Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a Lackierschutzetikett, in particular to a Lackiertiketikett for covering text, image and / or code information in a painting process, which has a transparent sealing layer, disposed below the sealing layer self-adhesive coating, and at least one removable cover layer which covers the sealing layer at least in the area of the text, image and / or code information and is transparent at least in the area of overlapping the text, image and / or code information, each covering layer each having a separating surface of two superimposed layers is functionally assigned so that these superimposed layers are separated when removing the cover layer.
  • EP-A-0065766 Such a label construction for paint protection applications in the automotive industry is known from EP-A-0065766. It is a plate-shaped coding carrier for attachment to body parts, which has visually recognizable information about the type of processing of the item, belonging to a particular motor vehicle, etc. So that the coding carrier remains undamaged and readable after each of the steps associated with a modern painting process, for example degreasing, phosphating, primer and finish coating, it is protected by a plurality of transparent plastic cover pieces arranged one above the other. These pieces of film are each individually removable after the respective steps, so that the information on the coding carrier again clearly visible through the remaining under the detached piece of film cover pieces.
  • each plastic film must be subjected to a pretreatment before siliconizing, for example a chemical roughening by using a so-called primer, in order to adhere the siliconized layer to the respective film.
  • the present invention seeks to provide a Lackiertiketikett of the initially mentioned kind, which is at least equivalent in handling and reliability at high temperature load conventional adhesive bonds, but beyond the release of silicone largely prevented.
  • this object is achieved by a Lackierschutzetikett for covering a text, image and / or code information, which represents about a barcode or a part number, which a transparent sealing layer, a disposed below the sealing layer self-adhesive coating, and at least one removable Cover layer which covers at least in the field of text, image and / or code information, the sealing layer and at least in the region of the overlap of the text, image and / or code information is transparent, wherein each cover layer is assigned to each functionally a separation surface of two superimposed layers so that these superimposed layers are separated when removing the cover layer, and wherein the release surface is free of adhesive.
  • the separating surface is in each case between an adhesive layer and a release layer, from which the adhesive layer has to be detachable
  • the release surface is realized in an entirely surprising manner for the person skilled in the art with an adhesive-free material combination.
  • a transparent varnish preferably adjoins a plastic film on the respective parting surface, which has not been subjected to any of the usual pre-press treatments, be it by means of irradiation, corona discharges or the use of a chemical primer. Due to the avoidance of such a pretreatment, the adhesion of the lacquer to the plastic film is indeed limited, so that the lacquer for removing the release surface associated cover layer can detach, however, the cohesion is sufficient that the overall composite does not fall apart at an undesired time.
  • the plastic film may be the sealing layer, in the case of optionally overlying covering layers, the respective closest underlying covering layer.
  • the avoidance of the usual pressure preparation treatment also means a simplification and cheapening of the label production.
  • the paint is preferably a UV-curing paint.
  • lacquers are available as silicone-free or at least virtually silicone-free systems, with silicone-free systems being particularly advantageous with regard to the prevention of silicone release.
  • the paint is applied by screen printing.
  • a defined order thickness of Adjust the paints is particularly advantageous if the lacquer layer is glued to the overlying layer, since a penetration of the adhesive can be so safely avoided on the film, so the release surface remains according to the invention adhesive-free.
  • the paint is applied by means of letterpress or flexographic printing.
  • a base layer bonded to the latter is arranged under the sealing layer, the upper side of which is provided with the text, image and / or code information to be covered.
  • the self-adhesive coating for adhering to the object to be coated is then advantageously arranged on the underside of the base layer.
  • This base layer thus takes over the task of the nameplate or process tracking label. Instead of first attaching an information carrier to the article to be painted and then applying the paint protection label to it, these two steps can be combined into one process.
  • the sealing layer advantageously bears the self-adhesive coating even on its underside.
  • the Lackierschutzetikett several superimposed, successively removable cover layers.
  • a multi-stage coating process can be so exposed after each process step by peeling off the top soiled, painted, or clouded layer of the underlying transparent residual composite for a clear view of the covered text, image and / or code information.
  • each covering layer directly adjoins the respective functionally assigned separating surface.
  • the cover layers are attached aufeinender or on the sealing layer by means of curable lacquer, which is cured after the application of the respective overlying layer.
  • the film surface located under the lacquer layer can be pretreated by printing, but the film surface of the functionally assigned covering layer lying above it can not be pretreated.
  • an adhesive layer may also be present between the lacquer layer and the underlying foil surface.
  • the production is then preferably proceeded so that the cover layer, which is assigned to this separation surface functionally printed first by screen printing with UV-curing lacquer and this is then cured, whereupon the cover layer with the nearest underlying film, which is adhesive coated, is laminated together ,
  • each covering layer adjoins the separating surface functionally assigned to the respectively nearest covering layer lying over it.
  • each covering layer can be dispensed with adhesive layers between the cover layers or between the sealing layer and the bottom cover layer.
  • the cover layers are attached alseinender or on the sealing layer by means of curable lacquer, which is cured after the application of the respective overlying layer.
  • the film surface located above the lacquer layer can be pretreated by printing, but the underlying film surface of the functionally associated cover layer can not be pretreated. But there may also be an adhesive layer between the lacquer layer and the overlying foil surface.
  • the label preferably has at least one release aid functionally assigned to each covering layer. This may be a grip tab formed on the cover layer associated therewith or a separate piece of film.
  • the individual layers must not necessarily be carried out completely.
  • the edge regions of the structure may be modified to locally areas of increased or decreased adhesion, if appropriate.
  • adhesive layers arranged between the covering layers it is particularly favorable to dispense with a separating layer in a narrow region adjoining an intended peeling aid, so that there is a greater local adhesion between the covering layer assigned to this separating layer and the respectively underlying film composite. This measure can help prevent premature unwanted detachment of the corresponding cover layer by mechanical effects in the painting process.
  • an information carrier 1 printed with optically detectable information 2 (text, numbers, a barcode or the like) is shown, which is attached by means of an adhesive layer 3 to the surface 4, for example a bodywork part of a motor vehicle, to be painted.
  • the information carrier 1 can be applied either as a printed base layer part of the Lackiertiketiketts and with this together on the surface 4, or it is a separately prepared and before applying the Lackiertiketiketts applied to the surface 4 nameplate or the like.
  • the transparent adhesive layer 5 On the information carrier 1 by means of the transparent adhesive layer 5, the likewise transparent sealing layer 6 is attached.
  • the adhesive layer 5 is designed as a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating and coated with Abziehmaterial before sticking the Lackierstoffetiketts.
  • the label shown in Fig. 1 is provided with a single cover layer 7, which consists of a transparent plastic film.
  • This is attached by means of an adhesive layer 10 on the release layer 8, which consists of a transparent UV-cured screen printing ink.
  • This is applied by screen printing on the sealing layer, which is formed from a non-pretreated by means of primer, corona discharge or the like, for printing plastic film.
  • the interface between the separating layer 8 and the sealing layer 6 represents the separating surface 9, along which the detachment takes place for removing the covering layer 7 when the painting process is completed.
  • the separating layer 8 is thus removed together with the cover layer 7 with.
  • the imprint 2 is visible through the sealing layer 6, which is protected under the covering layer 7 during painting.
  • the stripping is facilitated by the film piece 11, which does not adhere to the release layer 8, so that leaves at this position, the cover 7 can easily grip.
  • the covering layer 7 provided with the adhesive layer 10 is laminated over the sealing layer 6 printed with the separating layer 8.
  • the label shown in Fig. 2 has two cover layers 7a, 7b, and is therefore particularly suitable for use in two-stage coating, such as two-coat without further pretreatment or single-coat with primer. Similarly designed paint protection labels with three or more cover layers are also easily possible.
  • the upper cover layer 7b is fixed by means of an adhesive layer 10b on the release layer 8b, which consists of a transparent UV-cured screen printing ink. This is applied by screen printing on the lower cover layer 7a, which is formed from a non-pretreated by means of primer, corona discharge or the like, for printing plastic film.
  • the interface between the release layer 8b and the lower cover layer 7a represents the separation surface 9b functionally associated with the upper cover layer 7b, along which the detachment for removing the upper cover layer 7b occurs when the first stage of the painting operation is completed.
  • the separating layer 8b is thus removed together with the upper covering layer 7b.
  • the imprint 2 is visible through the lower covering layer 7a, which is protected under the covering layer 7 during the first step of the painting process, and the sealing layer 6 is visible.
  • the arrangement and function of the remaining after the first process stage lower cover layer 7a, adhesive layer 10a, separating layer 8a and the lower cover layer 7a functionally associated separation surface 9a during and after the second stage of the painting process is completely analogous to the embodiment described with reference to FIG. 1 and is therefore not described separately at this point again.
  • Each cover layer 7a, 7b is associated with a piece of film 11a, 11b, which serves as a removal aid in the manner described above.
  • the label shown in Fig. 3 in turn has two transparent plastic cover layers 71a, 71b and is therefore suitable for two-stage painting. Again, analogously constructed variants with several cover layers for painting processes with several steps can be easily implemented.
  • the upper Covering layer 71b is directly attached to lower cover layer 71a by means of the transparent UV-cured resist layer 81b.
  • the lower cover layer 71a is attached directly to the sealing layer 6 by the transparent UV-cured resist layer 81a.
  • each lacquer layer 81a, 81b is first printed on one of the layers connected by it, then the respective other layer connected by this lacquer layer is applied and the lacquer is then cured under the action of ultraviolet light.
  • the upper covering layer 71b can be functionally assigned either the boundary surface 92b between the upper covering layer 71b and the lacquer layer 81b or the boundary surface 91b between the lacquer layer 81b and the lower covering layer 71a as the separating surface.
  • the underside of the upper cover layer 71b is not pretreated by primer or the like in the manufacture
  • the upper surface of the lower cover layer 71a is not pressure-primed by primer or the like in the second case.
  • the respective other film surface adjoining the lacquer layer 81b may be pretreated in order to achieve a better adhesion of the lacquer layer 81b and thus a more defined detachment behavior at the separating surface 91b or 92b at this point.
  • the lower covering layer 71a may be functionally assigned either the boundary surface 92a between the lower covering layer 71a and the lacquer layer 81a or the interface 91a between the lacquer layer 81a and the sealing layer 6 as the separating surface.
  • the underside of the lower cover layer 71a is not pretreated by primer or the like in the manufacture
  • the top of the sealant layer 6 is not pressure-primed by primer or the like in the manufacture.
  • the respective other film surface adjoining the lacquer layer 81a can be pretreated in order to achieve better adhesion of the lacquer layer 81a and thus a more defined release behavior at the separating surface 91a or 92a at this point.
