Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for packaging a product, in particular a solid cosmetic product, in the form of a sample.
- Patent FR 2,740,013 describes a packaging for a sample of solid or pasty cosmetic product intended to allow the distribution of the sample for advertising purposes by insertion in a publication.
- the package consists of a plate which has a central cavity into which is inserted a cup which contains the product sample.
- the cup is fixed by an adhesive sheet glued to one side of the plate.
- a lid is affixed to the other face of the plate to seal the cavity containing the cup.
- Such packaging even if it is in the form of a plate, is relatively thick because of the presence of the cup.
- US Patent 2,061,139 also discloses a package for a cosmetic product sample in the form of a plate in which a cup containing the product is inserted. Again, it is difficult to obtain a thin package.
- the surface of the product which will be the outer surface at the opening of the packaging corresponds to the bottom of the cavity during filling.
- the bottom of the cavity being filled first the outer surface of the product defined by said lid is perfectly smooth and the product is not likely to overflow the cavity of this side of the support.
- the product is introduced into the cavity in powder form and then said powder is compacted in the cavity before closing the second opening.
- no play is possible between the product and the support so that the product is perfectly maintained in the cavity and is not likely to escape when opening the packaging.
- a quantity of product is introduced so as to at least fill the cavity so that no displacement of the product in the cavity is possible.
- the product is perfectly maintained in its packaging, especially when it is opened by removing the lid.
- the second opening is closed by means of an adhesive sheet which is fixed on the second face of the support.
- the adhesive sheet is fixed by pressing it with a roller so as to adhere, at least in part, the product on the adhesive sheet. Again the good behavior of the product in the packaging is favored because the surface of the product facing the second opening is maintained in the support by adhering to the adhesive sheet.
- the adhesive sheet is for example formed of a thermoplastic material, chosen in particular from polyolefins or polyesters, which is covered with a permanent adhesive composition, that is to say which is not intended to allow the detachment of the adhesive sheet.
- the adhesive composition ensures the fixing of the sheet on the support and adheres in such a way that it is difficult to remove it from the support.
- the label may be decorated beforehand so that, in addition to its closure function, decorate the packaging.
- the lid forming the opening means of the packaging, is adhered by means of an adhesive on the first face of the support in such a way that it can be peeled off and glued at least once.
- the user can open the packaging and use the product once, close the packaging if it has not used the entire product, and remove the lid again to access the product again.
- the area of the cap intended to be in contact with the product has no adhesive function so as to avoid removing the product that would remain on the lid when it is opened by the user.
- the lid is not coated with adhesive, for example, in this area.
- it can be expected to annihilate the function of the adhesive in this area by covering the adhesive with a varnish.
- the lid has a gripping area for gripping the lid to separate it, at least in part, the support.
- the gripping zone is for example an extension of the cap which, like the area of the cap intended to be in contact with the product, has no adhesive function.
- the lid is made of transparent material.
- the lid is for example a sheet of thermoplastic material, in particular polyester or polypropylene coated with a semi-permanent type adhesive.
- the packaging method is described, according to the example, for conditioning a solid cosmetic product.
- a rectangular bankcard-type medium 20 has in its thickness a cavity 30 provided for receiving the product.
- the support may have any other shape, it may for example be square, round, oval, etc.
- the support 20 has two flat and parallel faces 21 and 22 on each of which opens the cavity 30.
- the cavity 30 has two openings 31 and 32 respectively on each face 21 and 22 of the support.
- the support 20 has a small thickness of the order of a millimeter, for example between 0.5 and 2 mm. In a particular example, the support has a thickness of 0.8 mm.
- the support is for example obtained from molding or cut.
- the cavity has a circular section but it can also be of square, rectangular, oval, or any other shape.
- the cavity is designed to receive a small amount of product, for example 0.15 g.
- a removable cap 40 is fixed 100 on one of the faces of the support, the upper face 21, so as to close one of the openings of the cavity namely that by which the user can access the product.
- This is for example a glossy label of polyester type which is glued on the upper face of the support.
- a transparent label will be chosen to allow the user to see the product in the package.
- the label is covered with a semi-permanent adhesive to hold it properly in contact with the face so as to close the opening while being easily removable from the face.
- an adhesive will be chosen to re-glue the label at least once on the support after a first opening.
- the backing support of the label has been preserved during a particular cutting or stripping operation (double cut for example), on two zones of the label 40.
- the back support is preserved, on the one hand, in the zone 42 which comes into contact with the product so as to prevent the product from adhering to the label during opening and, secondly, in a gripping zone 41 situated at the periphery of the label of so as to form a tab easily graspable by the user to remove the label of its support.
- the label has a smooth surface so that the upper surface of the product, i.e. the surface visible to the user when opening the package, has a smooth appearance. But it is obvious that if one wishes to obtain a visible surface of the product which has another aspect, then choose a label with a suitable surface.
- the cosmetic product 10 in the form of powder is introduced through the second opening 32 into the cavity 30 closed in the lower part by the label 40.
- the powder introduced is then compacted 300 so as to form a product pellet which is then properly maintained in the packaging.
- the amount of product introduced is preferably just sufficient to fill the cavity. When too much is introduced, excess product is removed by suction after compaction. According to one variant, the product is introduced in liquid form.
- the second opening 32 is closed by an adhesive film 50 by pressing it on the underside with a pressure roller 60 to evacuate the air and adhere the film to the product.
- the adhesive film 50 forms the bottom of the packaging and participates in holding the pellet in the cavity.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for packaging a product, in particular a solid cosmetic product, in the form of a sample.
It is common to distribute samples of cosmetic product in magazines, for example by associating them with an advertising page. To condition the cosmetic products in the form of a sample, particular use is made of tubes or bottles of reduced dimensions. However, such packaging can hardly be distributed in magazines for advertising purposes because of their size. Other packages, such as sachets which contain liquid or creamy products or wipes impregnated with liquid products can more easily be inserted into magazines. Nevertheless, the bags can hardly contain solid products, such as compacted powders.
Patent FR 2,740,013 describes a packaging for a sample of solid or pasty cosmetic product intended to allow the distribution of the sample for advertising purposes by insertion in a publication. The package consists of a plate which has a central cavity into which is inserted a cup which contains the product sample. The cup is fixed by an adhesive sheet glued to one side of the plate. A lid is affixed to the other face of the plate to seal the cavity containing the cup. Such packaging, even if it is in the form of a plate, is relatively thick because of the presence of the cup.
Là encore, il est difficile d'obtenir un conditionnement peu épais.US Patent 2,061,139 also discloses a package for a cosmetic product sample in the form of a plate in which a cup containing the product is inserted. Again, it is difficult to obtain a thin package.
It is therefore desirable to overcome the cup and insert the product directly into the cavity. However, it is difficult to achieve such packaging that allows a correct holding of the product in the cavity and in which the outer surface of the product, namely the visible surface at the opening of the packaging, is acceptable from a point of view aesthetic, that is to say that has a relatively regular surface.
Also, is it an object of the invention to provide a method for packaging a product, in particular a cosmetic product, in a generally flat support having a cavity in which the product is directly inserted without any additional way to contain the product.
It is in particular an object of the invention to provide such a method which makes it possible to obtain a packaged product which has a visible surface when the package is opened, which is acceptable from an aesthetic point of view, which has in particular a regular surface.
It is yet another object of the invention to provide such a method which makes it possible to obtain a good resistance of the product in the cavity.
It is also another object of the invention to provide such a method which is inexpensive.
- a) obturer de manière amovible la première ouverture au moyen d'un opercule amovible à enlever préalablement à la première utilisation en vue d'accéder au produit;
- b) introduire le produit dans la cavité via la seconde ouverture;
- c) obturer la seconde ouverture.
- a) removably closing the first opening by means of a removable cap to be removed prior to the first use in order to access the product;
- b) introducing the product into the cavity via the second opening;
- c) closing the second opening.
The product being inserted into the cavity after having fixed the lid which serves as means of opening the packaging, the surface of the product which will be the outer surface at the opening of the packaging corresponds to the bottom of the cavity during filling. The bottom of the cavity being filled first, the outer surface of the product defined by said lid is perfectly smooth and the product is not likely to overflow the cavity of this side of the support.
Advantageously, the product is introduced into the cavity in powder form and then said powder is compacted in the cavity before closing the second opening. Thus, no play is possible between the product and the support so that the product is perfectly maintained in the cavity and is not likely to escape when opening the packaging.
Advantageously, a quantity of product is introduced so as to at least fill the cavity so that no displacement of the product in the cavity is possible. Thus, the product is perfectly maintained in its packaging, especially when it is opened by removing the lid.
When introducing a quantity of product which is greater than the quantity likely to be contained in the cavity, it advantageously removes the excess product introduced so as to fill the cavity. Thus, the underside of the support remains perfectly flat and the thickness of the packaging is not increased. It is thus easy to close the second opening without any protrusion interferes with the closure. In addition, a constant volume of product is obtained in each packaging of this type, which makes it possible for a user to know the quantity of product available when using a new packaging of the same type.
According to one embodiment, the second opening is closed by means of an adhesive sheet which is fixed on the second face of the support. This forms the bottom of the packaging, that is to say the opposite side to the opening of the packaging and therefore access to the product. Advantageously, the adhesive sheet is fixed by pressing it with a roller so as to adhere, at least in part, the product on the adhesive sheet. Again the good behavior of the product in the packaging is favored because the surface of the product facing the second opening is maintained in the support by adhering to the adhesive sheet. The adhesive sheet is for example formed of a thermoplastic material, chosen in particular from polyolefins or polyesters, which is covered with a permanent adhesive composition, that is to say which is not intended to allow the detachment of the adhesive sheet. The adhesive composition ensures the fixing of the sheet on the support and adheres in such a way that it is difficult to remove it from the support. Advantageously, the label may be decorated beforehand so that, in addition to its closure function, decorate the packaging.
The lid, forming the opening means of the packaging, is adhered by means of an adhesive on the first face of the support in such a way that it can be peeled off and glued at least once. Thus, the user can open the packaging and use the product once, close the packaging if it has not used the entire product, and remove the lid again to access the product again.
Advantageously, the area of the cap intended to be in contact with the product has no adhesive function so as to avoid removing the product that would remain on the lid when it is opened by the user. For this purpose, the lid is not coated with adhesive, for example, in this area. Alternatively, it can be expected to annihilate the function of the adhesive in this area by covering the adhesive with a varnish. Alternatively still, it is possible to leave in this area the film constituting the back support of the adhesive seal.
Advantageously, the lid has a gripping area for gripping the lid to separate it, at least in part, the support. The gripping zone is for example an extension of the cap which, like the area of the cap intended to be in contact with the product, has no adhesive function.
According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the lid is made of transparent material. Thus, the packaging obtained allows the user to see the packaged product. The lid is for example a sheet of thermoplastic material, in particular polyester or polypropylene coated with a semi-permanent type adhesive.
- Figure 1 schematically illustrates the steps of the method according to the invention; and
- FIG. 2 represents a package obtained by the process according to the invention.
The packaging method, the steps of which are illustrated in FIG. 1, is described, according to the example, for conditioning a solid cosmetic product.
In a second step, the
Finally, the
This produces a packaging such as that shown in Figure 2 which can be opened by the
In the foregoing detailed description, reference has been made to preferred embodiments of the invention. It is obvious that variations can be made without departing from the invention as claimed hereinafter.
