Definitions
- the invention relates to a roller of a paper machine, the surface with is provided with a pattern of drainage openings, and a method for their manufacture.
- So-called "open" rollers such as Forming rolls and screen suction rolls are used for dewatering a paper web, which together with a sieve, e.g. a forming wire, guided along the roller or deflected by the roller becomes.
- the surface of the roller has drainage openings provided, usually with respect to the roller axis in the radial direction run and in which liquid is absorbed from the paper web can.
- the drainage openings can be continuous openings be designed so that the liquid is sucked into the inside of the roller can.
- the drainage openings can also be blind holes act in which the liquid is temporarily absorbed to later released again, for example to be thrown off.
- An object of the invention is therefore to use a roller reduction in the formation of perforated shadow markings as far as possible with good drainage properties without the roller closing must be equipped with a shrink screen cover for this purpose.
- the drainage openings are therefore in divided at least two groups, the drainage openings of the the first group are circumferentially surrounded by circular grooves, that is circular, groove-like depressions around the drainage opening in question.
- These circular grooves contribute to a reduction in the land area between the Drainage openings and allow a temporary intake of water from the treated paper web.
- such circular grooves along the roll surface of a connection between the drainage openings of the second group are made by one of these such circular groove are cut or cut.
- the drainage openings are the first group, but not the drainage openings of the second or another group surrounded by circular grooves. Because it has demonstrated that a sufficient reduction in land area is already possible is when only part of all drainage openings from a circular groove is surrounded. On the other hand, the subdivision of the drainage openings remains in a first and one or more other groups sufficient land to support the paper web or screen, especially if a regular one for the drainage openings and the circular grooves Arrangement is selected.
- the roller according to the invention is therefore characterized in that the land areas clearly cut between the drainage openings and thus are reduced. This will increase the open roll surface and thus an equalization of the water outflow from the paper web achieved. This causes a significant reduction in the formation of the unwanted Shadow marking.
- a shrink screen cover is for this purpose not mandatory.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the circular grooves in particular simple and inexpensive way to be generated on the roller surface can.
- the circular grooves for example by means of drill bits, in one setting with the drainage openings in the Roller are manufactured.
- the circular grooves are concentric with the respective one of the Circular groove surrounding drainage opening are arranged. This allows a particularly effective equalization along the roller surface of water outflow.
- the arrangement and the respective inner radius of the Circular grooves are selected so that the circular grooves and those of the circular grooves each circumferential drainage openings not along the roller surface are interconnected. It has been shown that between a drainage opening of the first group and this drainage opening surrounding circular groove a continuous web or a continuous Land area can remain without this arrangement becoming an undesirable one Marking on the treated paper web leads so that in the area of this Drainage opening of the first group sufficient land area for Supporting the paper web or the screen can be provided.
- the inner radius and the outer radius of the circular groove are selected so that the circular groove has an adjacent drainage opening the second or a further group only in their edge area, and not cuts along a central area.
- a cut or cutting through the drainage opening of the second group in the extreme third of the radius of this drainage opening can be provided.
- the width of the circular grooves with respect to the radius the drainage opening surrounded by the respective circular groove is small and for example, only a third or a quarter of this radius or less.
- a particularly good equalization of the water outflow in the area of Drainage openings of the first group is guaranteed if the inner radius of the circular grooves is greater than the radius by approximately the width of the circular grooves the respective drainage opening surrounded by the circular groove.
- the radial distance of a circular groove to the edge of the surrounding is said to be words Drainage opening approximately equal to or less than the width of the circular groove his.
- An advantageously uniform water outflow is also achieved when the drainage openings with surrounding circular groove, i.e. if the drainage openings the first group, in the immediate vicinity of only drainage openings without surrounding circular grooves, i.e. only from drainage openings the second group, are surrounded in a regular arrangement.
- the drainage openings of the first group can be in one even division of six drainage openings of the second group be surrounded.
- the drainage openings are the first group on the roll surface larger than the drainage openings the second group.
- this enlarged version means that the land area in the area of such Drainage opening of the first group and the surrounding one Circular groove only makes up a comparatively small proportion of the total area.
- the drainage openings of the first group are not necessarily only surrounded by a single circular groove. Instead, it is too possible that these drainage openings of two or more circular grooves are surrounded, in particular concentric to each other and to the drainage opening are arranged.
- the Drainage openings or the depressions, the roller preferably post-treated, especially by breaking sharp edges, deburring and sandblasting as well as coating with wear-resistant material.
- Fig. 3 shows a known pattern of drainage openings 11 on the surface 13 of a forming roll 15, the roll surface being curved per se is shown as a level for the purpose of better visibility.
- the gap appears on the surface 13 between the drainage openings 11 the roller 15 as land area 17 (shown hatched in Fig. 3).
- the shown Pattern of drainage openings 11 and land areas running between them 17 may be undesirable in some applications Make perforated shadow markings on the treated paper web as this Pattern of uneven water outflow from the treated paper web caused.
- Fig. 1 shows part of a forming roller 11 according to the invention in the radial Cross section along the axis of rotation of this roller (not shown in Fig. 1).
- a drainage opening 11 is shown in the form of a bore that extends proceeding from the roller surface 13 continuously in the direction of the axis of rotation extends in the center of the roller 15. In the area of the roller surface 13, the bore 11 is expanded to a depression 19.
- the drainage opening 11 has an opening in the form of a circular groove 21 which surrounds the drainage opening 11 in surrounds a concentric arrangement.
- the circular groove 21 causes an enlargement the open roller surface 13 and thus an equalization of the Water absorption from the treated paper web. The risk of formation of Perforated shadow markings on the treated paper web are therefore considerable reduced.
- FIG. 2 shows a view corresponding to the representation according to FIG. 3 Embodiment of a pattern of drainage openings with such Circular grooves 21.
- the drainage openings are each one of assigned to two groups.
- the drainage openings 11 of a first group are, as already explained in connection with FIG. 1, of a concentric Surround circular groove 21.
- the drainage openings 11, 11 'thus form a periodically repeating pattern, with inside a straight line of drainage openings 11, 11 'along the roll surface 13 assigned every third drainage opening 11 to the first group is and the two intermediate drainage openings 11 'of are assigned to the second group.
- This regular arrangement of drainage openings 11, 11 'and circular grooves 21 causes the drainage openings 11 'of the second group each cut at three edge areas in a uniform division by a circular groove 21 are, so that between two adjacent drainage openings 11 ' In the second group, two connecting channels 23 are formed. Thereby is the land area 17 between these two drainage openings 11 ' cut and reduced to a segment web 25. This reduction in Land area 17 leads in the vicinity of the relevant drainage opening 11 ' to an equalization of the water outflow from the treated paper web into the drainage opening 11 '.
- the arrangement of the drainage openings 11 of the first group and the circular grooves 21 relative to one another is selected such that a drainage opening 11 the first group not with the surrounding circular groove 21 and therefore not with an adjacent drainage opening 11 of the first group or one adjacent drainage opening 11 'of the second group is connected. Instead, the drainage openings 11 of the first group are closed Ring webs 27 surrounded. At the drainage openings 11 of the The first group provides the circular groove 21 which surrounds this drainage opening 11 surrounds, for a sufficient enlargement of the open roller surface 13 so that shadow shadow marks are avoided.
- the width of the respective circular groove 21 relative to the radius of the relevant one Drainage opening 11 is comparatively small, as shown in particular in FIG. 1 seen.
- the depth of the circular grooves 21 can also be relative to the depth of the drainage opening 11 or their reduction 19 may be comparatively small.
