Abstract

The device is for adjusting the relative position between a ski heelpiece fixing provided with a toothed bar (8) and a runner (2) provided with two opposite teeth (16,17) meshing with the bar teeth. The teeth of one of the parts are offset by a half tooth and the teeth are truncated. The teeth of the two parts alternatively mesh from each side enabling an adjusting step to be had equal to a half tooth.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for adjustment of the relative position between a first piece and a second piece of a shoe binding on a sliding board, in particular a ski, in which the first part has a shaped part bar whose parallel sides are provided with regular teeth cooperating with teeth of conjugate shape formed in the sides of a cutout rectangular of the second piece to secure longitudinally the two pieces in one position relative selected.

Such a device is used, for example, in the rear binding element of a ski boot or heel piece described in US Patent 5,913,532. The body of the heel is slidably mounted on a slide and a hinged lock on the body of the heel allows to immobilize the heel piece on the slide. AT For this purpose, the lock has a part in the form of bar with two symmetrical side teeth relative to the axis of the bar, these teeth simultaneously engaging in the teeth formed in a cutout of the slide. To change the adjustment, the latch is raised by means of a lever to allow the heel to move, then the locking it in another position.

In such a device, the fine adjustment depends obviously the finesse of the teeth. Due to thrust of the shoe on the heel, the teeth are subject to significant effort and so it's difficult to reduce the size of the teeth without too much weaken these. In addition, due to the games necessary for inexpensive manufacturing, the teeth also cannot be too fine.

The object of the invention is to refine the adjustment without it it is necessary to reduce the size of the teeth.

The device according to the invention is characterized in that that the teeth of the teeth are triangular in shape truncated, in that the overall width of the part in the form of a toothed bar of the first part is equal to the distance between the teeth of the second part increased by the height of a tooth and in that at minus the teeth of the teeth of one of the pieces are longitudinally offset by a value such as when, on one side, the corresponding teeth are engaged one in the other, the opposite teeth come into contact through the truncated ends of their teeth.

The equality discussed above must heard to be understood approximately, account held games necessary for a commitment and a easy release and to a manufacturing admitting relatively wide tolerances.

For reasons of simplification of manufacture, the opposite teeth of one of the pieces are preferably symmetrical relative to the axis of this part, while the other teeth are offset one part relative to the other of the value of half a tooth. However, this condition is not necessary.

It is thus possible to move one of the pieces by compared to each other by the value of half a tooth. then of such displacement, the two pieces will move transversely to each other of the height of a tooth, since these are the other two teeth that will engage while the teeth previously engaged teeth will be placed one opposite the other side truncated against face truncated. In order to allow this transverse displacement or approximately transverse, one of the pieces can present a transverse clearance corresponding to the height a tooth or be pivotally mounted around an axis vertical by a distant end of the part toothed.

Le dispositif selon l'invention trouvera principalement une application dans une talonnière du type décrit dans le brevet US 5,913,532 ou la demande de brevet EP 0 908 202, mais il est possible de l'utiliser dans d'autres arrangements, par exemple dans une fixation de ski à réglage symétrique telle que décrite dans les brevets FR 2 673 847 et 2 771 941 et dans le brevet DE 41 35 899.The device according to the invention will mainly find an application in a heel cup of the type described in US patent 5,913,532 or patent application EP 0 908 202, but it can be used in other arrangements, for example in a ski binding to symmetrical adjustment as described in the patents FR 2 673 847 and 2 771 941 and in patent DE 41 35 899.

According to an embodiment applied to a heel of binding of the ski comprising a body mounted on a slide, the first part is an articulated bar on said body and the second piece is the slide herself.

  • The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
  • Figure 1 is a side elevational view of a heel piece.
  • Figure 2 is a bottom view of the body of the heel, without the slide.
  • Figure 3 is a top view of the slide and the bar connected to the body of the heel in a first position.
  • FIG. 4 is a view similar to that of FIG. 3 with the bar in another position offset by a half-tooth relative to the position shown in FIG. 3.
Figure 1 shows a design heel known in the open position. This heel includes a body 1 mounted on a slide 2 itself fixed to the screw means on a ski 3. On the body 1 is mounted a retaining element 4 from which the pedal 5 is distinguished and the jaw 6 intended to come to rest on the rear sidewalk of a shoe to maintain the shoe heel on the ski.

In the lower part of the body 1 of the heel piece, is mounted a bar 8 connected by one end 9 (Figure 3) to the body 1 so as to be able to tilt in a vertical plane, that is to say perpendicular to the plan of the ski, and so as to present a game in a direction transverse to slide 2. Bar 8 has two teeth on its parallel sides opposite 10 and 11 with regular, shaped teeth triangular initial are truncated so present a flat top face 12. In addition, the teeth 10 and 11 are not relatively symmetrical to the longitudinal axis 13 of the heel piece and the slide, but they are offset longitudinally parallel to this axis 13 of the value of half a tooth, that is to say a length equal to half a step teeth. So if we draw a perpendicular to axis 13 passing through a hollow in one of the teeth, this perpendicular passes through the middle of the face 12 a tooth of the opposite toothing. Bar 8 is in additionally provided with a bent portion 14 rising above of the slide, i.e. inside the body 1. When the heel is mounted on the slide, this part 14 is accessible and it allows lift the bar to adjust the position.

For its part, the slide 2 has a cutout longitudinal rectangular 15 whose sides have two opposite teeth 16 and 17 symmetrical relative to the axis 13 of the slide. The teeth of these teeth 16 and 17 have the same shape, the same pitch and the same dimension, apart from play, as the teeth 10 and 11 of bar 8. In addition, the overall width of the toothed part of the bar 8 is equal to the distance between teeth 16 and 17 of the slide 2 increased by the height of a bar tooth, less play required for inexpensive manufacturing and easy handling.

When the toothed part of the bar 8 is engaged in the cutout 15 of the slide 2, the bar occupies for example the position shown in the figure 3. In this position, the toothing 10 of the bar is engaged in the teeth 16 of the slide, but in because of the offset of teeth 10 and 11 of the bar, teeth of toothing 11 come together position in front of the teeth of the toothing 17 of the slide. The facets 12 of the teeth of the teeth 11 therefore come up against the corresponding facets teeth of the teeth 17, so that the bar is immobilized in this position and the heel piece occupies a first position on slide 2.

A spring, not shown, recalls the bar 8 vertically down in a position of engagement of its teeth with those of the slide. So, to go from the position shown to the Figure 3 at the position shown in Figure 4, we lift the bar 8 by its part 14 and move very slightly the heel backwards on the slide 2, i.e. in the direction of arrow F by releasing the bar 8, which re-engages in the slide, so that its teeth 11 engage in the teeth 17 of the slide, while the teeth of its teeth 10 are placed opposite the teeth of the toothing 16. The bar 8 has moved transversely of the height of a tooth. Taking as reference the teeth 16 and 17 of the slide, we therefore see that the bar 8 has moved from the half a tooth, i.e. half a step teeth 16 and 17. The spring is supported in the body 1 and exerts on the bar 8 a force substantially vertical, so that the bar engages in the teeth located to the right or left of the slide without be diverted from either of these positions by the recall effort.

As has already been said above, it is obvious that bar 8 could have teeth symmetrical and the offset teeth slide.

The principle of adjustment by offset teeth described above in the case of a heel piece mounted on a slide is applicable to other types of fastening ski. It is particularly applicable in fixings ski comprising front binding elements and rear symmetrically movable to adapt them to different shoe sizes, the elements of fixing being mounted on supports each provided of a rack and pinion symmetrically by a central pinion, as described, for example, in the patents FR 2 673 847 and DE 41 35 899 or by means of several pinions as described in patent FR 2 771 941. At least one of the racks can be connected to the corresponding support by teeth similar to toothing described for a heel piece.
