Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil adaptateur (10) pour la réception de programmes audiovisuels numériques. Cet appareil comprend une unité de commande (12) comportant au moins une interface (14) reliée à une unité de sortie audiovisuelle (16), au moins un point de branchement (24) pour un module d'accès conditionnel (CAM) (26) permettant de décoder des programmes codés, un bus de données bidirectionnel (22) situé entre l'unité de commande et ledit point de branchement, ainsi que des lignes de commande (30) situées entre l'unité de commande et le point de branchement. Selon l'invention, cet appareil comprend également un CAM (20) intégré à demeure et relié au bus de données, un capteur (34) pour détecter un CAM inséré dans le point de branchement, ainsi qu'un commutateur (32) qui, en fonction d'un signal du capteur (34), relie les lignes de commande au point de branchement ou au CAM intégré à demeure.
