Definitions
- the invention is directed to a label for bottles and containers, in particular for the neck of bottles, such as beer bottles, consisting of a film, in particular an aluminum foil, which is provided with an embossment.
- Such a label is known from EP 1 293 951 A2.
- known labels of this type consisted of a soft-annealed aluminum foil with a thickness of, for example, 11 ⁇ m.
- the front side of these labels is painted, e.g. for producing a gold-tone base tone, and with a print, e.g. the respective beer brand reproduces provided.
- EP 1 293 951 proposes a label in which the inside of an aluminum foil is provided with a structured imprint in order to preserve the basic advantages of a thin aluminum foil on the one hand and to enable separation or general problem-free processing on the other hand ,
- the present invention seeks to provide a label which is reliable and fast processable, while also having an improved decoration effect, especially gloss effect.
- embossing has a plurality of substantially parallel extending embossing grooves, said embossing grooves are substantially perpendicular to the applied in the applied state of the label vertically extending center longitudinal axis of the label.
- embossing grooves run parallel to the central longitudinal axis.
- the eye of the observer facing side walls of the embossing reflect the light coming from above substantially perpendicular to the eye of the beholder back, whereby an increased brightness impression is achieved.
- the embossing can cover the label over the entire surface or eliminate certain areas to which an imprint can be applied.
- the embossing grooves may have a depth of 5 to 200 ⁇ m, preferably the depth is about 60 ⁇ m.
- the spacing of the stamping grooves from one another can be 50 to 600 ⁇ m, preferably 300 ⁇ m.
- the labels provided therewith can be easily separated when applied to the bottleneck. Nevertheless may additionally be provided that the back or inside of the label is at least partially coated, thereby creating a kind of spacer.
- a label according to the invention is realized from an aluminum foil with a thickness between 6 and 50 ⁇ m.
- aluminum composite films can also be used. It can be used single or multi-layer, even metallized plastic films. Paper-containing composite films can be used in view of the disadvantages described above only with restrictions.
- a window 1 is shown schematically as a light source, wherein the eye 2 of an observer looks from above on a beer bottle 3 located, for example, in a beer crate with a bottleneck 4 and a crown cap 5.
- the bottleneck 4 is decorated with a label 6 which has a glossy reflective surface.
- the illustration illustrates that a representative light beam 7 coming from the window 1 impinges on the surface 8 and is reflected there in accordance with the laws of reflection in such a way that the reflected beam 9 goes down. Accordingly, no reflected light enters the eye 2 of the observer and the label appears comparatively dull and has a low gloss. Even more extreme are the conditions in reality when e.g. a beer box is illuminated by a ceiling light.
- Fig. 2 the lighting conditions are basically the same as in Fig. 1.
- the bottleneck 4 is now provided with a label 6 'according to the invention, which has a plurality of mutually parallel embossing grooves 10, which have a distance A of 300 microns from each other and a Depth T of 60 ⁇ m. The size ratios in comparison to the bottleneck are therefore shown extremely exaggerated for better illustration.
- Each stamping groove 10 of the 11 ⁇ m thick aluminum foil label is bounded by side surfaces 11, 12.
- the embossing grooves 10 run perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis 13 of the label 6 'or of the bottle 3.
- the representative light beam 7 coming from the window 1 now impinges on the side surface 12 of the embossing grooves 10 and is reflected accordingly in the form of the reflecting beam 9 'upwards in the direction of the eye 2 of the observer, so that a gleaming contrast in comparison with the prior art. Effect is achieved.

Description
Dabei zeigen:
- Fig. 1
