Definitions
- the invention relates to a tube for storage, transportation and the application of boar sperm for artificial insemination, with a Tube body with an original one before filling the tube essentially round cone tube shape and with a front on the tube body to this in projecting essentially coaxially, communicating with its interior thin hollow injector that is at its free tip when storing and the transport is closed and can be opened there for application and which has wings which project radially laterally at its tip.
- Such tubes have been in use for a long time.
- the side of the spout protruding wings can give this tip a hammer configuration that when stacking the initially still empty tubes prevents them from easily moving Clamp conical tube bodies into each other, hang together and can no longer be deducted individually. Unless a higher number of Is formed wings, these can also be an enlarged hub inside be summarized and then the appearance of a gear or one Accept the knurled wheel.
- the tubes are usually made of polyethylene, possibly also from Polypropylene or PVC through an explosion blow molding process, through injection molding or made by a combination of these two techniques.
- the fresh The manufactured tube is sealed at its spout and conical at its rear somewhat further end is initially open and is filled from this end, whereupon the rear edge of the tube is flattened and, for example, by a Welding technology is closed.
- the tube must be made of a flexible, soft, elastic material consist.
- the invention is intended for boar sperm tubes in the manner mentioned are made, the use of scissors become superfluous. This will achieved according to the invention in that in the injection nozzle in the Neighboring of the protruding wings on their side facing the tube body A circular circumferential cut to form a predetermined breaking line located in the spout wall in a radial plane of the spout. It has been shown that a predetermined breaking line can be produced by such an annular cut is that - with full preservation of the original tube tightness - for application a clean one, but the remaining spout on its outer surface is not noticeably deforming removal of the tip by twisting off.
- the Cutting not only simply reduces the cross-sectional area of the Spout wall that would not be sufficient for the purpose, but in addition, a discontinuous tear-off of the sleeve outer skin and in the cutting area only an axially very thin layer of material on which the shear force is primary works, to which the surprisingly good success can be attributed.
- the cut which can be made precisely in an automated manner with the aid of, for example, a rotating knife in a rotating tube, fulfills the purpose, for example, if it is in the range of an outer sleeve diameter of 3.5 to 4.2 mm and a sleeve wall thickness in of the order of magnitude of 1 mm with a cutting depth of 0.3 to 0.5 mm in a ring, i.e. in the radial cross-sectional area of the cut the wall thickness is halved or reduced to approx. 70%, so that an initially undiminished wall cross section in the There is an order of magnitude of 4 to 6 mm 2 and there is a remaining ring cross section of 2 to 3 mm 2 in the area of the cut.
- the cut must not go too deep, so as not to cut into the lumen of the spout in the case of weak-walled specimens or specimens with a spout diameter at the lower tolerance limit, but also not to be too flat, even for thick-walled specimens To achieve effective cross-section reduction.
- the optimal depth of cut may need to be determined experimentally for the individual tube model.
- a sperm tube shown in the figures comprises a tube body 1 and at its discharge end a spout 2, which as a thin, to the tube body in essential coaxial tube is designed and shown Example of Fig. 1 over part of its length with a cylindrical outer surface and over another part with a conical outer surface, or according to FIG. 2 only is designed with a conical outer surface and is closed at its tip 3.
- the tube body 1 with the nozzle 2 and its front tip 3 put together a one-piece flexible plastic casting, one in blowing technique manufactured element or in a combined injection-blowing process manufactured element, there are numerous known options here.
- the Spout 2 which is used to squeeze the contents of the tube, is hollow on the inside.
- the tip 3 At the Tip 3 protrude laterally opposite one another two radial wings 4, the give the tip 3 a hammer-like appearance and according to the state of the Technology is used when stacking the empty tubes against the inner wall a blunt conical front, when stacking lower end wall 5 of Tube cone 1, from which the spout 2 projects, or to the circular edge, with which this inner wall merges into the lumen of the spout 2, create and thus an intimate contact of the side walls of the nested To prevent tubes.
- the end wall 5 has in the illustrated embodiment Stiffening webs 6, which have the shape of bulging grooves in the front wall Have 5.
- this shearing process remains the spout 2 intact in its remaining part directed towards the tube body 1, in particular on its outer surface smooth and free of beads, so that after turning off the tip 3, the spout 2 with undiminished edge Sealing can be inserted into the end of the insemination catheter.
- the cut 11 lies practically in one plane without an essential axial dimension, so that there are no dirt particles or the like can nest.
- the production of the cut can be done in series production can be easily performed automatically, for example by a Scribing tool with rotating tube or, also with rotating tube, through a rotating knife disc.
- As a design example can be dimensioned as follows for the material polyethylene be called: from the free end of the tip 3 is the level of Section 11 at a distance of 6.7 mm, at this point the spout has one Nominal outside diameter of 3.8 mm.
- the wall thickness of spout 1 is 1 mm and section 11 should be from the outer sleeve surface as the reference surface from 0.3 to 0.5 mm deep or if this reference surface is not used up to a radius with respect to the nozzle axis of 3.5 mm be attached.
