Description

The invention relates to an assembly consisting of an insulating Housing in which at least one insulation displacement contact is arranged, the one Has insulation displacement and a contact section, and from a holding element, which has at least one connection contact, the connection contact has a press-on section which on the contact section of the Insulation displacement contact is pressed.

The housing, which can be a turned part made of metal, is usually with a Provide contact carrier, which is equipped with several insulation displacement contacts is. The insulation displacement contacts are designed as insulation displacement terminals at one end and at the other end as a contact section. Can in the insulation displacement clamps a cable to be connected is pressed in such a way that its insulation is cut and the inner wires are contacted. With the contact section a cable is usually soldered. The housing together with the Contact carriers are usually cast.

The disadvantage is that for soldering the cable to the contact sections the insulation displacement contacts require a certain assembly time is. Furthermore, the casting of the contact carrier with the housing is comparative time-consuming because waiting and drying times are required.

From DE-A-299 15 553 is a connector of the type mentioned known in which the housing and the holding element during manufacture be potted together so that a plug part is formed. That of the Insulation displacement contacts opposite end of the connection contact is as a socket executed, inserted into the pin contacts of a complementary connector part can be.

From DE-A-200 05 868 is a connector with insulation displacement contacts known, which are snapped into a contact carrier.

The object of the invention is that with the insulation displacement contacts to further equip equipped housings in such a way that a shorter assembly time is achieved with simplified handling.

For this purpose, according to the invention, the module mentioned at the beginning Kind provided that the connection contact a connection section has, with a cable to be connected to the insulation displacement contact can be connected, and that the holding element is firmly latched to the housing. In general terms, according to the invention, there is one for each insulation displacement contact Intermediate element provided, namely the connection contact that on the Contact section of the insulation displacement contact is pressed and therefore the previously makes the required soldering process unnecessary. By using a Holding element for the connection contacts, which firmly latch with the housing potting is no longer necessary. That to the insulation displacement contact cables to be connected can either be soldered into the connection sleeve, or the connection sleeve can be crimped onto the cable. That way you can pre-assembled components can also be manufactured. For connecting the cables it is then only necessary to the insulation displacement contacts, the holding element snap into the housing.

1 to 4 is an assembly according to a first embodiment shown. The assembly includes a housing 10, one on the outside Locking groove 11 is formed. The function of the locking groove will be explained later. In the housing 10 a contact carrier 12 is arranged, in which four insulation displacement contacts 14 are used. 1 of the insulation displacement contacts to 3 see essentially only one contact section 16, here as a contact pin is executed. On the opposite, lying inside the housing 10 In the end, each insulation displacement contact is designed as an insulation displacement terminal. In the Insulation displacement terminal, a cable to be connected can be pressed in, the Insulation clamp cuts through the insulation of the cable and contacts its wire. The housing can be used as a wall bushing.

The assembly also has a holding element 20, which with a Locking collar 21 is provided. The locking collar 21 can be in the locking groove 11 on the housing 10 intervene. Four connection contacts 22 are inserted into the holding element 20. Each contact 22 has a pressing section 24, which here as closed sleeve is formed, an anchoring portion 26 which in the Holding element 20 is cast, and a connecting portion 28 with which a connected to the corresponding insulation displacement contact cable can be. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 4 is the Connection section formed channel-shaped so that a cable can be soldered can. The anchoring section 26 is designed here as a thickened collar with grooves, which ensures a good hold in the holding element 20.

At least the holding element 20 and the contact carrier 12 consist of electrical insulating plastic. The housing 10 can, depending on the application also consist of plastic or metal.

To mount the connection contacts 22 on the contact sections of the Insulation displacement contacts, the holding element 20 is pushed onto the housing 10 in such a way that each pressing section 24 of a contact 22 on the Contact section of an insulation displacement contact is pressed. This ensures good electrical contact. When the holding element 20 is pressed on the locking collar 21 snaps into the locking groove 11 in the housing 10, so that the holding element 20 is fixedly attached to the housing 10.

Finally, a lock nut 30 can be placed on the holding element 20 be attached to the housing 10. On the opposite side of the A pressure screw 32 can be screwed on by means of the housing Pressure part is pressed onto the insulation displacement clamps in the way that is guided in the pressure part Cables are pressed into the insulation displacement contacts of the insulation displacement contacts. This is known from the prior art, so that it is not further described here becomes.

This differs essentially from the first embodiment by the type of connection sections 28 of the contacts 22 and by the type of attachment of the holding element 20 to the housing 10.

The insulation displacement contacts are also in the second embodiment Provide insulation displacement clamps 18 (see FIG. 5). The one on the opposite side of the insulation displacement contacts attached terminal contacts 22 have connecting sections 28 on, which is designed here as a crimp sleeve. In Figure 7 are the connector sections to be seen in a state crimped onto one cable 34 at a time; the connecting portions 28 are cylindrical from their initial state Outer contour formed into a cross section with a hexagonal outer contour.

As can be seen in FIG. 9, the locking collar 21 of the holding element 20 is like this executed that it can be inserted into the interior of the housing 10. there snaps a collar 36 on the locking collar 21 in the formed in the housing 10 Locking groove 11 a. The holding element 20 is then firmly accommodated in the housing 10.

By using a snap connection between the holding element 20, which is provided with the contacts, and the housing 10, which with the Insulation displacement contacts is provided, there is greater flexibility in the Assembly of the housing 10. It is now no longer necessary to connect the Cables individually with the connection sections of the insulation displacement contacts to solder. Instead, the holding element with the connection contacts locked with the housing 10. The holding element can be pre-assembled with different cables in different designs are selected so that only the desired holding element is selected must become. Alternatively, the cables to be connected can be plugged in the terminal portions of the terminals are crimped, and then can the holding element with the cables attached to it inserted into the housing 10 become.
