Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for packaging a product, in particular a solid cosmetic product, in the form of a sample.
  • FR 2,740,013 and US 2,061,139 describe a package for a sample of solid or pasty cosmetic product intended to allow the distribution of the sample for advertising purposes by insertion in a publication.
  • the package consists of a plate which has a central cavity into which is inserted a cup which contains the product sample.
  • the cup is fixed by an adhesive sheet glued to one side of the plate.
  • a lid is affixed to the other face of the plate to seal the cavity containing the cup.
  • Such packaging even if it is in the form of a plate, is relatively thick because of the presence of the cup.
  • Patent application FR 2 821 061 and US Pat. No. 5,161,688 describe a make-up sample that frees itself from the cup, the product being directly inserted into the cavity.
  • the cavity is closed on both sides by an adhesive film.
  • Patent application WO88 / 07825 describes this type of packaging.
  • the packaging consists of two bank card type plates, interconnected by two adhesive labels hinge so that when the two plates are superimposed, the hinge labels are located on the inner faces.
  • a first plate is crossed by two holes which open on each face of the plate and which contain a cosmetic product.
  • An adhesive film covers the outer face of the plate so as to close an opening of the holes thus forming the bottom of the housing of the product.
  • Such packaging with two hinge labels is unattractive.
  • the packaging comprises a relatively large number of constituent elements while it is preferable for the sample type of packaging to limit the number in order to minimize the cost of manufacture.
  • the label forming the bottom of the housing or the mirror label also constitutes a hinge for the device which limits the number of constituent elements of the device and therefore the steps of producing the device. It is also easier to correctly position a single label than two small ones to achieve the hinge. An inexpensive packaging device is thus obtained.
  • the label forming the bottom can also be used to decorate the outer face of the cover being for example pre-printed which is less expensive than printing a decoration directly on the cover.
  • the cover may be adapted to rest on the support so as to cover at least part of the face of the support on which opens the first opening.
  • the cover may be able to cover the entire face of the support so as to obtain a device that is as close as possible to a housing.
  • the adhesive sheet may be formed of one or more layers of a material selected from thermoplastic materials, including polyolefins or polyesters, and aluminum.
  • a material selected from thermoplastic materials including polyolefins or polyesters, and aluminum.
  • the adhesive sheet may be covered with an impression, for example an inscription relative to the product, or a decorative pattern.
  • the mirror tag may be formed of one or more layers of a material selected from thermoplastic materials, including polyolefins or polyesters, and aluminum, and a mirror paint layer.
  • the device may further comprise a removable cap releasably sealing the first opening, said cap being removed prior to the first use in order to access the product.
  • a removable cap releasably sealing the first opening, said cap being removed prior to the first use in order to access the product.
  • the seal may be adhesively bonded to the first face of the support in such a manner that it can be peeled off and re-glued at least once. It may not have an adhesive function in an area intended to face the first opening. It may also have a gripping zone for gripping the lid in order to separate it, at least in part, from said support.
  • the lid may be made of transparent material so as to allow the product to be seen. It is for example made of thermoplastic material, in particular polyester or polypropylene.
  • Steps a), b), c), a '), b') and c ') can be obtained by cutting, or alternatively by molding. These steps can be performed simultaneously or, in the case of cutting, be carried out successively.
  • the device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a rectangular support 20, of bank card type format, which comprises in its thickness a cavity 21 designed to receive the product, as well as a cover 30 articulated on the support 20, which is also rectangular and bank card type format.
  • the support and the cover may have any other shape, they may for example be square, round, oval, etc.
  • the support 20 has two flat and parallel faces 22 and 23 on each of which opens the cavity 21.
  • the cavity 21 has two openings 210 and 211 respectively on each face 22 and 23 of the support.
  • the support 20 has a small thickness of the order of a millimeter, for example between 0.5 and 2 mm. In a particular example, the support has a thickness of 0.8 mm.
  • the cavity 21 has a circular section but it can also be of square, rectangular, oval, or any other shape.
  • the cavity is designed to receive a small amount of product, for example 0.15 g.
  • a removable cap 40 is fixed on one of the faces of the support, the upper face 22, so as to close the opening 210 of the cavity, that by which the user can access the product.
  • This is for example a glossy label of polyester type which is glued on the upper face of the support.
  • a transparent label will be chosen to allow the user to see the product in the package.
  • the label is covered with a semi-permanent adhesive to hold it properly in contact with the face so as to close the opening while being easily removable from the face.
  • an adhesive will be chosen to re-glue the label at least once on the support after a first opening.
  • the removable cover has a gripping zone 41 located at the periphery of the label so as to form a tongue easily grasped by the user to remove the label of the support.
  • An adhesive film 50 is glued on the second face of the support, the lower face 23, so as to close the second opening 211 of the cavity 21.
  • This adhesive film has a greater stickiness than the removable cap 40 because it is intended not to be removed from the support. It thus constitutes the bottom of the packaging.
  • the cover 30 also has two flat faces 31 and 32 parallel, a first face 31 being intended to rest on the face 22 of the support.
  • the cover 30 also has a small thickness, of the order of about 0.8 mm for example.
  • the face 31 may be covered with a mirror label 70.
  • the cover 30 is hinged to the support 20 by means of the adhesive film 50 which partly covers the face 32 of the cover on which it is glued so that it constitutes a hinge between the support 20 and the cover 30.
  • the film 50 is extends over substantially the entire width of the support and the cover so as to properly hold them together. This further allows the cover and support to have a relative pivotal movement about an axis parallel to the edge of the support and the cover, without deviating from this axis.
  • FIGS. 3A to 3F show the various steps for producing the conditioning device which has just been described.
  • a plate made of a thermoplastic material for example a polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a polypropylene or a polyethylene terephthalate (PET), is produced by cutting, the plate being intended to form the support 20 and the lid 30.
  • the support 20 and the cover 30 are then formed in one piece as shown in FIG.
  • the cavity 21 is formed simultaneously by cutting.
  • a groove 60 is also made simultaneously on the plate between the support 20 and the cover 30.
  • thermoplastic material instead of making the plate as shown in Figure 3A by cutting, it can alternatively be obtained by molding a thermoplastic material.
  • the first opening 210 is then removably closed by means of the removable cap 40 which is adhered to the face 22 of the support 20 and the mirror label 70 is glued to the face 32 of the cover as shown. in Figure 3B.
  • the cosmetic product 10 is then introduced in powder form, through the second opening 211, into the cavity 21 closed in the lower part by operculum 40 (FIG. 3C).
  • the introduced powder is then compacted to form a product pellet which is then properly maintained in the package.
  • the amount of product introduced is preferably just sufficient to fill the cavity. When too much is introduced, excess product is removed by suction after compaction. According to one variant, a semi-liquid or viscous product may also be cast in the cavity.
  • the second opening 211 is closed by the adhesive film 50 (FIG. 3D) by pressing it on the underside 23 of the support with the aid of a pressure roller to evacuate the air and adhere the film to the product.
  • the adhesive film 50 forms the bottom of the packaging and participates in holding the pellet in the cavity.
  • the plate is folded along the groove 60 (FIG. 3E) so as to separate the support 20 and the lid 30 which are immediately resealed by the adhesive film 50 ( Figure 3F).
  • FIG. 1 and 2 This produces a packaging such as that shown in Figures 1 and 2 which is in the form of a housing.
  • the user raises the lid 30 of the support 20 and removes the lid 40 which was fixed before filling.
  • the user then has access to the surface of the product which corresponded to the bottom of the cavity during filling so that the visible surface is perfectly regular.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show a second embodiment of a packaging device according to the invention which differs from the first in that the lid 30 is articulated to the support 20 by means of the mirror adhesive label 70 and not in the adhesive film 50.
  • the mirror label 70 partially covers the face 22 of the support on which it is glued so that it constitutes a hinge between the support 20 and the cover 30.
  • L mirror label 70 extends over a sufficient width of the support and the cover to properly hold them integral with each other. This further allows the lid and the support to have a movement relative pivoting about an axis parallel to the edge of the support and the cover, without deviating from this axis.
  • FIGS. 6A to 6E show the various steps for producing the packaging device which has just been described.
  • thermoplastic material instead of making the plate as shown in Figure 6A by cutting, it can alternatively be obtained by molding a thermoplastic material.
  • the first opening 210 is then removably closed by means of the removable cap 40, which is glued to the face 22 of the support 20, and the mirror label 70 is glued to the face 31 of the cover and partly to the the face 22 of the support 20, as shown in Figure 6B.
  • the cosmetic product 10 is then introduced in powder form, through the second opening 211 into the cavity 21 closed in the lower part by the cap 40 (FIG. 6C).
6D) by pressing it on the underside 23 of the support with the aid of a pressure roller to evacuate the air and adhere the film to the product.
  • the adhesive film 50 forms the bottom of the packaging and participates in holding the pellet in the cavity.
  • the plate is then folded along the groove 60 (FIG. 6E) so as to separate the support 20 and the cover 30, which remain, however, integral with the mirror label 70.
  • FIG. 4 This produces a packaging such as that shown in Figure 4 which is in the form of a housing.
  • the user raises the lid 30 of the support 20 and removes the lid 40 which was fixed before filling.
  • the user then has access to the surface of the product which corresponded to the bottom of the cavity during filling so that the visible surface is perfectly regular. She can also look in the mirror to help make up.
