Definitions
- the invention relates to the display industry, and more specifically to the animated display sector operating by the unwinding of a printed canvas. It relates more particularly to the structure of a display medium including several independent sections, each carrying information to be displayed.
- dynamic display devices operate by rolling out a display medium on which at least two, and more generally three different posters have been printed. This canvas is rolled in one direction then in the other, and immobilized regularly so that the printed poster is correctly displayed to the outside view.
- the display support In a first family of drop-down devices, the display support consists of a canvas on which various paper posters are pasted. This canvas is wound on motorized rollers, thus causing the winding of paper posters. It is understood that this first solution can cause folds during the winding of the canvas, these folds can in turn cause blockages of the system and therefore the interruption of the correct display.
- the display device described in this document comprises rollers on which a canvas containing the printed information is wound up and unrolled. To ensure optimal winding, the information support fabric is kept under transverse tension during its unwinding. This maintenance in transverse tension also ensures good flatness of the poster, which gives it a good visual appearance.
- the information support fabric includes lateral selvedges equipped with a rod capable of sliding in fixed guides relative to the unrolling device.
- the display medium used may for example be made of a slightly stretchy plastic film which has been printed. More precisely, several successive posters are printed one after the other on this canvas.
- the drop-down devices are supplied with information support fabrics according to the duration of the poster campaigns.
- the periods are not the same for the different posters present on the same canvas.
- the problem that the invention proposes to solve is that of making it possible to optimize successive poster campaigns by individualizing the different posters while remaining compatible with the installation in devices ensuring maintenance under transverse tension, in particular thanks to the use of side rods.
- the invention therefore relates to a display support intended to be put in place in a drop-down device, and whose selvedges are capable of being guided laterally inside such a drop-down device.
- this display medium is characterized in that it is composed of several adjacent sections secured in a reversible manner to each other by their horizontal edges facing each other.
- this display support comprises a lateral rod located on each of these lateral edges, this rod extending continuously over all of the adjacent sections.
- the invention consists in detachably associating different independent sections on which separate posters are printed, with a continuous rod present on each of the edges of the assembly made up of the associated sections. In this way, it is possible to modify the different zones displayed by replacing only the corresponding sections, and this with total freedom in the composition of the complete canvas.
- the different sections are secured in a reversible manner by their vertical selvedge to a single element comprising a lateral rod, this single element therefore forming the lateral selvedge of the assembly.
- the different independent sections are all associated with two single side rods which have the total length of the display fabric.
- the operation of replacing a poster section goes through the separation of the side rods, then through the separation of the section considered. A new section is then put in place, then the side rods are put back in place on the reconstructed poster train.
- the different sections comprise on each vertical edge a side rod.
- the support then comprises means for ensuring the continuity of the various lateral rods of the adjacent sections.
- the different sections comprise in themselves a lateral rod, and means are provided which make it possible to connect the ends of the rods at the level of the facing selvedges, so as to form a rod continuous across the entire display canvas.
- These rods specific to each section can be permanently fixed to the side edges of each section, for example by welding.
- each section incorporates a fraction of the overall lateral rod, the continuity between these different rod fractions being ensured to allow the rod to slide smoothly in the fixed slide of the unrolling device.
- the horizontal edges facing two adjacent sections can be connected by means of two complementary elements, each located on one of the horizontal edges, these complementary elements cooperating with each other.
- the upper edge of a section includes an element which can come to grip or more generally cooperate with an element which is fixed on the lower edge of the upper section.
- the adjacent sections are connected directly by their edges.
- the horizontal edges facing two adjacent sections can be connected by means of an additional member, cooperating with the two horizontal edges to be connected.
- the complementary elements may include a plurality of hooks able to snap into hooks of the complementary element of the adjacent section.
- These hooks have a profile which requires a small effort for the establishment of one edge on the other, but which on the contrary requires a significantly greater effort to separate adjacent sections. This solution is particularly suitable with regard to the small poster widths, for questions of installation and dismantling.
- the complementary elements and additional members may include a plurality of hooks, the hooks of each complementary element being able to snap into the hooks of the member additional.
- the bottom edge of one of the sections snaps onto the complementary hooks of a part of the intermediate member.
- the upper edge of the lower section likewise snaps into another part of the intermediate element.
- each horizontal edge may include a horizontal rod, the additional member then comprising two slides capable of receiving the horizontal rods of the opposite edges.
- the rigidity of the connection is ensured by the additional intermediate member, which allows the use of relatively flexible horizontal rods for the different sections. This solution is therefore particularly suitable for the use of stretch fabrics, having a very good quality of visual rendering.
- the device comprises junction elements inserted in the two ends opposite the lateral rods of the adjacent sections.
- the continuity of the different individual rods of each section is ensured by joining elements which make it possible to keep the ends of the individual lateral rods in alignment with one another.
- junction elements can be inserted into a housing drilled parallel to the axis of the rod.
- the lateral rods of the three adjacent sections have a groove opening laterally, intended to receive the junction element.
- the junction element can be placed inside the characteristic groove after the different sections have been associated by their horizontal edges. This facilitates the overall construction of the poster.
- junction elements can be in the form of a rigid or semi-rigid rod, or even preferably so.us form of a jumper of general U shape.
- the central part of the jumper provides the connection between the rods of the two adjacent sections.
- the branches of the rider for their part penetrate into holes provided for this purpose inside the rod, so as to increase the resistance to tearing of the connecting means between sections.
- the display support according to the invention may include at least one locking piece positioned astride the horizontal edges facing the adjacent sections, so as to provide an additional mechanical connection between said adjacent sections.
- this locking piece is placed on only one face of the poster, namely preferably the visible face of the poster on which the operator can intervene.
- Figure 1 is a general view showing the manner in which a display support according to the invention is assembled.
- FIG. 2 is a detailed summary perspective view of the way in which the junction between two adjacent sections is produced.
- Figure 3 is a side view illustrating the junction between two horizontal edges of two adjacent sections.
- Figures 4 to 6 are side views showing alternative embodiments of Figure 3.
- Figure 7 is a summary perspective view of the manner in which the junction is made between lateral rods of adjacent sections.
- Figures 8 and 9 are summary perspective views of variants of Figure 7.
- Figure 10 is a summary perspective view of a detail of the junction zone between section, illustrating a variant relating to the locking parts.
- FIG. 11 is a general view illustrating a variant composition of the support according to the invention, in which the different sections are associated with single lateral rods.
- the invention relates to a display support which is intended to be placed in a drop-down device.
- such a display support (1) can be produced by the reversible assembly of several sections (2, 3, 4) each comprising an individual poster.
- each section (2, 3, 4) has on its lateral edges (5, 6) lateral rods (7, 8) intended to slide inside the slides forming part of the unrolling device not shown.
- the application of a transverse force between the lateral rods (7, 8) keeps the poster under transverse tension, which facilitates its winding, and improves its flatness and therefore the visual quality of the poster.
- the different sections (2, 3, 4) are joined reversibly to one another by their horizontal edges (10, 11, 12, 13).
- the display support (1) comprises means ensuring the continuity of the rods (7, 17, 27; 8, 18, 28) of the various adjacent sections (2, 3, 4). This geometric continuity is necessary to allow optimal sliding in the slides of the drop-down device.
- FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the connection between the horizontal edges (10, 11) of two adjacent sections (2, 3).
- the low edge (10) of the section (2) comprises a first element (20) which, it is welded or permanently joined to it by equivalent means.
- This element (20) has in its lower part an area of greater thickness (21).
- This thicker zone (21) can follow a shape of a rod or the like, and extends over the entire width of the selvedge (10).
- the selvedge (11) of the element (3) has an element (22) which is also welded or joined to it almost definitively by any equivalent means.
- this element (22) has a groove (23) of profile complementary to the bulged area (21) of the section (2).
- FIG. 3 A detail of the shape of the complementary elements (21, 23) is illustrated in FIG. 3.
- the zone of greater thickness (21) of the element (20) follows a shape of substantially triangular section, having its point oriented. towards the adjacent section (3).
- the area (23) of the section (3) has a complementary profile in section. More precisely, this groove (23) has branches (24, 25) which close towards one another to form a groove with a restricted opening.
- the element (21) is put into place in the groove (23) by slight deformation of the branches (24, 25). Conversely, the triangular shape of the area (21) requires a significant extraction effort to remove it from the groove (23). The joining of the two adjacent sections is thus carried out by limiting the risks of seeing the sections separate one and the other unexpectedly.
- the invention is not limited to this single embodiment in which the complementary elements integral with the adjacent sections have a triangular shape and the complementary shape, but it also covers other variants in which the cooperation between an element (20, 22) is effected by a profile in circular section, or in general any other shape allowing easy installation and good resistance to tearing.
- the section has at its edge (10) an element (30) which is welded or secured to it by any other equivalent means.
- this element (30) comprises a plurality of hooks (31, 32, 33) oriented perpendicular to the main plane of the element (30).
- Each hook (31-33) has at its end a bulged part (34, 35, 36) having a thickness which decreases away from the element (30).
- These various elements (31, 33) have a general shape similar to that of a harpoon.
- the edge (11) of the section (3) is equipped with an element (37) identical to the element (30).
- the different hooks or harpoons (38) are therefore identical to the hooks (31, 33) of the element (30) or complementary.
- the hooks (38) of the element (37) interpenetrate the hooks of the complementary element (30), without requiring significant effort, taking into account the shape of the hooks.
- the shape of these hooks prevents tearing, at least under low effort.
- the joining of the two horizontal edges (10, 11) of the sections (2, 3) is thus carried out.
- the shape of the hooks as well as their number per element (30) can be optimized as a function of the width of the poster. It is in no way limited to the single form illustrated.
- FIG. 5 An alternative embodiment is illustrated in which the selvedge
- the selvedge (11) of the section (3) is equipped with an element (42 ) similar to the element (41), but having a symmetrical configuration with respect to a horizontal plane.
- connection between the sections (2) and (3) is obtained by means of an additional member (44) having a zone (45) cooperating with the hooks (47) of the element (41).
- the additional member (44) comprises a second zone (46) intended to cooperate with the hooks (48) of the element (42).
- the establishment of the additional member (44) is carried out in the same way as the elements (30), (38) illustrated in FIG. 4 are associated. Thanks to the use of the additional member (44) , it is possible to choose more flexible materials for the production of elements (41, 42) integral with the sections (2, 3). It is in particular possible to choose a material having deformation qualities close to those of the material used for the printed canvas. In this case, when this fabric deforms, the element (41) deforms with it, the latter sliding transversely inside the additional member
- FIG. 6 Another alternative embodiment is illustrated in FIG. 6 in which the selvedges (10) and (11) of the sections (2, 3) are equipped with identical elements (50,
- the continuity of the lateral rod (7, 17; 8, 18) can be obtained by various means, and in particular parts of the junction elements (60, 61).
- These junction elements may be metal or plastic rods, capable of conforming to the curvature of the rod when the latter is wound on the rollers of the unrolling device, not shown.
- junction elements (60, 61) can, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 7, be placed inside a housing (62) pierced in the very thickness of the rod (7, 17; 8, 18 ).
- the length of the joining element (60, 61) as well as its diameter and its material are determined so as not to generate too great stresses on the rod (7, 17; 8, 18) during the winding on the rollers of the drop-down device.
- the holes (62) made inside the joint (17) are centered in a precise manner so as to obtain optimal continuity of the rods thus secured.
- FIG. 8 A variant of this connection is illustrated in FIG. 8 in which the joining element (60) is placed transversely in a groove (65) having an opening (66) opening out laterally.
- the profile of the opening of this groove is determined to facilitate the lateral introduction of the element of junction (60) without exerting excessive forces.
- FIG. 9 A preferred variant of the joining of the rods is illustrated in FIG. 9.
- the joining element (80) takes on the shape of a jumper.
- This rider (80) has a central part (81) which is housed in the groove (65) of the rod (60).
- the jumper (80) has a curved branch (82,83), typically at 90 °.
- these branches (82,83) each enter a hole (68) made in the rod, at the bottom of the groove (65). In this way, the rider (80) increases the resistance to tearing of the consecutive poster sections.
- locking pieces may include a first element comprising two tabs (72, 73) mounted on a plate (74). These tabs (72, 73) pass through eyelets (75, 76) made on the horizontal edges (11, 12), in the lateral zones. The tabs (72, 73) are then snapped or riveted or secured by any other means to a plate (71) present on the opposite face of the display support.
- These locking pieces (70, 71) may be present on both sides of the display device, or alternatively distributed over the width of the display support.
- the locking pieces are advantageously made of a flexible material which can follow the curvature of the display support when the latter is wound on the rollers of the unwinding device.
- FIG. 10 A variant concerning the locking parts is illustrated in FIG. 10.
- each poster section (2,3) receives an additional piece (102,103) which is joined to the poster by welding, gluing or equivalent.
- This additional part comprises a protruding sheath (104), pierced with a through hole (105).
- the additional parts (102,103) are positioned so that their through holes (105) are in the axis of each other.
- a pin (106) is introduced into the through holes (105) of the two additional parts (102,103).
- the pins (107) of the pin (106) are then folded down to prevent any relative movement of the poster sections (2,3).
- the pin (106) can be replaced by an equivalent means making it possible to ensure a similar connection.
- This variant has the advantage of not requiring access to the opposite face of the poster, which simplifies the implementation operations.
- the poster structure illustrated in FIG. 1 in which the different sections (2, 3, 4) each include pulls from the lateral rod (7, 17, 27; 8, 18, 28) can be replaced by the structure illustrated in Figure 11.
- the display support (90) consists of three sections (91, 92, 93) which do not have a side rod. These sections (91, 92, 93) are joined by their horizontal edge in the same way as are the sections (2, 3, 4) described in detail above.
- sections (91, 92, 93) form an assembly which then receives on each of its selvedges a single element (94, 95) comprising a single rod (96, 97) extending over the entire length of the display support.
- the connection between the elements (95, 94) with the assembly formed by sections (91, 92, 93) can be carried out according to the various means mentioned above with regard to the junctions between the horizontal edges of sections.
- the invention is not limited to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 11 in which the display support comprises only three sections, but it covers all the variants concerning the dimensions and the number of sections used .
- the display medium according to the invention has multiple advantages, and in particular that of allowing the replacement of one or more posters individually inside a set of posters.
- This modularity allows management of different periods inside a single scrolling display device.
- the posters thus individualized can be reused more easily for subsequent campaigns.
