Definitions

  • the invention relates to a shower head according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • shower heads of the type mentioned above are available in a variety of configurations, which differ in particular in the type and number of effervescent jets they produce. Commonly used are, for example, so-called “hard jets”, which emerge at relatively high speed and small cross-section of the nozzle openings of the shower head and, if necessary pulsating, can also be used for massage purposes. So-called “soft jets” are enriched with air, have a rather large cross section and flow out of the corresponding nozzle openings at a lower speed; they leave a particularly rich, soft and pleasant feeling on the skin of the beholder. Since the demands on the bathroom equipment in recent years are constantly growing, there is also a constant need for shower heads that can produce shower spray of other kinds and in their appearance, in and out of function, give the impression of luxury.
  • a shower head of the type mentioned shows the DE 196 49 005 A1 where a plurality of shower heads are arranged on a wall rod, of which the upper is designed as a surge shower. A hand shower and a massage spray on the wall bar are also provided.
  • the various shower heads are supplied by a shower hose, which is connected to a desired shower by means of a plug-in coupling can be. This shower head does not convey the impression of luxury sufficiently.
  • a jet of special kind can produce a bath spout, which from the US 4,513,458 has become known, and has a low-noise shrinkage of the bath water to the goal.
  • the supplied cold and warm water is mixed in an elongated housing and discharged through a long narrow slot.
  • the water hits from above on an elongated, concave curved plate, where it runs on on its surface and finally flows freely like an elongated waterfall in the tub.
  • a spout could in principle also be used inside a shower cubicle, it does not convey the impression of luxury in its appearance.
  • Object of the present invention is to provide a shower head of the type mentioned, which can produce a new kind of effervescent spray in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
  • the present invention generally provided at the top of the housing water outlet shell initially gives the entire shower head an unusual, sensational aesthetic appearance, however, accompanied by a technical function: This consists in the emerging from the water outlet opening of the housing water initially on a relatively large Distribute the area and then let it flow in free fall, resulting in a substantially closed water curtain.
  • This showerhead So does not have, as is known from conventional showers her, a variety of individual spray jets, but simulated in a way a small waterfall. This triggers a feeling of special well-being in many people.
  • the outlet shell has an opening into which opens the water outlet of the housing, also has a technical effect in addition to an aesthetic effect: So it is possible in a fairly simple manner, the outlet shell to grasp mechanically; the water outlet opening of the housing takes over storage function at the same time.
  • the axis of the housing in the ready state of the attachment point of the housing can point obliquely upward, in which case the water outlet opening is coaxial with the housing.
  • an alternative may be that the axis of the housing in the vicinity of the attachment point of the housing extends horizontally and that in the operable state, the axis of the water outlet opening extends at an angle to the axis of the housing in the vicinity of its attachment point.
  • This variant can be used especially where the outlet shell should be located at a greater distance from the attachment point.
  • the fact is taken into account that the formed by the outlet shell Although water curtain leaves a very pleasant, comfortable feeling, but on its own often not all the wishes of the user is enough. Therefore, in this embodiment can be switched to a different type of effervescent jets, for example, on the already mentioned above bundle of hard or soft rays, which can then be used for massage purposes or for soaping and rinsing.
  • the switching between the modes happens by the fact that the functional part is rotated about the axis of rotation. Special slides are not needed as a switching device.
  • FIG. 1 shows a total provided with the reference numeral 1 shower head, which is fixed in a manner known per se to a shower bar 2 slidably.
  • the exact nature of the guidance and locking of the shower head 1 on the shower bar 2 is not shown in the drawing. It may be a pure friction guide, which is so stiff that the shower head 1 can not move under its own weight on the shower bar 2. But it may also be a clamping or other locking device, which must be solved for moving the shower head 1 on the shower bar 2.
  • the shower head 1 comprises a substantially cylindrical housing 3, whose axis is approximately at right angles to the axis of the shower rod 2 and in its in FIG 1 left area is penetrated by the shower rod 2. Inside the housing 3 there is a water inlet chamber 4, in which can be fed via a non-illustrated connection nipple of a shower hose made of water, which comes from a valve, also not shown. With the help of this fitting, both the amount and the temperature of the introduced into the water inlet chamber 4 water is determined.
  • a likewise cylindrical insert 5 is inserted into the housing 3, which rests against a step 6 on the inner circumferential surface of the housing 3.
  • the interior of the insert 5 is divided by an axially extending partition 7 into an upper chamber 8 and a lower chamber 9.
  • the water inlet 4 adjacent end face 10 of the insert 5 has two through holes 11 and 12, each leading into one of the two chambers 8, 9.
  • a slider 13 On the outside of the end wall 10, a slider 13 is guided linearly displaceable in a manner not shown, which is connected to an angled, executed by a bore 15 of the housing 3 from the housing 3 hand actuator 14. By pulling or pushing the manual operating member 14, the slider 13 can be selectively brought into the position shown in Figure 1, in which the passage opening 11 to the upper chamber 8 blocks and the lower passage opening 12 is opened to the lower chamber 9, or in that position at which the passage opening 11 is released into the upper chamber 8 and the passage opening 12 is blocked in the lower chamber 9.

It form below the shower head 1 relatively hard water jets with a small cross-section.
  • the slider 13 is pulled down by means of the manual operating member 14, so that it blocks the passage opening 12 to the lower chamber 9 of the insert 5.
