Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for printing a file on sheets with tab sheets inserted between them and a method for printing a file on a tab sheet.
  • Tab sheets are usually rectangular sheets of solid paper or cardboard with a flag that protrudes a little from the rectangular area. Processes for printing register sheets are included
  • the known methods are not very flexible, since when using a set of register pages with a different total number of register pages, a corresponding stack of register pages is placed in the input compartment and the control has to be modified accordingly.

  • the printing system has a paper path in which the paper to be printed is conveyed.
  • This system is equipped with a device, in particular a video camera, for the automatic detection of an error. If an error is detected, the sheet on which the error has been found and all subsequent sheets in the paper path are discarded to a specified rejection point. In addition, up to three sheets can be discarded in front of the sheet in which the error has been found. With this system, the sheets in the paper path are removed if an error occurs. Then an automatic troubleshooting procedure is carried out and the copying or printing process is continued at a suitable point.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a method for printing a file on sheets with tabs inserted between them, which allows both simple troubleshooting and greater flexibility in printing the tabs.

Therefore, it is possible if the mapping between the tab sheet file parameters and the tab sheet printing parameters It should not be true that some tabs are pulled out of the input slot until the assignment is restored. For example, will fewer ghost sheets are required when they are contained in the stacks, it may be appropriate, for example, to only pull in every second or third register sheet of a stack, to process them and to insert them between the printed sheets. • the printer only has a single output slot, it is in principle also possible for the discarded register sheets to be printed with a corresponding error marking, for example in the printing area of the flag. It is known to use counters of this type for determining the sheets and register sheets which have not been printed correctly due to a paper jam and for resetting the number of pages in the file to be printed accordingly.
  • Filling level counters 21 (21/1, 21/2, 21/3), which determine the filling level of the individual input shafts 15 and on the basis of which the control device 14 can update the register sheet printing parameters accordingly, are preferably arranged on the input shafts 15.

It is essential for the invention that, in the event of a paper jam, it can happen that a register sheet is next to be pulled out in the input slot 15/1, which is unsuitable for the further printing process and this problem by comparing the register sheet file parameters with the register sheet Printing parameters is fixed. Another problem with conventional methods is when the number of register sheets required in a print job or print job is less than the number of a stack of register sheets available. With conventional methods, the set of register sheets in the input slot had to be replaced by another set of register sheets with a correspondingly adjusted number of register sheets.
