Definitions

  • the invention relates to a painting plant for applying liquid coating material to workpieces with an automatically controllable color changer, an applicable to high voltage atomizer, extending between the color changer and the atomizer supply line of electrically insulating material through which a pig is moved back and forth, and with a connected to the supply line potential separating means for electrostatically insulating at least one connected to the supply line reservoir for the coating material and the atomizer relative to the color changer.
  • Such a painting plant which is used for electrostatic coating, in particular of motor vehicle bodies, is known from DE 199 61 270 A1.
  • There two reservoirs are provided with variable by an extendable and retractable piston volume, wherein between the color changer and the first reservoir, a first supply line and between the first and the second reservoir, a second supply line are provided.
  • the supply lines are emptied using one pig each and then each form an insulating section, which prevents a flashover from the first reservoir to the color changer or from the second reservoir to the first reservoir.
  • the known system can be operated so that it can be continuously coated from the standing under high voltage second reservoir, for which a metering conveyor is provided in the form of a gear pump, while the first reservoir is alternately connected to high voltage and ground potential, so that during the coating operation can be alternately filled from the outside and emptied into the second reservoir.
  • a color changer 1 is connected to a loop system 2, from which different shades a - n can be supplied.
  • Each individual loop is assigned a color tone valve 3a to 3n in the color changer 1, by which the respective color is released within the color changer 1.
  • rinsing agent valves 4a-4n for rinsing agent and rinsing air valves 5a-5n for rinsing air are arranged.
  • the released color is fed into a supply line 7, which extends from the color changer 1 to a sprayer 8.
  • a first or front pig parking station 9 is arranged, which seen in Lackflußcardi represents the one or front end of a pig rail track, which is identical to the feed line 7.
  • the other, seen in Lackflußcardi, second end of the pig track is also designed as a pig park station 10 and is located directly on or in the atomizer 8. If coating material from the color changer 1 is fed into the supply line 7, the coating material pushes a pig initially located in the pig parking station 9 11 in front of him until it has arrived at the pig terminal 10.
  • the pig parking station 10 is designed such that the coating material can flow past or around the pig 11 and can exit from the atomizer 8 via the atomizer valve 12.
  • a release valve 13 and an exhaust valve 14 are opened at the end of the supply pipe 7.
  • a sensor 15 is arranged, which detects the arrival of the pig 11 and thus the end of the Andrückvorgangs.
  • the duration of the pressing process can also be controlled by measuring the amount of paint or the pressure applied.
  • the atomizer 8 is an applicable to high voltage potential electrostatic atomizer and the coating material to an electrically conductive paint, eg. As a so-called water-based paint, care must be taken that it does not come to a short circuit during operation over the paint supply line 7 filled with conductive paint.
  • a potential separation device 16 is arranged between the color changer 1 and the atomizer 8, which enables the required electrical isolation. Structure and function of such a potential separation device are known in the art. For details, DE 197 56 488 A1 can be found.
  • the potential separation device 16 includes a first potential isolation valve 17 and a second potential isolation valve 18 and a first storage cylinder 19 and a second storage cylinder 20 for the coating material, both of which each work with a piston.
  • a dosing member 21 downstream in which it is z. B. may be a Zahnraddosierpumpe.
  • a pneumatic remote-controlled paint pressure regulator LDR could be used, for which various installation positions may be appropriate.
  • the potential separating device 16 is connected to the supply line 7 via a front connecting line 40 and a rear connecting line 41, which are each provided with a shut-off valve 22 and 23, respectively.
  • the shut-off valves 22 and 23 are located in the immediate vicinity of the supply line 7.
  • the coating material located in the supply line 7 can thus be fed into the potential separation device 16 and the storage cylinder 19 and 20.
  • a drain line is connected to a drain valve 24 immediately before the check valve 23.
  • shut-off valves 22 and 23 of the connection lines 40 and 41 are opened until the potential separation device 16 is filled.
  • the dosage of the filling amount can be made by means of the dosing member 21.
  • the drain valve 24 closes.
  • shut-off valves 26 and 27 are within shut-off valves 26 and 27. These are a front shut-off valve 26 and a rear shut-off valve 27, which limit the insulating portion 25 and which are installed in the supply line 7 and formed as a piggable ball valves. This means that the inner diameter of the two ball valves correspond exactly to the inner diameter of the supply line 7 and thus the pig can pass through the open shut-off valves 26 and 27.
  • the insulating section 25 between the two shut-off valves 26 and 27 forms a bypass to the potential-separating device 16.
  • shut-off valves 26 and 27 are closed.
  • a drain valve 28 immediately before the rear check valve 27 is opened and via a release valve 29 immediately behind the front check valve 26 purge air and detergent are blown via a flushing valve 30 and a purge valve 31 in the insulating section 25.
  • the release valve 29 and the drain valve 28 are arranged so that the coating material located in the insulating portion 25 is rinsed residue.
  • the insulating portion 25 is chosen as short as possible, so that the paint loss resulting from the flushing is kept as low as possible. However, the insulating portion 25 must be sufficiently long that the high voltage applied to the atomizer 8 is reliably isolated from ground potential.
  • the atomizer valve 12 is closed and the high voltage is turned off.
  • the shut-off valve 23 of the rear connecting pipe 41, the rear shut-off valve 27, the release valve 29 and the drain valve 32 are opened.
  • the coating amount contained between the shut-off valves 22 and 23 in the potential separator 16 is fed as much as possible into the empty insulating section when the shut-off valve 22 and the release valve 37 are open, which is completely filled with coating material.
  • the check valve 23, the release valve 29 and the drain valve 32 are closed, and the front check valve 26 and the release valve 13 on the atomizer 8 are opened.
  • the sliding air valve 33 located at the atomizer 8 is opened and with a pneumatic pressure which is higher than the pressure inside the loop system 2, the pig 11 located in the pig parking station 10 is pressed by the supply line 7 in the direction of the color changer 1. He pushes the coating material located in the supply line 7 in front of him and pushes it back through the opened color tone valve 3n in the associated ring line 2n.
  • the pig 1 arrives in the pig park station 9
  • it is detected by a sensor 35 arranged there, whereupon the return operation is terminated.
  • a rinsing agent valve 34 arranged on the atomizer 8 is opened in alternation with the sliding air valve 33 also located there.
  • the sliding air valve 33 also located there.
  • the system After completion of these rinses, the system is ready again to feed a new color from the color changer 1.
  • the required rinsing time can be significantly reduced when heated rinsing agent is used for the rinsing of the individual line sections.
  • the loss of coating material during color change is essentially limited to the content of the insulating portion 25 which is rinsed after pressing the color tone.
  • the remaining, unsprayed amounts of paint are substantially completely recovered - except for adhering to the inner line walls coating material, which is rinsed out.
