Definitions
- the invention relates to a golf club, in particular a putter a shaft and a club head that is substantially parallel has striking surface extending to the axis of the shaft.
- Putters are available in numerous designs. Common to all that they are designed so that the user can one side of the body is oriented towards the target and then the putter in front the body moves. The movement takes place as a pendulum movement.
- the putter's shaft is usually held with both hands held.
- the pendulum movement is carried out so that the user or the user with the arms and the putter around the spine commutes. It is also known to putters with an extra long shaft too Mistake.
- the upper end of the shaft is used in these putters one hand in the area of the chin or chest of the user User kept fixed. The top end serves as a pivot point to the shaft moves in a pendulum motion with the other hand the body is moved back and forth.
- the putter's club head It is common to be able to run as parallel to the floor as possible, i.e. both with putters with normal shaft and with putters with extra long ones Shaft that the shaft to the bottom, the so-called sole, the club head is arranged inclined.
- the invention has for its object a golf club, in particular to create a putter of the type mentioned that the User a more relaxed posture when Putting allowed.
- the shaft essentially is aligned perpendicular to the sole of the club head and such Length that it is roughly at the chest height of the user or the Can be fixed as a pivot point and with one hand around it Pivot point is pendulum.
- This training allows the use of the putter, in which the The user aligns himself head-on with the target and the Putter holds laterally from the body.
- the putter ends with a Hand fixed at about chest height, the one belonging to this hand Put your arm against your chest and stabilize it.
- the other hand that hanging on the side of the body, guides the putter with a pendulum motion back and forth.
- the arm swings in the shoulder joint, so no other body movement this pendulum movement is superimposed.
- the user can be very relaxed Take a stance since they don't look forward over your head bow to the putter. Since the shaft is essentially perpendicular to Sole of the club head is aligned, the putter "right” and “left” are used, i.e. the same putter can be used with the right hand or swinging with the left hand while the other hand then fixed the free end of the shaft as a pivot point.
- the length of the shaft is tailored to the user. This is it advantageous if the length of the shaft can be changed.
- Comfortable handling results when the length of the shaft is designed for the user in such a way that the Shaft at least approximately in the area of the armpit of the user or the user ends. The user can then the putter adapted to him / her during putting in the Keep armpit fixed.
- the to the axis back of the club head facing away from the shaft parallel face formed as a striking surface inclined to the axis of the shaft is. Because of this configuration, the golf club can is actually a putter used to run chips. The same pendulum movement is carried out as for putting is used.
- At least one of the side surfaces between the front and back formed as a striking surface inclined to the axis of the shaft is.
- the golf club shown in the drawings the predominantly as Putter to be used has a club head 10, which on one Shaft 11 is attached.
- the shaft 11 runs perpendicular to the Base or sole 12 of the club head 10.
- the putter is like this designed to be sideways by a user is held, which is aligned frontally to the target.
- the shaft 11 is of such a length that the user the shaft 11 with the hand of a loosely hanging arm grasp and the end of the shaft 11 in the shoulder or the chest can hold. The user can use the putter hold so that the shaft is in front of the hanging arm and is gripped by hand from behind, as indicated in Fig. 1 is.
- the left hand in the embodiment Hand then holds the putter in the area of the upper end of the shaft on the upper arm or on the shoulder. If the user a pendulum motion with the arm forward and back around executes his / her shoulder joint around, the shaft 11 moves with the club head 10 in the same way so that the pivot point this pendulum movement about the user's shoulder joint or the user is.
- a user can also hold the putter that the shaft is on the inside of the arm so that the hand of the hanging arm the shaft 11 from the side attacks.
- the other hand can hold the putter on the shaft end on the Hold your upper arm.
- the length of the shaft 11 is based on the height of the user or coordinated with the user, i.e. so long that he was about to shoulder of the user is sufficient. This results in shaft lengths in the range of about 1.20 m to 1.70 m.
- the end of Shank is provided with a grip part 13, the length of which is approximately that corresponds to the average arm length of people.
- putters with shafts 11 can be supplied with extra length which will then be the size of your body when you acquire a putter of the user can be cut to length.
- the shaft from at least put together two telescopic parts which is displaceable relative to one another and in a preselected manner Position can be fixed.
- the club head 10 has a face 14 which is the front of the Club head 10 forms and parallel to the axis 15 of the shaft 11th runs. This face 14 serves for putting. That of the face 14 facing away from the back of the club head 10 is also as Striking surface 16 formed, which is inclined to the axis 15 of the shaft 11 is. This face 16 can be used for chipping.
- the distance between the face 14 and the face 16 is on the order of 25 mm to 50 mm, so relative narrow end faces are formed. These end faces are also formed as striking surfaces 17, 18, preferably at an incline each with a different inclination to the axis 15 of the Shaft run. Using these narrow club faces 17 or 18 it is possible for an otherwise possibly unplayable ball knock out between objects, for example between two stones or between trunks.
- the Sole 12 is arched between the face 17, 18.
- the curvature conveniently has a center point in the axis 15 of the Shaft lies.
- the head is with Provide side surfaces 17, 18 which are perpendicular, i.e. parallel to Shaft 11.
- Bi of a second modified embodiment we the Sole 12 between the face 14 and the face 16 so narrowed that the club head 10 in the side view a has approximately triangular contour.
- a third modified Embodiment becomes the upper side opposite the sole 12 especially arched between the side surfaces 17, 18. The club faces 14 and 16 are extended into this area so that they are enlarged become.
- extend the lateral, oblique striking surfaces 17, 18 do not extend into the Striking surfaces 14, 16, i.e. the striking surfaces 17, 18 are of edge webs limited.
- a fifth modified form is the club head 10 with the striking surfaces 14, 16, 17, 18 from an original spherical or hemispherical or cube-shaped body.
- these modifications can also be combined be realized with each other.
