Claims (21)

  1. Device for securing a back cover (6) to a middle part (28) of a watchcase (26), the back cover (6) having a screw thread (8) on its outer periphery, this device including an intermediate element (1) forcibly driven in the lower part of the middle part (28) of the watch (26), the back cover (6) being screwed via its screw thread (8) onto the intermediate element (1) which has, for this purpose, on its inner periphery, a complementary screw thread (12), this device being characterized in that this intermediate element (1) is capable of being forced to pivot with respect to the middle part (28) of the watch (26) to adjust the alignment of said back cover (6) with respect to the vertical 12 o'clock - 6 o'clock axis of said watch (26) when the back cover (6) is completely screwed onto this intermediate element (1).
  2. Securing device according to claim 1, characterized in that the intermediate element (1) includes a resilient blocking element (4) which is compressed transversely, and a metal element (2) which is arranged concentrically inside of the resilient blocking element (4), the back cover (6) being screwed onto the metal element (2) so that, when the back cover (6) is completely screwed onto said metal element (2), this metal element (2) can be forced to pivot by an angle of less than 360° with respect to the middle part (28) of the watch (26), by sliding on the resilient blocking element (4) which remains fixed up to a point where the metal element (2) abuts against said resilient element (4).
  3. Securing device according to claim 2, characterized in that the resilient blocking element (4) can be forcibly pivoted by an angle of less than 360° by sliding on the middle part (28) of the watch (26) and being driven to pivot by said metal element (2).
  4. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the alignment adjustment torque of the back cover (6) with respect to the vertical 12 o'clock - 6 o'clock axis of the watch (26), which is determined by the compression set of the resilient blocking element (4) is less than the screwing torque of said back cover (6) on the metal element (2).
  5. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the metal element (2) is able to pivot by an angle (α) with respect to the resilient blocking element (4) and in that said metal element (2) and said resilient blocking element (4) are able to pivot together by an angle (β) whose value is such that, when added to that of the angle (β) it produces a sum of 360°.
  6. Securing device according to claim 5, characterized in that the angle (α) is equal to 270° and the angle (β) is equal to 90°.
  7. Securing device according to any one of claims 6 or 7, characterized in that the resilient blocking element (4) has a first rim (22) in the shape of an arc of a circle arranged on its inner periphery and a second rim (24), also in the shape of an arc of a circle, arranged on its outer periphery which is complementary to that formed by the inner rim (22).
  8. Securing device according to claim 7, characterized in that the metal element (2) includes a snug (20) which projects from its outer periphery and which is able to pivot by the angle (α) along the inner rim (22) of the resilient blocking element (4).
  9. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 8, characterized in that the resilient blocking element (4) includes a base (51) which extends along its lower part and which is compressed between the metal element (2) and the middle part (28) of the watch (26) when the back cover (6) is screwed onto said metal element (2).
  10. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 9, characterized in that, in order to hold it axially, the resilient element (4) includes a projecting portion (52) which penetrates an opposite groove (54) arranged in the middle part (28).
  11. Securing device according to claim 10, characterized in that the groove (54) has a return portion (56) which overhangs the resilient element (4) and the metal element (2) so as to prevent the latter from moving axially upwards.
  12. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 11, characterized in that the metal element has on its outer periphery an annular shoulder (14) on the upper surface (16) of which a collar (18), which extends along the inner periphery of the resilient element (4) abuts.
  13. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 12, characterized in that, in order to facilitate the forcible introduction of the intermediate assembly (1) from the bottom of the middle part (28) of the watch (26), the resilient element (4) has over the entire length of its upper edge (46) located on the outer side of the watch (26), a sloping plane (48) which slides on a corresponding sloping plane (50) arranged in the lower part of the middle part (28).
  14. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 13, characterized in that the back cover (6) moves forward under the middle part (28) of the watch (26) so as to act as a support surface for the metal element (2) in order to prevent the latter from moving axially downwards.
  15. Securing device according to any one of claims 2 to 14, characterized in that the resilient blocking element (4) is able to abut against a pin (67) forcibly driven in the middle part (28) of the watch (26).
  16. Securing device according to any one of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the back cover (6) includes, on its outer surface (58) turned to the side of the wrist of the person wearing the watch (26), notches (60) which are used for introducing the studs of a chuck key.
  17. Securing device according to any one of claims 1 to 16, characterized in that an O ring (74) is inserted into an annular groove (76) made at the base of the middle part (28) to guarantee sealing between the back cover (6) and said middle part (28).
  18. Assembly method for a back cover (6) by means of the securing device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that, after the back cover (6) has been completely screwed in the clockwise direction onto the metal element (2), the assembly formed by the back cover (6) and the metal element (2) is pivoted in the anticlockwise direction in order to adjust the alignment of said back cover (6) with respect to the vertical 12 o'clock - 6 o'clock axis of the watch (26).
  19. Assembly method according to claim 18 depending of any one of claims 2 to 17, characterized in that the assembly formed by the back cover (6) and the metal element (2) is pivoted by at least a fraction of the angle (α) by sliding on the resilient blocking element (4) which remains fixed, and in that, if the back cover (6) is still not properly aligned with respect to the vertical 12 o'clock - 6 o'clock axis of the watch (26) when said assembly has pivoted by the angle (α), it drives to pivot the resilient blocking element (4), which slides on the middle part (28) by at least a fraction of the angle (β), which is the complement over 360° of the angle (α).
  20. Method according to any one of claims 18 or 19 depending of any one of claims 8 to 18, characterized in that the metal element (2) drives the resilient blocking element (4) to pivot via its snug (20) which abuts against said resilient element (4).
  21. Method according to claim 20, characterized in that, in order to unscrew back cover (6), the assembly formed by said back cover (6), the metal element (2) and the resilient blocking element (4), is pivoted in the anticlockwise direction until the resilient element (4) is immobilised against a pin (67) forcibly driven into the middle part (28) of the watch (26), the metal element (2) being immobilised in turn by abutting via its snug (20) against said resilient element (4), so that the back cover (6) can then be unscrewed.
