Definitions
- the present invention relates, in general, securing motor vehicles.
- the invention relates, according to a first of its aspects, a method of assisting driving a motor vehicle, comprising a scrutiny procedure consisting of collecting piloting commands issued by the driver of the vehicle by means of steering devices, and a evaluation procedure consisting in evaluating a vector status based at least on information signals and piloting commands issued by the driver, this state vector being at least representative of conditions vehicle rolling.
- the processes belonging to this class include a prevention procedure which consists in not take into account the piloting commands issued by the driver only to the extent that these commands only safety of the vehicle and its occupants.
- the scrutiny procedure includes taking into account the control command represented by the depression of the brake pedal by the driver, the procedure includes an estimate of the slippage of wheels braked relative to the track, and the prevention procedure, which is implemented when the conditions of grip of the wheels on the track are insufficient given the intensity of braking, consists in modulating the braking torque to avoid a loss of directional control of the vehicle which would result from a wheel lock.
- the aim of the present invention is, according to a first of its aspects, to propose a process assistance with driving a motor vehicle, allowing to increase the rolling safety of a vehicle despite this difficulty.
- the method of the invention by elsewhere conforms to the generic definition given by it the preamble above, is essentially characterized in that it includes, in addition to the procedures for previously mentioned scrutiny and evaluation, a prevention procedure consisting in transmitting to the conductor, via a piloting activated or about to be activated, a tactile stimulus, such as vibration, in response to detection of an imminent deterioration of the rollover linked to the piloting command issued by the driver by means of this control device.
- the invention concerns a human-machine interface for piloting of a motor vehicle, comprising a device for control, such as a combiner element, sensitive to a actuation by the driver of the vehicle, and a control circuit delivering a power supply signal function of at least a first state condition,
- a device for control such as a combiner element
- a control circuit delivering a power supply signal function of at least a first state condition
- this interface being characterized in that it comprises in in addition to a vibrator attached to the control device, that the power signal is selectively delivered to the buzzer, which is activated when the signal is received power supply, and that this power signal is delivered to the vibrator at the latest in response to the appearance of a concomitance between an actuation of the piloting and the first condition of state.
- the human-machine interface the invention further comprises at least one sensor for proximity mounted on the steering device and supplying the control circuit with an information signal in response to the detection of a proximity condition of driver's hand in relation to this device control, the supply signal being delivered by the control circuit in response to a concomitance between the information signal and the first condition.
- the proximity sensor detects advantageously the proximity condition of the hand of the driver in relation to the steering device at most late when driver's hand touches this device steering.
- the proximity sensor consists by a capacitive sensor
- the vibrator can meanwhile include an electric motor with a motor shaft, and a flyweight mounted unbalanced on the motor shaft.
- the invention relates in particular a method of assisting with piloting a motor vehicle.
- This process which will be explained with reference to the FIG. 1, includes at least one scanning procedure, an evaluation procedure, and a prevention, the innovative aspects of the process focusing in the latter procedure.
- the scrutiny procedure consists of collecting control commands, such as K1 to Kx, that the vehicle driver transmits by operating devices steering, such as P1 to Px.
- the invention can be implemented by through a single steering device, developing a single control command.
- control devices namely no only the main devices, such as the steering wheel, the accelerator, the clutch or the brake, but also the ancillary devices, such as switches lighting, the right and left turn signals, and the horn.
- the evaluation procedure consists of evaluating permanently a state vector, of components such as E1 to Ez, which gives a more or less complete picture of all of the vehicle's driving conditions and which generally takes into account not only the state of the vehicle itself (engine speed for example), but also of its environment (external temperature by example), and also relationships between the vehicle and its immediate and instant environment (wheel grip on the ground, crossing a speed limit zone, presence of surrounding vehicles, etc.).
- this state vector is developed at from information signals, such as J1 to Jy, from various sensors with which the vehicle is equipped, and control commands, such as K1 to Kx, issued by the driver.
- the method of the invention further comprises a prevention procedure particular, implemented conditionally, and consisting in transmitting a tactile stimulus to the driver.
- this prevention procedure is implementation in the event that the actuation, in progress or imminent, of a steering device, such as a P11 flashing light switch mounted on a combiner 1 (often designated by the skilled person under the term "commodo", by reference to a brand filed), appears in a rolling situation such that this actuation produces or announces an alteration imminent rolling conditions, or the risk of a such alteration.
- a steering device such as a P11 flashing light switch mounted on a combiner 1 (often designated by the skilled person under the term "commodo", by reference to a brand filed)
- this prevention procedure is implemented by transmitting to the driver a tactile stimulus, such as that a vibration, through the device of P11 control which is being activated or on the point of being actuated, thus announcing immediately to the driver the existence of a situation requiring all his vigilance, without disturbing others vehicle passengers.
- the prevention procedure will transmit, via the Px device, a tactile stimulus to the driver who will be informed of the anomaly that conceals his maneuver.
- the method of the invention is implemented by a human-machine interface as illustrated example by Figure 1, in which are in particular represented a combiner 1, a control circuit 2, and a vibrator 3.
- Combiner 1 includes several elements such as, for example, that two flashing light switches, P11 and P12, capable of being actuated by the hand of the conductor, respectively by lowering and by lifting the combiner 1.
- Actuation of the P11 device produces a command K11 and actuation of the device P12 produced a K12 command.
- the control circuit 2 is for example constituted by an assembly comprising at least one logical unit 20 developing a state vector and a power circuit 200 at least partially controlled by the logic unit 20, this control circuit 2 being in particular capable of delivering, under certain conditions, a power signal Sv.
- the vibrator 3 is fixed to the piloting device P11 and for example housed in the combiner 1.
- the vibrator 3 can be constituted by an electric motor 31 provided with a shaft motor 30, and by a counterweight 32 mounted unbalanced on the motor shaft 30.
- This vibrator is connected to control circuit 2 to ability to be activated by signal Sv power supply, upon receipt of the latter.
- the control circuit 2 delivers the power signal Sv to vibrator 3, including setting walking alerts driver to risk of collision which would result from an immediate lane change.
- the power signal Sv can be delivered by control circuit 2 at the time when appears the command K11 which translates the actuation of the switch P11, in the case where the first condition state E1 is performed, i.e. while the vehicle under consideration is about to be overtaken by a other vehicle.
- the human-machine interface of the invention may include a proximity sensor, such that 41, mounted on the steering device, for example on element P11 of combiner 1, and delivering to control circuit 2 an information signal such as J41 even before the command signal K11 is produced resulting from the actuation of this steering device P11.
- the proximity sensor 41 can thus be consisting of a capacitive sensor capable of detecting the driver's hand approaches or touches the P11 steering device, even before the movement driver's hand has produced an actuation of this device P11.
- a proximity 42 can be mounted on the combiner 1 to detect the imminence of an actuation of the piloting P12 controlling the right side flashing light other proximity sensors that can still be mounted on combiner 1 to detect a imminent activation of other steering systems carried by this combiner, for example those which are dedicated to controlling the operating mode of the headlights.
- the reference to the proximity detection of the hand of the driver must be understood as including detection of proximity to any part of the body that the driver can use to operate the actuation of a device piloting, and for example the foot in case this device consists of a pedal, the application to a combiner remaining nevertheless an application particularly advantageous of the invention.
