Definitions

  • the invention relates to an armrest which is fastened in particular height-adjustable on a armrest support stand, and the two-shell formed a Armlerissa- and a -oberschale and an insert in a cavity between the two, wherein the upper shell in particular has a padded support for the arm, wherein in the shell of the armrest formed by Armlehnenober- and armrest lower shell Insert body is arranged, which is narrower compared to the width of the cavity, which is fixedly connected via means for fastening to the armrest stand, and which is fixedly connected via means for fastening to the armrest stand, wherein insert body and the means for fastening are designed such that the insert body in the shell remains sufficiently loose for its mobility.
  • Armrests for armchairs and chairs are known.
  • swivel chairs in offices are often equipped with such armrests, which are attached by means of an armrest stand to the seat support of the chair and protrude substantially horizontally from the backrest.
  • an armrest is provided, the top usually has a padding to a Forearm to give a more comfortable pad.
  • the armrest carrier may be formed so that the armrest is height adjustable; such armrests are made DE 299 01 666 or DE 298 09 099 known, the latter being pivotable in a substantially horizontal plane.
  • the US-A-5,641,203 discloses a further embodiment in which the assembled from an armrest upper shell and a -unterschale armrest in the shell has an insert which connected to the armrest support allows a longitudinal displacement and pivoting of the armrest.
  • the armrest is after US-A-5,876,097 built double-shelled and provided with an insert whose training allows pivoting.
  • Other armrests of this kind reveal the US-A-6,017,091 and the US-A-5415459 ,
  • this armrest forms a clamshell hollow body, which is positively assembled from an upper shell and a lower shell placed on the armrest stand and fixed to this with fastening means.
  • a rear attachment means acts as an axis of rotation and a front attachment means is guided in a curved slot which allow the pivoting, which is limited by the slot length.
  • a desired pivot position means for fixing the pivot position are provided.
  • a guided over a cross bar, elastically biased mounting bracket is provided, both of which are provided with corresponding locking means which allow fixation by snapping, the latching means of an adjusting device can be canceled.
  • this armrest design does not allow for horizontal level adjustment for adjusting the armrest position to the user's body constitution, which is moreover easily changeable with changing users.
  • the adjustment described there are limited because the locking means allow only limited adjustments.
  • the armrest with at least two fastening means, such as rivets, screws or the like., Which engage the insert body, screwed to the armrest carrier.
  • the lower shell corresponding to the position of the fastening means and cooperating with these mounting sleeve of the armrest stand two slots, which are aligned transversely to the longitudinal extent of the armrest and which are straight.
  • the insert body in the double-shell armrest is narrower than the transverse dimension of the insert body receiving cavity.
  • the armrest is displaced relative to this insert body, which is ensured by the slots.
  • the fastening means are formed so that when tightening this fastening means this enabling displacement-enabling lots remains, so that a lateral displacement is made possible.
  • the two-shell armrest thus fastened is thus laterally displaceable relative to the insert body - and thus also relative to the armrest stand.
  • a parallel displacement strips are provided in the bottom of the insert body receiving cavity of the lower shell, which engage in provided in the insert body lower part grooves.
  • the path of the armrest is limited inwardly or outwardly by the application of the insert body to one or the other of the lateral inner walls of the cavity in the armrest.
  • a latching device is provided which engages beyond the lateral limit stops for at least one middle position (advantageously, further latching positions are provided).
  • This latching device is advantageously formed by a latching body which engages in corresponding grooves.
  • This locking body - such as a ball or a cylinder - is resiliently mounted so that it can be dug out of a detent position with relatively little force, but incident in the next detent position by itself.
  • suspension are in principle all spring elements; a preferred spring storage is advantageously carried out via an elastomeric insert body with soft-elastic properties.
  • the insert body provided in the interior of the double-shell armrest is designed in two parts - it has an insert body lower part and an insert body upper part.
  • the top insert is attached to the armrest stand with two screws.
  • the cooperating with the upper body insert body bottom is connected to this by a hinge.
  • the upper insert body is pivotable relative to the frame-fixed lower insert body.
  • the insert body lower part is advantageously formed approximately X-shaped. His arms are doing so from that their expiring in straight legs ends can create one side of the inner walls of the insert body receiving cavity to limit the transverse displacement.
  • the two parts of the insert body are connected via the hinge. Since the upper insert part is arranged fixed to the frame by the screw connection to the armrest stand, the lower insert part is thus pivotable relative to the latter about the axis of the rotary joint. However, the insert body lower part is coupled via the engaging in its grooves strips on the inside of the lower shell with this - and thus with the entire double-shell armrest. A pivoting of the insert body lower part relative to the upper insert body thus has a total pivoting of the armrest result. Locking means between Armlehnenober- and armrest lower shell ensure that a once taken position is not left unintentionally, and that a desired position can be found again.
  • the insert arranged in the armrest is fixed to the armrest carrier by means of a connecting piece which is guided by a window provided in the lower shell. After fixing the connector in the armrest carrier remains a lateral mobility of the insert enabling lots exist.
  • the relative to the width of the cavity narrower insertion piece has on the armrest upper shell or the armrest base side facing at least two substantially rectangular protruding locking lugs, which provided with on the inside of the lower or upper shell latching recesses interact as locking means. These locking recesses are arranged on the one, the locking lugs associated inner side in a plurality of spaced-apart distributed.
  • a latching means are provided on one of the sides of the insert and on the side of this associated side of the housing at least two substantially perpendicularly projecting locking lugs and cooperating with these detent recesses. It is initially irrelevant which of the inner sides of the locking recesses and which has the locking lugs. While the locking lugs are spaced apart on the one surface, the locking recesses are arranged distributed on the other surface associated with this surface areally. There is a large number of locking recesses on this page. In these latching means thus formed, the detents sit in one of the fitting recessed detent, whose arrangement is such that the distance between the detents and the distances of the detent recesses are compatible with each other. With this compatibility it is achieved that latching recesses are suitable for the locking lugs.
  • the latching lugs are arranged on the insert piece so that they face the lower part.
  • the locking lugs are directed from this side substantially at right angles to the lower part.
  • the lower part is provided with the locking recesses. These are extended over almost the entire inside of the lower part. Therefore, the insert can be moved in the depth direction and in the width direction, as well as pivoted in the armrest planes. This arrangement of the locking means thus allows all desired movements of the armrest.
  • the lower part of the armrest housing in the region of the connection of the armrest carrier with the insert is open.
  • This open window in a predetermined size of the range of motion is a danger because there is a squeezing opportunity for fingers.
  • a finger guard is advantageously provided, which is arranged so that the window is covered in the lower part by the finger guard.
  • Both link plates have link slots, which are at an angle to each other.
  • the first link plate have a guide slot aligned at right angles to the longitudinal extent of the armrest and cooperate with the second link plate, which is provided with a slot slot at an angle to the longitudinal extent of the armrest.
