4 ) of the shoe ( 2 ).

Description

Laufsohle outsole
TECHNISCHES GEBIETTECHNICAL AREA
The present invention relates to an outsole, in particular for sports shoes, with elastic deformability even in the tangential direction.
With deformation in the tangential direction, a e.g. deformation caused by shear in the direction tangential or parallel to the planar extent of the outsole or its tread can be understood. A distinction must be made between e.g. deformations caused by compression in the direction perpendicular to the flat expansion of the outsole or its tread. On a horizontal surface, the directions coincide tangentially with approximately horizontal and vertically with approximately vertically.
STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART
Outsoles with resiliently resilient outsoles are known in large numbers and in a wide variety of designs, with a wide variety of resilient materials with different hardnesses being used. Outsoles with embedded air or gel pads are also known. They are intended to cushion the stresses that occur when running, thereby protecting the runner's musculoskeletal system, especially his joints, and also conveying a pleasant feeling of running.
Most running shoes for sports purposes currently available on the market have spring characteristics which allow suspension primarily in the vertical direction or in the direction perpendicular to the tread with compression of the sole, but which are relatively stiff in the horizontal or tangential direction and are therefore inclined and somewhat not give in sufficiently to the pushing appearance. The latter One reason for this may be that a greater deformability of the sole in the horizontal direction would inevitably produce a kind of swimming effect, which would have a negative effect on the stability and stability of the runner. At least the runner would lose a certain amount of distance with each step, since the sole would only slightly deform in the opposite direction when pushing off from the point of impact in the desired direction of movement. To a certain extent, of course, the swimming effect already occurs in the well-known sports shoes.
DARSTELLUNG DER ERFINDUNGPRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention has for its object to provide an outsole that can be made sufficiently soft and resilient even in the tangential direction while avoiding the floating effect described with simple training.
The object is achieved by an outsole with elastic deformability even in the tangential direction, which is characterized in that it is essentially rigid with respect to tangential deformation only beyond at least one critical deformation in the region deformed so far.
With a suitable choice of the at least one critical deformation and the necessary load on the outsole with a suitable setting of its hardness or compliance, it can be achieved that the sole according to the invention is also tangentially soft and flexible over a wide range of deformation, and locally limits the critical deformation when running is only reached in the maximum loaded zone of the sole and only around the maximum allowable time.
Adequate cushioning is achieved on the one hand, even in the event of an oblique and or somewhat pushing appearance, but on the other hand also a secure stand at the respective point of occurrence or load, from which the runner can repel himself directly and without loss of path. The floating effect described is avoided.
It goes without saying that depending on the structural conditions, the critical deformation, in which the tangential deformability of the inventive Outsole is frozen, so to speak, depending on the type of deformation. The deformation does not only have to be tangential. Critical deformation can also be achieved with purely vertical or vertical deformation.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the critical deformation is only achieved after a tangential and / or vertical deformation path which is greater than 20% of the deformable thickness of the sole, possibly even greater than 50% of this thickness. In absolute terms this can make up a few cm.
In terms of construction and materials technology, the teaching according to the invention can basically be implemented in many different ways. Various examples of this are also described below with reference to the drawings. As preferred embodiments, only those in which e.g. two layers of the sole are separated by a particularly elastically deformable element, and the deformable element, with a sufficiently large deformation, enables the two layers to come into contact with one another in a frictional, force-fitting and / or form-fitting manner and largely prevents parallel movement of the two layers.
In a development of the invention, the sole can be provided with means for releasable attachment to a midsole of a shoe. If the sole is made of several parts, its individual parts can be attached independently of one another and / or, e.g. in the event of wear, individual parts can be replaced. In this case, differently designed parts could also be made available and / or individual patterns generated, which are particularly adapted to the respective needs and the running style of the individual runner.

OF IMPLEMENTING THE INVENTION An embodiment will first be described with reference to FIG. 1, which is not necessarily the preferred one, but on the basis of which the inventive teaching can be represented well.
Fig. 1 shows a running shoe 2 equipped with an outsole 1 according to the invention. The running sole 1 is formed by a plurality of profile-like hollow elements 3 which have tubes 3.1 and with molded webs 3.2 on the underside of a midsole 4 of the running shoe 1 e.g. are attached by gluing. The hollow elements 3 are made of a material such as a rubber material, which can at least partially deform elastically under the loads that occur during running. The material preferably also has high static friction compared to other materials, but above all also to itself. Several of the hollow elements 3 are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the running shoe 2, a gap being left in the area between the ball and the heel. The hollow elements 3 can extend over the entire respective width of the running shoe 2. However, as shown in FIG. 2, two or even more such hollow elements 3 could also be arranged side by side.
If the running shoe 2 as shown in Fig. 1 b) and illustrated by the loading arrow P1, for example, is loaded obliquely to the front when it occurs, there is an initial elastic cushioning of the load under vertical but also horizontal deformation of the tubular parts 3.1 with suitable dimensioning of these parts a complete compression of the same and thereby a frictional connection between their upper half-shell 3.1.1 and their lower half-shell 3.1.2 (see ig. 3). The frictional engagement opposes a further horizontal deformation of the tubes 3.1 with such a high resistance that this is practically only possible within the scope of the remaining elasticity of the material and thus to no appreciable extent. In this position and in this condition, the runner 1 therefore practically no longer has a horizontal position Slidable connection to the floor 5 and has a good and secure stand.
In addition, as shown in FIG. 1 under c), the runner can also push off again from the position according to FIG. 2 to carry out the next step, without having to accept a loss of path, because the described Frictionally, the tubular parts 3.1 can practically not deform horizontally to any significant extent in the direction of the new load indicated by the arrow P2 when repelled. The prerequisite here is, of course, that the load on the defective area of the sole is maintained between the occurrence and the push-off, which is the case with normal running.
Fig. 2 shows the running shoe 2 of Fig. 1 in a view from behind, under a) unloaded and under b) laterally loaded obliquely. Here, too, the tubular parts 3.1 of the hollow elements 3 can be compressed, creating a frictional connection between their upper 3.1.1 and lower half-shell 3.1.2, as a result of which the wearer of the running shoe 2 also has a stable and practically unyielding connection to the bottom 5 from the side ,
Mit dem Schuh von Fig. 1 und 2 schwebt der Läufer "wie auf Wolken", hat dabei aber zu keinem Zeitpunkt ein unsicheresThe embodiment explained above is characterized by extremely large deformation paths, which can be more than 20%, possibly even more than 50%, between the unloaded state according to FIG. 1 a) and the state with the frictional connection according to FIG. 1 b) , With the shoe of FIGS. 1 and 2, the runner hovers "as if on clouds", but at no time has an insecure one
Feelings of standing and in the respective appearance always provide a direct, firm and therefore secure connection to the floor.
Insbesondere wird auch hier, wie in Fig. 4 unter b) dargestellt, beim Zusammendrücken der röhrenförmigen Hohlelemente 6.1 einFIG. 3 again shows the hollow elements 3 of FIG. 1 in a detailed representation, namely under a) unloaded and under b) tangentially loaded. Under c), a vertical deformation is shown straight down, from which it is clear that the advantages explained above with regard to stability and pushing off can be achieved without loss of travel, even with a purely vertical load. In the outsole 6 of FIG. 4, tubular hollow elements 6.1 are again provided, for example made of a rubber material, but here are arranged between an upper 6.2 and a lower layer 6.3 and are each firmly connected to these layers. The two layers 6.2 and 6.3 extend over the entire surface of the outsole. The upper layer 6.2 could in principle be formed by an existing layer or intermediate layer of the shoe. The lower layer 6.3 could also be provided with a profile. 4, which is shown under a) in the unloaded state, is fundamentally similar to the previously described outsole 1 of FIG. 2. In particular, as shown in FIG. 4 under b), the Compress the tubular hollow elements 6.1
Friction between their upper and their lower half-shell come about. Via the thrust effect exerted by the lower layer 6.3, the deformation of the hollow elements 6.1 under load, however, may be distributed over a larger area.
In the embodiment of FIG. 5, two separate parts 7.1 and 7.2 are initially provided for the ball and the heel area of the outsole 7. In principle, this separate training could also be used in the other examples explained. Furthermore, only simple, elastically deformable webs 7.1.3 and 7.2.3 are arranged between an upper layer 7.1.1 and 7.2.1 and a lower layer 7.2.1 and 7.2.2, respectively. Under load, they lay down e.g. flat between the two outer layers, as shown for example in Fig. 5 under b). If a material with a high coefficient of friction is used again for the outer layers and the webs, the situation shown in FIG. 5 b) again results in a frictional engagement similar to that already described. The upper and lower layers thus partially assume the function of the above-described upper and lower half-shells of the tubular parts of FIG. 1, whereas the webs can be functionally equated with the flanks of the tubular parts, two of which are opposite in FIG. 3 with 3.1 .3 and 3.1.4 are designated.
In the outsole 8 of FIG. 6, no physical elastic elements are provided between an upper 8.1 and a lower layer 8.2. Rather, the upper and lower layers are closed by circumferential side parts 8.3 Volume 8.4 connected, which is filled with a fluid. The fluid can be a gas such as in particular air, but also a gel, for example. It is important that the outsole, as shown again under b), can be deformed to such an extent under the loads that occur that the upper and lower layers 8.1 and 8.2 can touch one another in the respective load range. If a material with a high coefficient of friction is selected for the two layers, there is again frictional engagement with the advantageous properties described.
If an incompressible gel is used as the filling mass for the volume 8.4, it may have to be elastically stretchable in whole or in part so that the desired effect can occur. In the case of filling the volume 8.4 with a gas, e.g. A valve 8.5 may also be provided in the heel area. By changing the gas pressure it would then be possible to change the elastic properties and the resilience of the outsole and thereby e.g. to adapt to the weight or the running behavior of the runner.
Instead of a frictional engagement, in the examples described above, as in a partial illustration of an outsole 9 in FIG. 7, use could also be made of a positive fit, in that between an upper and a lower layer 9.1 and 9.2 e.g. a kind of interlocking is provided.
According to a further development of the invention, the sole can be provided with means that allow it to be detachably attached to a midsole of the shoe. The sole can be detachably attached as a whole, in parts or only with respect to individual parts. 8 shows a running shoe 2, in which the entire sole 1, but in individual parts, is detachably attached to an midsole 4 of the running shoe 2. The sole 1 is formed here, as in the example of FIG. 1, by a plurality of profile-like hollow elements 3, which have tubes 3.1 and are detachably fastened to the underside of the midsole 4 with molded webs 3.2, or only releasably with respect to the hollow elements arranged in the ball area Attachment to the underside of the midsole 4 are provided. As can be seen clearly from the enlarged detail A in FIG. 8, a so-called hook and loop fastener 10, which can be produced and removed again in many ways, is used as the fastening means, the webs 3.2 of the hollow elements 3 being hook-shaped trained position 10.1 of the Velcro 10 are provided. Correspondingly, the midsole 4, preferably over the entire surface, is provided with the complementary, ie the loop-shaped layer 10.2 of the Velcro fastener 10. The two layers of the Velcro fastener can each be firmly glued to the hollow elements on the one hand and the midsole on the other.
The detachable fastening initially has the advantage that the sole according to the invention may only be needed if necessary, e.g. attached to the midsole immediately before and during a training run and the shoe can also be used without this sole. This makes sense above all if the sole according to the invention to achieve long spring travel e.g. is seen with relatively voluminous hollow elements. To protect the midsole and the loop layer of a Velcro fastener, which is preferably attached to it, a protective layer which can also be alternatively attached by means of a Velcro fastener could be provided in this case, but this is not shown here.
On the other hand, the detachable fastening has the advantage that a worn sole can be exchanged for a new one. In the case of a multi-part design of the sole, as in the example of FIG. 8, only individual parts could also be exchanged, as a result of which, for example, the uneven wear of the sole caused by the individual running style of each runner could be taken into account. In this case, however, each runner could also put together his own sole with the optimal damping properties, for example, through a special arrangement of the individual parts. As an example of this, FIG. 9 shows the running shoe of FIG. 8 in two views from the rear, two rows of hollow elements 3 being arranged next to one another in the heel region under a) and three under b). For an individual design of the sole according to the invention, differently designed parts with different properties could also be made available by the manufacturer. As an example of this, FIG. 8 shows a hollow element 3 ' arranged in the main load area of the sole, which is provided with a larger wall thickness and is therefore somewhat stiffer to deformation than the other hollow elements, for example.
Fig. 10 also shows a slightly modified hollow element 3 "for an outsole according to the invention compared to the hollow elements of Fig. 3, wherein this Hollow element 3 "is provided with a flat base surface. In addition, the wall thickness of the element is not the same everywhere. It has been shown that with the shape shown, an even better standing feeling and an improved push-off can be achieved from the point of appearance.
Fig. 11 zeigt schliesslich noch eine weitere Ausführungsform eines einzelnen Sohlenelements 11 für eine Laufsohle nach der Erfindung, welches an Stelle eines horizontalen ein vertikal ausgerichtetes Röhrchen aufweist.11 finally shows yet another embodiment of a single sole element 11 for an outsole according to the invention, which has a vertically oriented tube instead of a horizontal one.
BEZEICHNUNGSLISTEThe embodiments described above are to be understood in such a way that some of their elements or features can also be used, if appropriate, or in combination with other of the embodiments. This applies, for example, to the division of the outsole into a ball and a heel part and the provision of a profile. In the same way, frictional locking and positive locking means could be used alternatively or in combination with one another. The embodiments of FIG. 4 or 5 could be combined with that of FIG. 6, in which, in the embodiments of FIGS. 4 or 5, an elastic and / or damping medium or fluid is introduced into cavities that are naturally to be found there. Conversely, mechanical suspension or damping elements could also be provided in FIG. 6. In the development of the invention, in which the sole according to the invention as a whole or at least parts thereof can be detachably attached to a midsole, instead of a Velcro fastener with a hook-shaped layer and a loop-shaped or felt-like layer, a Velcro fastener with two matching hook-shaped layers could also be sent are, such a Velcro fastener has a higher adhesive force. Alternatively or in addition, the detachable connection could also be produced with a special, removable adhesive. NAME LIST
