Definitions

  • the invention relates to connection devices for coaxial cable.
  • connection device having a clean cell to a direct engagement of an end, previously bare in part, a coaxial cable to be connected; having, in said cavity, an elongated contact blade in the same direction as the cell, adapted to plug the coaxial cable between its outer sheath and its shielding; having a cam, rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation oriented parallel to the direction of the cell, which cam is provided with a protruding clamping rib whose peak distance from the axis of rotation of the cam is variable; and having a contact terminal with which the central core of the coaxial cable is intended to engage.
  • connection device only the central core of the coaxial cable is stripped. Unlike conventional connecting devices, it is not necessary to operate, behind the stripped portion of the central core, stripping of the braid, which is relatively difficult to carry out since it consists in removing the only outer sheath.
  • the cable is locked with the cam, rotating it a quarter turn with a screwdriver.
  • the clamping rib of the cam then bears against the outer insulating sheath of the coaxial cable, which sheath is thus clamped between the clamping rib and the contact blade, which is sufficient for proper maintenance of the coaxial cable.
  • the invention aims to improve this kind of device, especially with regard to its conditions of use.
  • connection device for a coaxial cable, having a cell capable of directly engaging an end, previously partly stripped, of a coaxial cable to be connected; presenting, in said cell, an elongated contact blade in the same direction as the cell, adapted to plug said coaxial cable between its outer sheath and its shielding; and having a contact terminal with which the central core of said coaxial cable is intended to engage; characterized in that it comprises a base, to which belongs said contact blade, and a cover, adapted to be fixed to the base in a closed position of said device, which cover comprises at least one retaining member in the immediate vicinity of said contact blade in said closed position, which retaining member is adapted, in said closed position, to grip opposite said blade said outer insulating sheath of a cable seated on said blade.
  • connection device The implementation of the operation of connecting a coaxial cable to a connection device according to the invention is thus particularly simple and convenient.
  • connection device according to the invention to be obtained with a reduced number of components and / or to be particularly compact.
  • one of said bases and cover comprises at least one rib housing in a groove or notch of the other element among said base and said cover.
