Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a shoe cyclist hold wedge of the shoe on a pedal with automatic fixing.
  • the concept of "automatic” is related to the fact that the shoe has a fastening member or wedge retainer in the form of a plate fixed under the sole of the boot and intended to trigger a hands-free attachment by simply requesting this hold against the means of attachment provided on the pedal.
  • These are connected to the body of the pedal and comprise a fixed front member engaging the wedge and a movable rear movable member which can be resiliently tilted between a release position of the hold and a retaining position thereof against a restraint plan on the pedal body.
  • the pedals of this kind differ from each other essentially by the implementation of the automatic fixing means used to connect the cleat to the pedal body.
  • These pedals are now widely known and will not be described in more detail, especially since they do not relate directly to the invention, but rather constitute the field of application of the invention.
  • the invention relates in particular to the implementation of a cyclist's shoe used with an automatic pedal and comprising means for fixing such a hold wedge.
  • these fastening means are arranged in the thickness of the sole and comprise three plates each of which is provided with a threaded hole adapted to cooperate a fastening screw passing through a hole made in the sole to secure the hold. restraint. These three plates are arranged in the corners of an imaginary triangle.
  • the retainer which has a generally triangular shape, has three longitudinal grooves, namely a front central groove and two rear lateral grooves, receiving the fixing screws.
  • a housing is formed around each groove to receive a spacer also provided with a longitudinal groove. The head of the corresponding fixing screw thus bears against this spacer. This arrangement allows the longitudinal positioning of the hold and the housing is sufficiently wide relative to the spacer to allow a certain transverse positioning to position the shim relative to the sole in a specific use position.
  • the initial positioning of the retaining wedge during its fixing under the sole of the boot is very important for the cyclist since the correct positioning conditions on the one hand the effectiveness of the pedaling by a good transmission of efforts, and allows on the other hand to avoid pathologies, muscular or articular, which can result from a bad position of the hold.
  • the retainer is a wear part that must be replaced periodically or after accidental damage.
  • the known shoes have no means for locating exactly the position of the shim relative to the sole and the user is reduced to using tracings or adhesives arranged under the sole before disassembly of a shim to replace it with a new hold so that it can be placed in exactly the same position as the previous one.
  • a cycling shoe having the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP-A-1 236 410.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy this drawback by proposing a cyclist's shoe provided with means making it possible to "memorize” the current position of the hold and to save it for the correct positioning of a new hold.
  • the object of the invention is a cyclist's shoe comprising a sole provided with means for attaching a shim of the boot to an automatic pedal cycle, said fastening means comprising first fasteners arranged in the thickness of the soleplate facing through holes made in the soleplate and allowing said first fasteners to cooperate with second fasteners acting on said shim to tighten against the sole, and means for positioning the shim relative to the soleplate making it possible to place the shim in a determined position of use prior to attachment thereof by means of said fixing means, characterized in that it furthermore comprises a marking device comprising means for registering the shim said specific use position of the wedge allowing the establishment of another similar hold in said determined position of use, said locating means comprising a first locating member longitudinally displaceable relative to the sole, and a means of link passing through a longitudinal slot in the soleplate to connect said first locating member to a second locating member so as to immobilize them relative to each other in said determined use position of the wedge.
  • FIG. 1 shows a sole 1 of a cyclist's shoe (not shown) and a shim 2 for retaining the boot on a cycle pedal (not shown).
  • the shim 2 has in the example shown a generally triangular shape.
  • the sole 1 is provided with wedge fixing means arranged in the thickness of the sole.
  • these fixing means comprise a T-shaped element 3 housed in a recess 4 of the sole 1 and provided with a first fastener in the form of a threaded fastening hole 5 at each end adapted to receive , respectively, a second fixing member in the form of a fixing screw 6 of the shim 2 under the sole 1.
  • the fixing holes 5 are arranged opposite through holes 7 made in the sole.
  • the fastening screws 6 also extend through through holes 8 made in the holding wedge 2, to be screwed into the fastening holes 5 in the sole 1 in order to clamp the wedge against it.
  • the holes include a front center hole and two rear side holes.
  • the through holes 8 are in the form of longitudinal slots.
  • a shoulder 9 (see Figures 6 and 7) is formed on the outer face of the shim 2 around each longitudinal slot so as to define a housing 10 for an elongate spacer 11 provided with a longitudinal slot 12 aligned with the corresponding longitudinal slot 8 of the shim 2 and having a reduced width relative to the width of the slot 8, the first width corresponding essentially to the diameter of the screw shank 6.
  • each fastening screw 6 extends through the slots 8 and 12 so that its head bears against this spacer when clamping the wedge against the sole 1.
  • the housing 10 has a manner known per se greater width than that of the spacer 11 so as to allow some transverse displacement of the spacer inside the housing (see Figure 7).
  • the retaining shim 2 also comprises a central through hole 13 constituting, in a manner known per se, a housing for a non-skid pad 14 protruding from the outer face of the shim.
  • the fixing means of the shim 2 under the sole 1 are associated with a device 15 for identifying the position of use of the shim 2, enabling a new shim to be placed in this position. determined use.
  • a first embodiment of this locating device 15 is shown in FIGS. 1 to 6 and 10.
  • the marking device 15 comprises locating means comprising a first locating member 16 slidably mounted in the longitudinal direction inside the recess 4 of the sole 1, and a second locating member 17 placed in a housing 18 provided on the upper face of the retaining wedge 2. These first and second locating members 16, 17 can be moved longitudinally and transversely relative to the sole 1 to be immobilized in the determined use position of the wedge 2.
  • the first registration member 16 comprises a plate provided with a threaded hole 19 adapted to cooperate with the threaded rod of a screw 20 constituting a connecting member between the first and second registration members 16, 17.
  • This connecting member is adapted to immobilize the first and second registration members 16, 17 relative to each other by passing through a transverse slot 21 provided in the second registration member, also in the form of a plate, and a slot longitudinal 22 provided in the sole 1 to be screwed into the threaded hole 19 of the first register member 16.
  • the fixing means of the shim 2 comprise a T-plate 3 carrying a threaded fixing hole 5 at each end
  • the wafer 16 is slidably mounted as a slider on the web of the T-plate and therefore, this T-plate is provided with a longitudinal slot 23 disposed facing the longitudinal slot 22 of the sole 1 to allow the fastening screw 20 to pass and move longitudinally while being guided in the slots 22, 23.
  • the first registration member 16 in the form of a plate advantageously comprises on its underside a protrusion 24 (see FIG. 6) which protrudes into the longitudinal slot 23 of the T-shaped element so as to form a guide means for the wafer 16 during the longitudinal displacement of the latter.
  • the first registration member 16 preferably further comprises a pair of lateral tabs 25. These tabs also provide the locking in rotation of the register member 16 during the tightening of the fixing screw 20.
  • the plate of the second registration member 17 can freely enter the housing 18 provided on the upper face of the holding wedge 2 when it is fixed under the sole 1. When this plate is in the housing 18, it is there completely blocked by a complementarity of forms at least partially between the shape of the contour of the wafer and the inner shape of the housing (see Figure 4).
  • the wafer has at its rear end a central notch 26 adapted to receive a projection in the form of a central rib 27 of complementary shape at the rear of the housing 18.
  • the central rib 27 comes into longitudinal abutment against the bottom of the notch 26 of the second locating member 17.
  • the latter has at its front end a rounded protuberance 28 having a shape adapted to cooperate with a recess 29 of FIG. corresponding form of housing 18.
  • the plate of the second registration member 17 comprises around the transverse slot 21 a shoulder 30 disposed on the outer face of the plate to serve as a bearing surface to the head of the fixing screw 20 of the marking device 15 .
  • FIG. 7 A second embodiment of the tracking device according to the invention is shown in Figures 7 and 8, while Figures 4, 5 and 9 may be considered as common to both embodiments.
  • FIG. 7 is an exploded view of this second embodiment which differs essentially from the first embodiment in that the T-element acts as a first registration member and therefore the wafer 16 of the first embodiment has been removed.
  • the T-piece is thus mounted longitudinally displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the sole 1 and has instead of the longitudinal slot 23 a tapped hole 19 for receiving the fixing screw 20 of the second locating member 17 against the face. bottom of sole 1.
  • the through holes 7 fixing the wedge under the sole 1 are constituted not by circular holes, but by longitudinal slots to allow the longitudinal displacement of the element T 3.
  • the longitudinal slot 22 of the first embodiment remains the same.
  • the T-shaped element 3 For guiding the T-shaped element 3, it advantageously comprises on its underside around at least two of the fixing holes 5 and 19 a protuberance 24 projecting into a corresponding slot.
  • a protuberance 24 projecting into a corresponding slot.
  • the two holes 5, 19 which are aligned with one another on the core of the element are preferably chosen.
  • these protuberances 24 can easily be obtained without specific machining when the tapped holes are made and it is of course advantageous to provide around all four fixing holes 5, 19 such guiding protrusion.
  • the tracking device 15 it is therefore possible to perform, during the first installation of a retaining wedge 2 under the sole 1 of the shoe, a single initial positioning of the wedge in the longitudinal and transverse directions relative to the sole 1 to place the shim in a position of specific use optimally adapted to the user, and to find the same position of use determined when replacing the shim by a new similar hold.
  • the marking device 15 remains fixed under the sole after removal of the first shim (see Figure 10) so as to locate the exact position thereof.
  • the marking device 15 will move automatically with the shim 2 during positioning thereof.
  • the fixing screw 20 of the marking device 15 remains accessible through the central through hole 13 receiving the non-slip pad 14 so that it is possible to adjust the position of use of the hold at any time. first loosening the fixing screw 20 of the marking device 15 and then the three fixing screws 6 of the shim. Then, the shim can be moved with the registration device 15 in the longitudinal and transverse directions and when the adjustment is completed, all the screws 6 and 20 are tightened again.
  • the pad also acts as a protective cap for this screw.
