Abstract

The procedure for the packing of a stack (1) of packed goods having a flat top side and sidewalls entails the lowering of a horizontal plate (15) onto the stack until resting upon the top side (7). In the lowered position the plate on all sides reaches at least the upper edge (12) of the stacked goods. The lowering of the plate is carried out subsequent to the laying of a cover sheet (8) and before fixing of the edge (8a) of the cover sheet by means of packing film. An Independent claim is included for a packing device for a stack of packed goods with a flat top side and sidewalls which includes a plate and device to lower it onto the top side of the stack.

Description

The invention relates firstly to a method for packaging a flat top and sidewalls having Packgutstapels, in which an overlaid on the top and with its edge on all sides over the top of the stack of goods protruding cover sheet covered in the course of the provision of the side walls of the stack of packaged goods with this and is fixed to the side walls.

Furthermore, the invention relates to a packaging device for a flat top and sidewalls having Packgutstapel.

An apparatus for packaging a stack of packaged goods is known e.g. known from DE 199 58 292 A1. In this device, the side walls of the packaged goods stack is provided with foil in such a way that the packaged product is wrapped with a foil pulled from a film roll. The film distributor used here, which is guided around the packaged goods on a circular path, is additionally axially, i. movable in the height direction, so as to put the mutually offset turns of the packaging winding.

In the case of many goods, it is desirable to provide not only the side walls of the stack of packagings, but also the upper side thereof with a protective film layer. For this purpose, it is customary that, before the windings for the sidewalls are finished, a cover sheet is first deposited on top of the stack of packagings, the size of this cover sheet exceeding the size of the top of the stack of packagings, and therefore projecting the edges of the cover sheet over the top edge. This edge is detected by the last, the upper area of the side walls detecting windings and wrapped as it were.

A disadvantage has been found that air, which is located after placing the cover sheet between the bottom and the top of the stack of packaged goods, is included in this way. Therefore, unwanted air cushions or air bubbles remain on the top side of the stack of packagings.

The invention has for its object to provide a solution to the above problem with the aim to prevent air pockets between the top of the stack of packaged goods and the cover sheet.

To solve this problem, a method according to claim 1 is proposed. A method according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US-A-5 048 261. Here is a flexible material web for fixing the cover sheet. The use of a rigid plate is described for example in EP-A-0 336 517.

According to the invention it is therefore provided that, after placing the cover sheet on the top of the stack of packaged material, a plate preferably arranged above the stack of packaged goods is lowered onto the upper side and thus onto the cover sheet located there. As a result, the first remaining air between the top of the packaged product stack and the underside of the cover sheet is pushed out. This state is maintained until the protruding edge of the cover sheet is covered in a subsequent step by the film with which the side walls of the packaged goods are provided, and fixed to these side walls. Significant cavities between top pack stack and bottom cover sheet are prevented in this way even after the plate used to squeeze the air was removed by lifting again.

The inventive method is particularly suitable for packaging machines that operate on the winding principle, in which therefore the side surfaces of the stack of packaged goods are provided by wrapping with foil. In principle, however, the method described is also suitable for other types of packaging technology, for example for packaging machines, in which the provision of the side surfaces of the stack of packaged goods with film is carried out by stretching or by a shrinking process.

In the context of the invention, it is further provided that the plate is deformable and initially only comes with a part of its total area in contact with the top of the pack stack when lowering, and that only then reach the other areas of the plate in contact with the top. This will improve the air squeezing out between the air Top of the packaged goods and the cover sheet reached. Air pockets are particularly well avoided in this way. In this case, it is additionally advantageous if the contact of the plate with the upper side takes place on the middle of either the length or the width of the upper side. The plate therefore first comes into contact with the upper side on the middle of the upper side of the stack of packagings, and then the air is squeezed out from there to the edges out of the gap between the upper side and the cover sheet. Such a method is particularly effective and time-saving.

With a further embodiment of the method, it is proposed that the plate deforms from a curved or curved shape into a flat shape during the lowering as a result of the contact with the top side of the packaged goods stack.

In order to improve the application of the edge of the cover sheet to the side walls of the stack of packaged after lowering the plate directed to the above the top of the stack of goods stack edge of the cover sheet and this legend laying against the respective side wall air flow are generated, said air flow for the Duration of fixing the edge is maintained.

It is further described a packaging device for a flat upper side and side walls having Packgutstapel, which is characterized by a stack above the Packgutstapels plate and means for lowering the plate on the top of the stack of packaged goods, the plate in the lowered state on all sides at least to the Top edge of the stack of goods enough.

The plate is deformable and has on its underside a first portion and at least one further portion, wherein in an only partially lowered state, only the first portion, and in the fully lowered state all areas are in contact with the top of the stack of packaged goods. In this way, the air accumulated between the top and the top sheet is squeezed out particularly effectively in the direction of the top edges of the stack of packagings. For this purpose, it is also advantageous if the first portion is located at the center of either the length or the width of the underside of the plate.

With a further embodiment, it is proposed that the plate is curved or curved and deformable to the extent that it deforms when lowered onto the top of the stack of packaged goods into a planar shape. During this deformation, the accumulated air is pushed further and further to the outer edge of the stack of packaged goods, where it can escape under the cover sheet.

According to a further embodiment, the plate is connected to a carrier plate arranged above it, which is flat on its underside, behaves rigidly and can be lowered by means of the lowering device in the direction of the pack stack. Such as two-part design of the plate is advantageous because the above arranged and flat on its underside support plate behaves rigidly, and therefore the plate arranged below can deform only to a state in which it is completely flat and in this way over a large area rests on the top of the packaged goods stack. A concave bending of the flexible plate is safely avoided in this way.

Preferably, the lowering device comprises a scissor lift, the lower end of which is articulated on the upper side of the carrier plate, and whose upper end is articulated on a stationary frame of the packaging device. Furthermore, an embodiment is preferred in which the plate is connected to the carrier plate exclusively in the region of two mutually parallel edges. In this case, the plate can be movably connected to the carrier plate at least at one of the two mutually parallel edges in the horizontal direction. This allows a length compensation of the deformable plate with respect to the predominantly rigidly behaving support plate.

Another embodiment of the packaging device is characterized by air nozzles, which are arranged in the region of the edges of the plate and / or the support plate, and whose flow outlet is directed inwardly under the plate. The use of these air nozzles improves the application of the protruding edge of the cover sheet on the side surfaces of the stack of packaged goods, before this edge is then coated with foil and fixed in this way.

Finally, a plate made of perforated sheet is proposed with a further embodiment. Such formation of the plate facilitates the escape of the air that is between the top of the topsheet and the bottom of the plate. At least part of this air can escape upwards through said holes of the plate.

Im einzelnen zeigen:Further details and advantages will become apparent from the following description of an embodiment shown in the drawing. In detail show:

Figures 1 to 5: in different process stages provided with a winding device packaging machine for packing stacks of packaged goods.

The drawing shows a side view of a packaging machine for a loaded with a stack of goods 1 pallet 2. The packaging of the piece goods or the stack of packaged goods by wrapping with packaging film, including a ring 4 is arranged on a frame 3 of the packaging machine, along which a film distributor around the stack 1 is feasible. The ring 4 forms the stator of a winding device. Another component of the winding device is a winding slide 4a, which can be moved along the ring 4, for which purpose the slide is provided, for example, with a suitable electric drive. On the carriage 4a is the film distributor 5, consisting of a film roll arranged therein and preferably a plurality of rollers, over which the withdrawn from the film roll packaging film is guided when it is wrapped around the stackable piece 1 stack. Preferably, either the carriage 4a or the film distributor 5 is in height, i. movable with respect to the winding axis in the axial direction, so as to achieve the vertical propulsion during the winding process. For packaging the packaged goods with the plastic film, therefore, the carriage 4a moves along the fixed ring 4, so that the plastic film discharged from the film distributor 5 wraps around the side walls 6 of the packaged goods. The winding movement is accompanied by a superimposed axial movement in which either the carriage 4a, the film distributor 5 or the ring 4 arranged in the frame 3 is lowered or raised in the manner already described. In this way arises in Figure 1 on the packaged 1 well recognizable, approximately helical winding of the winding film.

By means of the winding technique described, only the side walls 6 of the stack of unit goods 1 can be covered with film, but not the flat and flat upper side 7 of the stack of articles 1. In order to cover the upper side 7 as well, a cover sheet 8 is placed there during the winding process, cf. For this figure 2, the cover sheet 8 is subtracted from a mounted on the frame 3 film roll 9 and pulled substantially horizontally over the top 7 over, including their own technical facilities are available. The peeled off from the film roll 9 cover sheet is by means of suitable Cut devices then cut, whereupon a scattered cover sheet 8 is formed, which deposits under gravity on the top 7 of the stack of articles 1, see. 2). The size of this cover sheet 8 is dimensioned such that it protrudes on all sides with an edge 8a over the upper edge 12 of the stack of articles 1. Preferably, the width and the length of the cover sheet 8 20 cm to 40 cm larger than the corresponding width or length of the top 7 of the stack of lumps 1. After placing the cover sheet 8 whose edges 8a hang down similar to the edge of a tablecloth, without the edges 8a already create itself on the side walls 6 of the cargo stack. The reason for this is the excessive rigidity of the film material from which the cover sheet 8 is made.

In the frame 3 is located above the stack of pieces 1, a device for squeezing that air, which is located after placing the cover sheet 8 in the cavity 13 between the bottom and the top 7 of the stack of articles. This device consists of a deformable plate 15, a substantially rigidly behaving support plate 16 above the plate 15 and a lifting or lowering device 17. The lifting or lowering device 17 is in the illustrated embodiment, a motor-driven scissor lifter, with the help itself lower the carrier plate 16 and raise it again.

The plate 15 is arranged on the underside of the carrier plate 16 and consists in the embodiment of a perforated plate. The plate 15 is relatively thin-walled, which is why it bends down as a result of its own weight in the manner shown in Figures 1 and 2. Only in the region of the two mutually parallel edges 20 of the support plate 16, the plate 15 is connected to the support plate, which is why the plate 15 can bend freely on its interposed length. The connection between plate 15 and support plate 16 is not rigid in the region of the edges 20, but movable in the horizontal direction. In this way, the perforated plate 15, as soon as its bending is transferred to a stretch, relative to the support plate 16 can expand unhindered.

If the support plate 16 is lowered by means of the lifting or lowering device 17, then the plate 15 initially only in the region of its strongest deflection, which portion is provided in Figure 3 by the reference T, in contact with the cover sheet 8. Only in the course of further lowering of the support plate 16 then put all other areas of the plate 15 to the cover sheet 8, which is shown in Figure 4. In this way, the between the top 7 of the cargo stack 1 and the cover sheet 8 accumulated residual air squeezed from the inside out before it escapes in the region of the upper edges 12. After the support plate 16 has completely lowered with the plate 15, the plate 15 is flush and just on top of the cargo stack, significant air bubbles or air pockets are no longer present between this top and the cover sheet 8. For this purpose, it is necessary that the plate 15 extends in a lowered state on all sides at least up to the top edge 12 of the packaged goods. Preferably, the plate 15 in the region of its edges about 5 to 10 cm larger than the top 7 of the stack of packs. 1

The above-described lowering of the plate 15 and thus the squeezing out of the air from the cavity 13 under the cover sheet 8 is preferably carried out at a time (Fig. 4), to which the winding process for the side walls 6 of the packaged goods 1 is not yet completed, and especially the upper windings are missing.

After having been lowered in the manner described, the plate 15 and the air could escape under the cover sheet 8, then the last windings are carried out in the upper part of the piece goods stack 1, wherein the downwardly depending edge 8a of the cover sheet 8 is wrapped with. So that the free hanging of the edge 8a is not hindered by that film section 21 of the winding film, which is already discharged from the film distributor 5, but not yet applied to the side surface 6, this film section is previously artificially stretched, thereby reducing its film width B. In the Fign. 1 to 4 this is shown. For stretching the film section 21, an increased tensile stress is exerted on the film section by means of the film distributor 5. By stretching the film is narrower and hindered at the location "P" barely the hanging down of the edge 8 a of the cover sheet. Subsequently, the winding process is continued, wherein the edge 8a is wrapped with.

To further achieve that the protruding edge 8a of the cover sheet 8 rests well before wrapping it on the side walls 6 of the stack of articles, 16 air nozzles 22 are arranged on the plate 15 or the support plate. The flow outlets of the air nozzles 22 are directed inwardly below the plate 15, whereby an air flow is generated, which presses the protruding edge of the cover sheet 8 against the respective side walls 6 of the stack of pieces 1 until the last winding or the last windings are done and on this way the edges 8a of the cover sheet are covered and fixed to the side walls, as shown in FIG.

Once these last windings are completed, the air nozzles 22 can be switched off again, also plate 15 and support plate 16 are raised back to its upper rest position.
