Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for non-detonative Removal of objects capable of detonation with own ignition system using an EFP charge that consists of a cylindrical shell with a bottom and a detonator, one Explosive charge and the charge on the detonator opposite, disc-like insert exists, which accelerates after the charge is ignited and is transformed into a projectile. The invention further relates to a use of the aforementioned device.
The removal of objects capable of detonation plays both in the military field, e.g. with weapons, but also increasingly in the civil field, for example terrorist Explosive charges or the like, an important role. Such objects are often due to the risk of detonation not by hand and also not with a suitable device remove. In such cases, usually only the fire remains using explosives from a suitable distance or with corresponding remote ignition.
A distinction is made between shelling in the military area between the so-called "high-order" and the "low-order" process. In the former case, the object is created using applied explosive charges or by bombardment with shaped charges detonatively disassembled with high jet velocity. This procedure is not applicable if detonative decomposition of objects, structures or people in the Environment could be endangered. In such cases comes only the "low-order" process in question.
Furthermore, EFP loads have already been proposed for clearing purposes Service. They consist of a cylindrical shell with a bottom and a detonator, an explosive charge and one covering the load on the opposite side, disc-like insert. After igniting the load the deposit is accelerated and at the same time becomes a projectile reshaped. Such EFP charges (US 4,982,676 A1) are used usually itself as a weapon, in which the high Penetration effect of the projectile is used. Will you used to remove objects capable of detonation, this inevitably leads to the detonation of the object itself.
In the "low-order" process, efforts are made to detonate Eliminate object in a deflagrative manner. Hiezu serve shaped charges, the shaped charge beam through the Object envelope penetrates into the explosive or even at all interspersed. The speed of the shaped charge must be be reduced so far that in the emerging Firing channel not a detonation, but only a deflagration, i.e. a chemical conversion of the explosive with gas evolution takes place in the firing channel. It must also be ensured be that the gas pressure is sufficiently fast and high rises so that the explosive device bursts open and in uniform Pieces is disassembled, the lack of mass or energy supply no longer detonate. This method sets a very exact adjustment of the shaped charge beam and thus the constructive one Construction to the conditions of the object (Thickness, shell material, type and mass of the explosive etc.), on the one hand the creation of a shot channel and deflagration and pressure build-up in the firing channel to ensure without first the ignition system of the object responds. This adjustment is extremely difficult and in many cases does not succeed, so that it does a detonation comes. The procedure is also unsuitable if there is a risk that the object crossing the object Hollow charge jet exiting the object onto parts that must be protected from destruction. This enforces at least one orientation of the shaped charge, in which such Parts of the shaped charge are not hit.
The invention has for its object a device for the non-detonative elimination of detonable Propose objects based on an EFP load.
This object is achieved in that the EFP load a barrier disc at a distance from its insert which has the projectile hitting it decelerates and forms an effect on the object Splinter cloud disassembled.
The invention proceeds from a substantially conventional one EFP charge off, but at a distance from the insert a barrier disc is arranged, which is used for a fan of energy provides. In the space between the insert and the barrier pane becomes essentially after ignition of the charge conventionally formed the projectile, which then hits the barrier disc and brakes becomes. The barrier disc is at least in the puncture area and at the same time a large part of the projectile Splinters disassembled and the impulse energy of the projectile gave up the splinters. A splinter cloud is created, the at a reduced speed compared to the projectile speed but with a wide area effect on the object incident. The fragments penetrate the shell and disassemble the object into fragments that can no longer be detonated. This process takes place in just a few microseconds is less detonative than the response time of conventional ignition systems Objects.
Practical research has shown that energy the splinter cloud within the object has broken down so far is that an impairment of parts in the direction of fire lie behind the object, barely enters or yourself can be kept within harmless limits. This is a non-detonative Removal of objects capable of detonation without significant influence on the immediate surroundings of the Possible. The object becomes largely mechanical disassembled. Even the resulting fragments only have a low energy content, also endanger the immediate area is not.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, material and The thickness of the insert and the explosive mass of the EFP on the one hand and material and thickness of the barrier pane and their Distance from the insert on the other hand on the type and Size of the object to be removed and its ability to detonate Mass matched.
With these parameters, primarily the decomposition of the projectile to the splinter cloud and the speed affect the splinter cloud.
Another parameter, in particular the impact speed the splinter cloud at a given exit speed is the distance between the EFP and the object, which is preferably adjustable. With this Setting can also be between the medium (air, water) the EFP load and the property are taken into account.
In an advantageous embodiment it is provided that the envelope the EFP load has a cylindrical one in the area of the insert Has extension whose inner diameter is matched to the outer diameter of the insert and the closed at the opposite end by the barrier disc is. The insert is preferably seated in one Impedance ring at the transition between the shell and the cylindrical Extension is arranged.
While the shell and the cylindrical extension are free are made of metal, for example made of plastic, the barrier disc is preferably made of metal, in particular made of steel or a non-ferrous alloy. As beneficial manganese alloys have been proven.
Because EFP loads are suitable for short-range fire are in the device according to the invention EFP charge preferably positioned near the object and with its axis aligned with the object.
When it comes to the side facing away from the direction of fire of the object to be removed, for example a support, to which the object is attached or only loosely to protect against the effects of the fire, it is recommended that the EFP charge with its axis under one Align angle to the support of the object, the Angle is preferably less than 45 °.
The device according to the invention is in particular for non-detonative disassembly of weapons, terrorist Explosive charges and mines, especially underwater mines, but most of all from mines on ship hulls suitable.
The invention is based on exemplary embodiments and test results are described.

Similar relationships can be seen from Fig. 4.1 to 4.3. In this case, a barrier disc was made from the same alloy, but with a thickness of 10mm. Finally, Fig. 5 shows that with a barrier disc 15mm thick, the remaining projectile is even smaller and the fragment cloud is more compact.
The type and size of the detonable object So the speed of the splinter cloud can be reduced through the material of the barrier disc and its thickness Taxes.
With the aforementioned arrangement and the 10mm 9 SMnPb 28 barrier disk, the influence of the length L R of the shell 3 (FIG. 1) on the residual velocity of the fragment cloud after the projectile had passed through the barrier disk was investigated, the free flight distance of the projectile in the shell corresponds to the remaining distance between the barrier disc and the insert.
Fig.6.1 zeigt
fast gleicher Geschwindigkeit v = 1.340m/s. Fig.7 zeigt die

m = 82g. Es wurde eine Barrierescheibe 9 SMnPb 28 mit 10mm
Dicke eingesetzt. Die Geschwindigkeit der erzeugten Splitterwolke
betrug v = 1.420m/s.In a further experimental arrangement, the disassembly of a

50mm. Fig.11 zeigt die vollständige Zerlegung des Minengehäuses
und seiner Füllung. Die Auftreffenergie der Splitterwolke
erzeugte an dem Stahlblech 16 von 6mm Dicke eine
Beultiefe B = 18mm. Fig.12 zeigt einen Versuch mit denselben
in vollständiger Auflösung begriffene Mine einschließlich
in kleinste Teile zerlegt, während vom Minengehäuse größere
stark verformte Teile übrig blieben.11 shows the result of an experiment with an inert filling
the steel shell of the mine, on a 6mm steel sheet
was mounted. The distance of the
