Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for stabilization a supply voltage for at least one electronic consumer in a system which can be arranged in particular in a motor vehicle.
- the invention also relates to a software program and a power supply device for performing this Process.
- FIG. 4 shows an example used in the automotive sector for such a voltage supply device 100. It serves to provide a stabilized supply voltage U A , U B , U ⁇ C for at least one electronic consumer A, B, the consumers preferably being combined in a system 130 , This system may be, for example, an ABS system or a rain or dirt detector for windshield contamination.
- the power supply device 100 has a voltage regulator device 120, which is connected to a voltage source 110 and receives an input voltage U E from it.
- the voltage regulator device 120 has the task of buffering this input voltage before it, if appropriate converted into suitable levels for the individual consumers, passes on to them.
- the buffering serves to equalize or filter out positive or negative voltage peaks or longer-lasting voltage dips in the input voltage U E before the voltage regulator 120 forwards them as a supply voltage to the individual loads A, B or to a control device 140 for controlling the individual loads A, B.
- T 100 ms.
- the voltage regulator must then be designed to safely compensate for a dip in the input voltage U E to 0 volts for at least this exact time. This is done in the prior art in that the voltage regulator device 120 has sufficiently large input and output capacitors.
- this reset function can also be provided directly in the control device 140.
- the controller then resets itself when its supply voltage U ⁇ c falls below its reset threshold.
- the control device 140 may also have sufficiently large input capacitances to additionally buffer its own supply voltage.
- This method provides broadly formulated, the to a voltage regulator hanging load reduce if at its input voltage instabilities, especially found in the form of voltage drops become.
- the Voltage regulating device 120 capable of, at its instabilities detected 10 so to compensate that these are not on him output voltages for consumers and the controller affects. In other words, that will Occurrence of instabilities on the consumers supplied supply voltages preventively thereby averted that reduces the load of the voltage regulator becomes when instabilities at its input side be determined.
- the reduction of the load can be done, for example that individual consumers first in one Energy Saver mode are switched off or completely switched off become.
- the displacement of the consumer takes place in the energy saving mode or its shutdown only if fed to the voltage regulator Input voltage different undervoltage thresholds has fallen short of that for individual consumers individually definable.
- the restarting of the individual consumers or the control device from the energy-saving mode only takes place when the input voltage U E of the voltage regulator exceeds an input voltage threshold that can be individually predetermined for each consumer.
- a first order after which the individual consumers or the Control device in the energy saving mode offset or be switched off, is defined in advance.
- a second order according to which consumers after a shutdown in the energy saving mode or after which the consumers and the control device from the Energy saving mode can be put into a normal mode.
- FIG. 1 shows the power supply device according to FIG present invention. It is based in essential parts on the already introductory with reference to Figure 4 described device. To avoid Repetitions will be at this point on this description directed. Same components are the same Provided with reference numerals.
- Power supply device 100 at least one of the Consumers A, B each have multiple supply voltages of can be supplied to the voltage regulator 120, e.g. can the consumer B, a first supply voltage UB1 of 12V and a second supply voltage of UB2 of 5V be supplied.
- the voltage supply device 100 differs from the voltage supply device 100 shown in FIG. 4 in that here the input voltage U E supplied to the voltage regulator device 120 is detected and monitored for instabilities, in particular voltage dips.
- the input voltage U E is first supplied to the voltage divider 150, which converts the input voltage to the voltage level that can be processed by the downstream control device 140, preferably 5 or 3.3 volts.
- FIG. 2 shows the structure of the voltage divider 150 according to the invention.
- This first comprises a voltage divider consisting of the series-connected resistors 151 and 152 for converting the input voltage U E into the voltage level suitable for the control device 140.
- the voltage divider 150 may have a capacitance 153 connected in parallel with the resistor 152. This can ensure that a possible voltage dip of the input voltage, which is immediately registerable at the node 154, is forwarded to the control device 140 only if this voltage dip lasts longer than a predetermined period of time of, for example, 400 ⁇ s. In this way it is ensured that the inventive method is not already triggered in the presence of only short interference pulses on the input voltage U E.
- the function of the voltage divider 155, 156 and 157 present in the voltage divider 150 will be explained below.
- the input voltage U E divided by the voltage divider 151, 152 and 153 is subsequently forwarded by the voltage divider 150 to the control device 140.
- the control device 140 is designed to monitor this converted input voltage of the voltage regulator device 120 supplied to it and to detect a breakdown of this input voltage when it falls below a predefinable undervoltage threshold value.
- the control device 140 is further configured to detect an overvoltage when the converted input voltage of the voltage regulator supplied to it rises above a predefinable overvoltage threshold value.
- control device 140 is not only designed to detect a low or an overvoltage, but optionally also designed to initiate suitable measures to prevent propagation or transmission of detected instabilities of the input voltage U E to the supply voltages at the output of the voltage regulator device 120 or if an effect of this instability on the supply voltages can not avoid avoiding any resulting damage to the individual consumers.
- Such measures to be initiated by the control device 140 are shown by way of example in Table 1.
- the control device is designed to disconnect individual consumers, for example consumer A, when an overvoltage is detected, when the input voltage U E exceeds the predefinable overvoltage threshold value, wherein this overvoltage threshold value can be individually predetermined for the individual consumers. While consumer A already threatens damage when a first overvoltage threshold is exceeded, reaching this threshold, for example for a consumer B, may still be completely harmless; he can then remain connected while maintaining its full functionality to the supply voltage.
- the control device 140 first individual, but possibly all consumers A, B turns off. The shutdown is preferably carried out according to a predeterminable order, which is based on a previously conducted needs analysis to which the Consumers currently at these input voltages can be waived.
- control device 140 itself in a Energy saving mode offset.
- the controller 140 As usual, it is designed as a microcontroller usually also via such a power saving mode.
- all threshold values can be predetermined individually, preferably for the individual consumers, but also for the control device 140. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the individual measures or events to be initiated by the control device 140 when the threshold value is below or above a threshold value are not actually triggered until a time period that can be individually assigned to the individual threshold values has expired. In this way it is ensured that a consumer or even the control device itself is not put into a power-saving mode or switched off when the input voltage U E has not actually broken down for a long time or exceeds the overvoltage threshold, but has only a short interference pulse.
- control device 140 is not only designed to put the individual consumers or even themselves in a power saving mode or off, but it is also responsible for a reactivation of the consumer and of itself if the instabilities of the input voltage U E is no longer present are. Specifically, this means that the control device 140 is designed to start up a consumer that it has previously put into the energy-saving mode back into the normal operating mode if the input voltage U E of the voltage regulator exceeds an input voltage threshold that can be individually predetermined for this load.
- This predefinable input voltage threshold need not be identical to the first undervoltage threshold at which the load has been placed in the energy-saving mode; rather, a so-called switching hysteresis can be provided here.
- a first possibility is that the energy-saving mode implemented on the control device 140 itself provides a wake-up function which can be configured, for example, such that the control device 140 automatically interrupts its energy-saving mode at specific time intervals and then returns spontaneously to its normal operating mode, to determine if the condition for the energy saving mode still exists. That is, in the present invention, the controller 140 can then check on its own whether the input voltage U E in particular still falls below the second undervoltage threshold. If this is still the case, the controller 140 automatically returns to the power saving mode. However, should this no longer be the case, the controller 140 will automatically return to its normal operating state permanently.
- a wake-up function which can be configured, for example, such that the control device 140 automatically interrupts its energy-saving mode at specific time intervals and then returns spontaneously to its normal operating mode, to determine if the condition for the energy saving mode still exists. That is, in the present invention, the controller 140 can then check on its own whether the input voltage U E in particular still falls below the second undervoltage threshold. If this is still the case,
- FIG. 1 A second possibility for waking up the control device 140 from its energy-saving mode is shown in FIG. There, it can be seen that the voltage divider device 150 shown there has a second voltage divider consisting of the series-connected resistors 155 and 156. If, at the node 158 located between these two resistors, a voltage which is greater than a predefinable threshold value drops, this leads to the control device 140 receiving this voltage for triggering an interrupt, which the control unit 140 awakens from the energy-saving mode their normal operating condition.
- a capacitor 157 is connected in parallel to the resistor 156, which ensures that such interference pulses are filtered out of the interrupt signal forwarded to the control device 140 or if this signal is only delayed in time to the control device 140 is forwarded.
- FIG 3 shows another embodiment of the Voltage divider 150 according to the invention.
- This Embodiment corresponds substantially to that in FIG 2 embodiment shown; same components are denoted by the same reference numerals.
- the Voltage divider still a switch 159 on, the via a control signal from the controller 140 can be opened and closed.
- the switch 159 for the operation of the claimed method and claimed Power supply device 100 is the switch 159 to shut down.
- the switch 159 is advantageous to this switch 159 through the controller to open so that in this state no currents through the Voltage divider means 150 flow and in this way unnecessarily consumes energy.
- This switch 159 is of course dispensable if the system is turned off Vehicle is not supplied with electrical energy.
- the application of the claimed method and the claimed power supply device recommends in particular, only when other measures have been taken Energy savings among consumers in the motor vehicle and have been made at the controller.
- measures may include, for example, the use of Components with particularly low power consumption or the lowering of the reset threshold for the Control device 140 be.
- Buffering capacity in the voltage regulator 120 and the controller 140 are chosen as large as this from the available volume is possible.
- the inventive method and the invention Power supply device only then need to be used if the available volume of construction is not is sufficient to have sufficient capacity in the Voltage regulator 150 or in the Provide control device 140. In particular then it is recommended that the still missing buffer effect of the capacities used can not be provided, to replace quasi by the inventive method.
- Input capacities for buffering are preferably So-called surface mounted device SMD capacities or wired capacities used.
- the inventive method for stabilizing a Supply voltage for at least one electrical Consumer, especially in a motor vehicle can both in the form of an electronic hardware circuit also be realized in the form of a software program.
- at Realization in the form of a software program then has to be a Sequence of commands exist, the commands then perform the individual process steps.
- the realization is then in the control device 140 either the hardware circuit or the software program or a combination of both exist to the Perform procedure.
- the software program can optionally together with other software programs for Control and / or regulation of the consumers A, B on one Storage medium to be stored.
- the disk may be a disk, a compact disk (so-called CD), a so-called flash memory or the like act.
- the stored on the disk software can then sold as a product to a customer.
- the Software program together with others if necessary Software programs for controlling the consumers A, B - without the help of an electronic storage medium - via an electronic communications network, especially the Internet, as a product to a customer transferred and sold in this way.
