Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for the production of printed matter such as books, brochures or the like. From printed sheet consisting of a printing machine and at least two stacking points of a stacking device gathering machine which forms loose stacks of sheets at the stacking points, and with a first transport device, the sheet from the printing press via a switch selectively supplies a stacking point of the stacking device, and a second transport device which feeds the stack of a further processing machine.
  • Gathering machines are known in the printing industry. These machines are each integrated in a printing and processing line. These lines usually have a roll-off area in front of the gathering machine, a printing area and a cutting and folding area. After the gathering machine, a further processing area is arranged, for example with a stapling or adhesive binding machine.
  • DE 2 107 595 teaches a device for printing printed products, preferably newspapers, with a web-fed rotary printing press, a cutting apparatus, a folding unit and a Auslegeapparat for the folded newspapers, the latter having a arranged at the output of the folding gate switch for so-called.
  • Reversal of movement of newspapers, below which are two spring arms with stops next to each other, under which bunkers are positioned for stacking newspapers. It is formed by the switch in the bunkers packages from several newspapers, the folds of the newspapers of a package are stacked opposite to the folds of the other package.
  • the individual Parcels removed by means of circulating chains, passing through the bunker, fork-like containers for further processing.
  • US 3,980,183 which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1, discloses a printing machine with a downstream folding machine, which produces uniformly printed folded sheets, which are processed bound for an indirectly subsequent further processing in stacks.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, which allows a higher performance.
  • the object is achieved in a generic device in that the collating a digital printing machine for sequential digital printing of sheets is connected upstream and that the stacking device of the collator is formed at the stacking points for stacking successively transported sheet to book blocks. Due to the alternative loading of the two stacking points an interruption can be avoided. The paper tension can be maintained. A new tightening, aligning and clocking is not required. It is essential that a continuous formation of loose blocks of books is possible.
  • the inventive device is particularly suitable for the so-called FOD (Finishing on Demand). It is also possible to produce small editions of books sequentially in digital printing become. The range of such requirements is, for example, between 1 and 3000.
  • the device according to the invention allows cost-effective production of such small runs in digital printing.
  • the first transport device 4 has two endless belts 17 and 18 which are guided around two guide rollers 20 and 21 and which feed the sheets 1 transported in a row one behind the other in the direction of the arrow 40 to a stacking device 3.
  • This stacking device 3 has two switches 12 and 13, which can be set so that the sheets 1 can optionally be fed to a first stacking magazine 7, a second stacking magazine 8 or a waste container 16. In the position of the switch 12 shown in Fig.
  • the sheet 1 are directed down and stored in the direction of the arrow 42 in the stacking magazine 7. There are so many sheets 1 stored in the stacking magazine 7 until a loose book block 2 is formed.
  • the stacking magazine 7 can be moved to align the loose book block 2 back and forth.
  • the bottom of the stacking magazine 7 is formed by a plurality of rods 49, which are withdrawn after the complete formation of the book block 2, so that the book block 2 falls down on a second transport device 5.
  • This second Transport device 5 is designed as a table and has at predetermined intervals driver 46, which transport the deposited book blocks 2 in the direction of the arrow 41 to a transversely actuated slide 44. Instead of drivers could also be used a conveyor belt. In front of this slide 44 embarkstossfinger 45 are arranged.
  • the book blocks can be stopped and moved with the slider 44 transversely to the transport device and aligned at a fixed edge.
  • the lateral displacement of the book blocks 2 could also be done with a diagonal promoting means, for example. Driven band that is adjustable.
  • the impact fingers 45 are lowered and the book block 2 is further transported in the direction of the arrow 41 to a further processing machine 6.
  • This further processing machine 6 is in particular an adhesive binding machine in which the book blocks 2 are bonded in a known manner on a turntable not shown here and provided with an envelope. But there are also other finishing machines, such as sewing machines possible.
  • a book block 2 is formed in the stack magazine 7, then the switch 12 is changed over and the following sheets 1 are transported horizontally to the switch 13. If this is in the position shown in FIG. 2, these sheets 1 are deposited downwards and in the direction of the arrow 43 in the stacking magazine 8. If a book block 2 is formed, then this is also dropped onto the second transport device 5 and transported by the driver 46 to the slider 44, where this book block 2 is aligned. Subsequently, this book block 2 of the further processing machine 6 is supplied. Is in the stacking magazine 8, a book block 2 is formed, the subsequent sheet 1 are fed back to the stack magazine 7.
  • the gathering machine 50 thus has two stacking points A and B, which are driven alternately to form a book block 2.
  • the second transport device 5 is controlled so that the printed sheets 2 do not collide.
  • the two switches 12 and 13 are set so that the sheet 1 are transported horizontally in the waste container 16.
  • the gathering machine 60 shown in FIGS. 3 to 5 has a first transport device 4 'which transports the printed sheets 1 to be stacked in the direction of the arrow 27 to a switch 14. After this switch 14 bands 22 and 23 are arranged, which transport the sheets 1 depending on the position of the switch 14 either up or down. If the switch is in the position shown in FIG. 4, the sheets 1 are deflected upwards.
  • a second transport device 3 ' is arranged, which is Y-shaped and has two arms 25 and 26. On these arms 25 and 26, the sheets 1 are preferably transported in the scale flow.
  • pressure rollers 24 are provided which cooperate with the arms 25 and 26 to form a scale flow. The formation of such scale flows is known per se to the person skilled in the art.
  • Fig. 4 is such a scale flow S indicated.
  • the switch 14 If the switch 14 is in the position shown in FIG. 4, the sheets 1 are transported to the arm 25 and with it via a downwardly directed region 25a into a collection channel 9. In another position of the switch 14, not shown here, the sheets 1 pass over the arm 26 and an upwardly directed region 26a also into the collecting channel 9.
  • the Y-shaped design of the stacking device 3 'in the collecting channel 9 two spaced apart Stacking points A 'and B' formed. These stacking points A 'and B' are also used by switching the switch 14 selectively or alternately. Thus, if a book block 2 is formed at the stacking point A ', the following sheets are conveyed to the stacking point B'.
  • the further transport of the book blocks 2 formed by a second transport device 5 ' which is formed for example by a conveyor belt.
  • the transport takes place in the direction of arrow 28.
  • the book blocks 2 formed are likewise fed to a further processing device 6.
  • FIGS. 6 to 8 show a collating machine 70, which has a first transport device 4 ", which sheets 1 are fed in the direction of the arrow 32. With this transport device 4 '' the sheet 1 are fed individually to a switch 15, which deflects the sheet 1 either to bands 29 or 30.
  • the bands 29 transport the sheet 1 to bands 36, where with Anpressrollen 31 from the sheet 1, a scale flow S is formed.
  • the downwardly directed bands 30 lead the sheets 1 on lower bands 37, where a scale flow is also formed.
  • the switch 15 directs the sheet 1 up to the tapes 36 um.
  • the bands 36 and 37 are parts of a stacking device 3 '', with which in an upper collecting channel 10 and a lower collecting channel 11 alternately book blocks 2 are formed.
  • a book block 2 is formed in the upper collecting channel 10 at a stacking point A ". If the switch is changed over, the following sheets 1 are transported down to a second stacking point B ". If a book stack 2 is formed, it is detected by drivers 52 as shown in FIG. 8 and conveyed to a second transport device 5 ".
  • a buffer device can be used to maintain the production flow of upstream machines. After the buffer device 47, a further processing machine 6 is also arranged.
  • the gathering machine 70 two collection points A "and B" are provided. In principle, however, more than two collection points can be provided here. This also applies to the gathering machines 50 and 60.
  • the stacking devices 3, 3 ', 3 " In order to change the book block formats, it is necessary for the stacking devices 3, 3 ', 3 "to be of variable design, wherein a change can also be made between two differently sized book blocks 2.
  • the adjustable stacking devices 3,3 ', 3'' are connected to a control device.
  • the adjustment of the stacking devices 3, 3 ', 3 " can be computer-controlled or automatic.
  • the number of sheets 1, from each of which a book block 2 is formed, may be different.
  • a book block 2 can be formed from a single sheet 1.
  • the cutting of the sheet 1 takes place in a cutting machine, not shown here, also called trimmer.
  • the Sheets 1 are printed sequentially in a digital press.
