Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel supply device for Internal combustion engines according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a fuel supply is described in DE 197 36 283 A1 is specially designed for the use of a distributor pump.
- the With this supply system fuel is supplied by one in the Distributor pump integrated suction pump conveyed from the tank and the actual high pressure pump supplied. This compresses the fuel and distribute it to the individual cylinders. To a great extent even after a cold start will quickly have preheated fuel available excess fuel from the distributor pump via a Circulation line immediately returned to the pump inlet. This already compressed and warmed fuel mixes here with a small amount of cold fuel from the tank.
- Compressor systems have recently become available for fuel injection used that compress the fuel to over 1000 bar. These systems tend to overheat and therefore have to be constantly cooled.
- the Necessary cooling is usually realized in that a Backing pump a multiple of that required by the high pressure pump Fuel promotes. The excess leads the heat from the high pressure pump and is returned to the tank.
- Such high pressure pumps have has proven itself well and in the meantime when used as intended has reached a sufficient service life. After changing the fuel filter there was an increased number when the business resumed Loss ratio.
- Fine air bubbles in the fuel supply system can also get through improper hose connections, not tightened Screws, from marten bites in hoses or from other leaks caused.
- such air bubbles are very difficult Remove from tough, low-viscosity fuels. Even emptying the Fuel tank leads to the same phenomenon. In all of these cases it can cause significant damage to the high pressure pump or even damage it their destruction are coming.
- the intermediate fuel store is included Gas separation function directly before the high pressure generator and after the Fuel filter provided. This way everyone can Air pockets, including those caused by a filter change, be removed.
- the fuel delivered to cool the pump is already too high preheated and should be used especially for the cold start process - instead to flow back to the tank unused - back to the high pressure generator To be available. This fuel is therefore in the upper range of the Fuel buffer initiated.
- a line emerging from the fuel filter also opens into the upper area of the fuel buffer. Maybe with air mixed fuel remains until its segregation due to its lower specific gravity in this upper area, during the deflated, heavy, pure fuel in the lower area of the Fuel storage tank drops. From this lower area the Fuel removed and fed to the high pressure generator. A thrush and a pressure relief valve for the return of excess and fuel may be too hot through a return line to the tank are provided at the upper end of the fuel buffer. To the Air supply to the high pressure generator among all Avoiding operating conditions is in the fuel buffer a level sensor is provided. This level sensor produces advantageously Way an alarm signal when the fuel level in the Fuel buffer falls below a predetermined minimum.
- the only figure shows a schematic representation of the fuel supply device according to the invention.
- a fuel line 13 whose open end in the lower region of the fuel tank 1 with a Pre-filter 12 is covered with the fuel pump 2 in Connection. This promotes the intake fuel through the Fuel preheater 3 and pushes it through a fine fuel filter 4. From there it becomes the upper area of the fuel buffer store 5 fed.
- the Fuel removed again and one via line 11 High pressure generator 9, here one Radial piston high pressure distributor injection pump supplied.
- a vane pump is integrated in pumps of this type should ensure safe filling of the radial piston and a multiple of that Injection required injection quantity promotes. This in excess Pumped fuel is used to cool the pump and is supplied via the line 10 returned to the upper area of the intermediate fuel store 5.
- the fuel buffer 5 fills up quickly with not too warm and therefore relatively viscous fuel.
- the Choke 6 is designed so that it quickly in these operating conditions builds up a high pressure in the fuel buffer, which ensures that fuel reaches the injection pump 9 in sufficient quantity.
- a second sensor 15 provided in time for air to enter the supply line 11 switches off the internal combustion engine to the high pressure generator 9. This leaves both with a complete tank emptying and with a Damage to the fuel supply system safely prevents air from entering the high pressure generator and thus damage or destruction prevented the same.
