Definitions
- the present invention relates to a locking fitting for sliding door leaf, window or the like, comprising a housing elongate in one direction and adapted to be introduced into an opening in a wall on the inside of the sliding leaf, a sliding assembly which is movable in the longitudinal direction of the housing and which comprises an operating member for actuating the sliding assembly from said wall of the sliding leaf, this actuating member being accessible through a longitudinal slot formed in an outer wall of the housing, sliding assembly comprising a bolt-holder carrying a bolt and receiving a locking screw of the bolt accessible by the light, the sliding assembly being shaped such that the head of the screw is masked by a removable cover integral with said sliding assembly.
- a fitting of the aforementioned type is known, for example, from GB-A-2 310 453 whose homologue GR-A-2 001 772 was published before the priority date claimed in the present application.
- EP-A-345 185 also discloses a close fitting.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a fitting of the aforementioned type which is of simple and economical structure, extremely reliable, and which can be easily adapted to allow adjustment on site, on the assembly site, the position of the lock according to that of the opening relative to the frame, as for the bolt.
- the fitting of the type thus cited at the beginning of the description is characterized in that the above-mentioned cover and sliding assembly comprise means adapted to retain the cover on the sliding assembly during the actuation of the screw.
- the lock fitting 1 for a sliding leaf 2 of a door, window or the like comprises, inside a casing 3, a slider 4 movable in the longitudinal direction 5 of the housing 3 and carrying a bolt carrier 6, means for locking the slider 4 relative to the housing 3 in the locked position of said slider 4, and means for releasing the slider 4 from its locked position.
- the slider 4 comprises means forming an operating member 7 accessible through a longitudinal slot 8 formed on the outer wall 9 of the housing 3.
- the slide 4 has on its face 10 adjacent to the outer wall 9 of the housing 3 an element 11 projecting from a predetermined height C with respect to said adjacent face 10.
- This projecting element 11 is arranged in such a way that, in the locked position of the slider 4, it protrudes through the slot 8 and abuts against the edge 12 of the outer wall 9 which defines the longitudinal end of the slot 8 on the opposite side to the locking direction 13 of the slider (see FIG. 2).
- the projecting element 11 defines by its transverse face 11a opposite to the locking direction 13 a song 11a which engages with the edge 12 in the locked position of the slide 4 (see Figure 2).
- Element 11 thus constitutes a burglar-proof device and blocks the slider 4 in its locked position.
- Elastic return means 14 are arranged between the slider 4 and the housing 3 so as to permanently urge the slider 4 towards the outer wall 9 of the housing 3 while allowing the slider 4 to move in the direction perpendicular to the outer wall 9 over a distance at least equal to said predetermined height C. This makes it possible to push the projecting element 11 towards the inside of the casing 3 in order to unlock the slide 4 from its locked position, the projecting element 11 then sliding along the internal face 9a of the outer wall 9 of the casing 3.
- the distance C is, for example, substantially equal to the thickness of the wall 9. The anti-break-in element 11 has thus been released.
- the housing 3 is introduced into a slot 16 formed in the inner wall 17 of the sliding leaf 2.
- the sliding leaf 2 is a conventional opening consisting, for example, frames of aluminum profiles or other material.
- the outer wall 9 of the housing 3 completely covers the opening 16.
- the housing 3 is fixed in a conventional manner to the inner wall 17 of the opening: each transverse edge 19, 20 of the opening 16 is clamped between the outer wall 9 housing 3 and a fastener 21 by means of a fastening screw 22 introduced from outside the housing 3 into a hole 23 of the outer wall 9 (see Figures 1 to 3).
- the housing 3 is constituted by a profile 24 having two longitudinal side walls 25, 26 substantially parallel projecting from the same side relative to the outer wall 9.
- Each Lateral longitudinal wall 25, 26 has on its longitudinal edge 27, 28 opposite the outer wall 9 a longitudinal fold 29, 30 extending transversely to the other side wall 26, 25.

- the slider 4 comprises two lateral tabs 14 each adapted to bear resiliently on the corresponding fold 29, 30 of the housing 3.
- the tabs 14 are made in any known manner. They may be fixed in any manner, for example by welding or brazing, to the slider 4. They may also be molded in one piece with the slider 4.
- the slider 4 has, in its middle part, means forming an operating member 7 constituted by a recess 32 whose concavity is turned towards the slot 8 of the outer wall 9 of the housing 3.
- This recess 32 can be made, for example, by molding or by folding. It allows the passage of the fingers of a user of the fitting, through the light 8, to the bottom 33 of the recess 32 to allow to exert a longitudinal force to move the slide 4 in one direction or the other in the longitudinal direction 5 of the housing, and a force in the direction perpendicular to the outer wall 9 of the housing 3 to unlock the slide 4 from its locked position.
- the slider 4 comprises means 34 adapted to cooperate with complementary means 36 of the housing 3 to make the two unlocked and locked positions of the slider 4 stable positions by elastically opposing with a predetermined force all displacements in the longitudinal direction 5 in one direction or the other of the slider 4 from one or the other of said stable positions, the case by assisting the displacement of the slider 4 to the opposite stable position in case of exceeding an unstable or substantially unstable mean position.
- the slider 4 comprises two fingers 34 protruding longitudinally with respect to one end 35 of the slider 4.
- Each of the lateral longitudinal walls 25, 26 of the housing 3 has a bulge 36 projecting towards the inside of the housing 3. relative to this wall 25, 26.
- Each bulge 36 is arranged so that a probe 38 formed at the free end of the corresponding finger 34 and projecting towards the corresponding wall 25, 26 of the housing 3 relative to the finger 34 is located respectively on one side and the other of said bulge 36 in the stable, unlocked and locked positions of the slider 4.
- Each bulge 36 thus constitutes, at the start of one or the other of the two stable positions of the fingers 34, the locked locked position shown in full lines in FIG. 1, or the unlocked position represented in dashed lines in this figure, a first ramp to the passage of which the fingers 34 must be elastically erased when the slider 4 passes from one or the other of said stable positions to an unstable or substantially unstable average position, then a second ramp on which the fingers 34 resiliently support when the passage of the slider 4 of this average position to the opposite stable position.
- the instability of the average position is due to the presence of the bulges 36 and the elastic stress exerted by the fingers 34 on these bulges.
- the bulges 36 are, for example, formed by inward deformation of the housing 3 of the longitudinal side walls 25, 26 of the housing 3. This deformation, which is a plastic deformation, is easily achievable. when the housing 3 is a profile 24 of light metal or plastic.
- Stopper means 41 are provided on the internal face 25a, 26a of at least one longitudinal lateral wall 25, 26 of the casing 3 after the insertion of the slide 4 inside the casing 3, in order to limit the stroke of the slide 4 in at least one direction inside the housing 3.
- each longitudinal wall 25, 26 of the housing 3 there is preferably a stop 41 on each longitudinal wall 25, 26 of the housing 3 in the vicinity of each longitudinal end of said housing 3.
- These stops are made in any known manner, for example in the form of punctures by punching a tongue directed towards the inside of the housing in each of the lateral longitudinal walls 25, 26 thereof.
- the slider 4 carries near the end 42 of the operating element member 7 opposite to the projecting element 11 a bolt holder 6.

- the length and the spacing of the two ribs 132, 133 are determined so as to allow the finger 49 to penetrate in the housing 50 between the two ribs 132, 133, when the disc 48 rotates in one direction or the other, to bear on the wall 50a, 50b of the second rib 132, 133 encountered, and to push, by by means of this second rib 132, 133, the plate 103 in the direction corresponding to the longitudinal direction 5 over a predetermined distance in order to move the sliding assembly 4 from the locked position to the open position of the bolt 40 or vice versa, and then to allow finger 49 to escape said second rib 132, 133 encountered to allow the end of the rotation of the barrel 46.
- the disc 48 is adapted to be received in the housing circular 134 formed in the guide member 115 opposite the plate 103.
- the disc 48 has a flattened open flat 46a in which is adapted to penetrate the tongue 109 to allow the actuation of the disc 48 by the barrel 46.
- the plate 103 provided with two pins 126 thus makes it possible to control by means of the key 45, from outside the opening 2, the displacements of the sliding assembly in the locking direction 13 to its locked locked position.
- the element 11 engages the edge 12 under the action of the elastic means 114.
- the plate 103 likewise makes it possible to control the displacements in the opposite direction by means of the key 45.
- the surface 111 of the pin 126 acting on the surface 53 of the stud 52 extracts the projecting element 11 from its position in FIG. taken with the song 12 of light 8.
- a fitting 101 of simple and modular structure has thus been described making it possible to choose on the spot the functions that one wishes to obtain: locking by means of the key, locking by means of the key, automatic locking in the locked position, etc. .
- the elements constituting the fitting 101 are adaptable to all ranges and to all opening materials, and to all dimensions.
- a handle of any type other than that described above for example a lever or rocker or pusher handle, passing through the lumen 8.
- a slider and a housing respectively comprising the fingers 34 and bulges 36, or the lug 61 and the conformations 62, 63 and 64, without having a projecting element 11 adapted to project by the light 8 in the locked position of the slider 4.
- the bolt carrier 6 and the bolt 40 may be of any type.
- the guide member 115 could be fixed to the housing 3 in another way.
- the attachment of the guide member 115, by rivets easy to install, on the fastener 117 allows to use the guide member 115 only in the case where there is provided a lock for the control, since the outside of the opening, of the sliding assembly by means of the key 45.
