Abstract
Wäßrige Zusammensetzung, enthaltend ein mit Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid in Wasser dispergiertes Polymer (kurz PVA-Dispergiertes Polymerisat) und einen Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff.
Description
Mit Polyvinylalkohol stabilisierte Polymerisate zur Verstärkung der optimalen Aufhellung von Beschichtungsmassen.
Beschreibung
Die Erfindung betrifft eine wäßrige Zusammensetzung, enthaltend ein mit Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid in Wasser dispergier- tes Polymer (kurz PVA-dispergiertes Polymerisat) und einen Flu- oreszens- oder Phosphoreszens arbstoff .
Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung der Zusammensetzung als Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungsmasse, insbesondere als Papierstreichmasse oder Anstrichfarbe, im Textildruck oder als Additiv zu Waschmitteln.
Wäßrige Beschichtung- oder Imprägnierungsmassen enthalten häufig Fluoreszensfarbstoffe als optische Aufheller zur Verbesserung des farblichen Erscheinungsbilds der mit diesen Massen hergestellten Produkte. Es ist bekannt, die Wirkung von optischen Aufhellern durch Zusatz von wasserlöslichen Polymeren zu verbessern.
In der EP-A-624687 wird zu diesem Zweck auch Polyvinylalkohol genannt.
In der EP-A-44995 wird beschrieben, daß wasserunlösliche optische Aufheller mit Hilfe von Pfropfpolymerisaten des Polyvinylalkohols in Wasser dispergiert werden können.
Die Verwendung von Polyvinylalkohols als Schutzkolloid bei der Emulsionspolymerisation wird in EP-A-863163 und EP-A-627450 offenbart.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung war, die Wirkung von optischen Aufhellern zu verbessern, insbesondere gleich gute Wirkungen mit geringeren Mengen der optischen Aufheller zu erzielen.
Gleichzeitig sollen jedoch die anwendungstechnischen Eigenschaften der Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungsmassen nicht nachteilig beeinflußt, sondern, wenn möglich, weiter verbessert werden.
Insbesondere ist auch gewünscht, die Zusammensetzung und die Herstellung von Beschichtungs- und Imprägnierungsmassen zu vereinfachen, insbesondere die Zahl der notwendigen Bestandteile zu verringern.
Demgemäß wurde die eingangs definierte wäßrige Zusammensetzung und ihre Verwendung als Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungsmasse, im Textildruck oder der Additiv zu Waschmitteln gefunden.
5 Die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung enthält ein mit Polyvinylalkohol (PVA) als Schutzkolloid dispergiertes Polymer (kurz PVA- dispergiertes Polymerisat genannt) .
Unter PVA wird ein Polymer verstanden, welches zu mindestens 10 10 Gew. -%, insbesondere zu mindestens 20 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Polymer, aus Gruppen der Formel

welche sich von Vinylalkohol ableiten, besteht.
Üblicherweise werden Polyvinylalkohole durch Verseifung von Poly- 20 vinylestern, insbesondere Polyvinylacetat erhalten. Neben den von Vinylalkohol abgeleiteten Struktureinheiten können die PVA daher auch nicht verseifte, von Vinylester abgeleitete Struktureinheiten enthalten. Bevorzugt enthalten die PVA
25 30 bis 100 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt 50 bis 100 Gew.-% Gruppen der Formel I,
0 bis 70 Gew. -%, besonders bevorzugt 0 bis 50 Gew. -% von Vinylestern abgeleiteten Struktureinheiten und gegebenenfalls 30 0 bis 40 Gew. -% andere Struktureinheiten.
Vorzugsweise hat der Polyvinylalkohol eine Viskosität von 0,1 bis 100, insbesondere von 0,1 bis 30, besonders bevorzugt von 0,5 bis 8 mPas, gemessen an einer 4 gew. -%igen Lösung des Poly- 35 vinylalkohol in Wasser bei 20°C (nach DIN 53015) .
Die Herstellung der PVA- dispergierten Polymerisate kann durch Polymerisation von radikalisch polymerisierbaren Ausgangs - Verbindungen (Monomere) in wäßriger Phase in Gegenwart von PVA 40 erfolgen.
Vorzugsweise erfolgt die Polymerisation in Gegenwart mindestens um 0,5 Gew. -Teilen, besonders bevorzugt von mindestens 2 Gew. - Teilen, ganz besonders bevorzugt von mindestens 26 Gew. -Teilen 45 PVA, insbesondere mindestens 40 Gew. -Teilen PVA, bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Monomere. Im allgemeinen wird nicht mehr als 250 Gew.- Teile, vorzugsweise 150 Gew. -Teile PVA, besonders bevorzugt nicht
mehr als 100 Gew. -Teile, bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Monomere eingesetzt.
Üblicherweise wird das PVA in wäßriger Phase vorgelegt. Neben PVA können auch andere Schutzkolloide oder Emulgatoren verwendet werden.
Die Polymerisation kann entsprechend der allgemein bekannten Methode der Emulsionspolymersation erfolgen.
Die Monomeren können bei der Emulsionspolymerisation wie üblich in Gegenwart eines wasserlöslichen Initiators, des PVA und gegebenenfalls weiteren Schutzkolloide und Emulgatoren bei vorzugsweise 30 bis 140°C polymerisiert werden.
Geeignete Initiatoren sind z.B. Natrium-, Kalium- und Ammoniumpersulfat, tert . -Butylhydroperoxide, wasserlösliche Azover- bindungen oder auch Redoxinitiatoren, wie H02/Ascorbinsäure.
Zusätzliche Schutzkolloide und Emulgatoren sind z.B. Alkalisalze von längerkettigen Fettsäuren, Alkylsulfate, Alkylsulfonate, al- kylierte Arylsulfonate, alkylierte Biphenylethersulfonate, längerkettige Fettalkohole sowie die entsprechenden alkoxylierten Produkte der genannten Sulfate, Sulfonate und Alkohole.
Das PVA- dispergierte Polymerisat ist vorzugsweise aus den nachstehenden Monomeren aufgebaut. Die Gewichtsangaben beziehen sich jeweils auf die Gesamtmenge der Monomeren, aus denen das PVA-dis- pergierten Polymerisat aufgebaut ist.
Das PVA disperfierte Polymerisat kann als Bindemittel verwendet werden. Das PVA-dispergierte Polymerisat enthält als Bindemittel vorzugsweise sogenannte Hauptmonomere, ausgewählt aus Ci bis Cι6 Alkyl (meth) acrylaten, Vinylaromaten mit bis zu 20 C-Atomen, Vinylestern von Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen, Vinyl- halogeniden, ethylenisch ungesättigte Nitrile, nicht aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen mit einer oder zwei konjugierten Doppelbindungen oder Mischungen dieser Monomeren. Genannt seien z.B. (Meth) -acrylsäurealkylestern mit einem Cι-Cιo-Alkylrest, wie Methylmethacrylat, Methylacrylat, n-Butylacrylat, Ethylacrylat und 2-Ethylhexylacrylat .
Insbesondere sind auch Mischungen der (Meth) acrylsäurealkylester geeignet.
Als Vinylester von Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen kommen z.B. Vinyllaurat, -stearat, Vinylpropionat und Vinylacetat in Betracht.
Als vinylaromatische Verbindungen mit bis zu 20 C-Atomen kommen Vinyltoluol, α-Butylstyrol, 4-n-Butylstyrol, 4-n-Decylstyrol und vorzugsweise Styrol in Betracht. Beispiele für ethylenisch ungesättigte Nitrile sind Acrylnitril und Methacrylnitril .
Vinylhalogenide sind mit Chlor, Fluor oder Brom substituierte ethylenisch ungesättigte Verbindungen, bevorzugt Vinylchlorid und Vinylidenchlorid .
Als nicht aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe mit einer oder zwei kon- jugierten olefinischen Doppelbindungen seien Butadien, Isopren und Chloropren sowie Ethylen genannt.
Neben den Hauptmonomeren, kann das PVA stabilisierte Polymerisat noch weitere Monomere, z.B. Hydroxygruppen enthaltende Monomere, wie Hydroxyalkylacrylate oder Monomere mit Alkoxygruppen, wie sie durch Alkoxylierung von Hydroxygruppen enthaltenden Monomeren mit Alkoxyden, insbesondere Ethylenoxid oder Propylenoxid erhältlich sind, Monomere mit Säure- oder Anhydridgruppen oder deren Salze, z.B. (Meth) acrylsäure, Maleinsäure, Vinylsulfonsäure enthalten.
Bevorzugt besteht das PVA- stabilisierte Polymerisat zu mindestens 20 Gew. -% aus den Hauptmonomeren, besonders bevorzugt zu mindestens 35 Gew. -% und ganz besonders bevorzugt zu mindestens 50 Gew. -% .
Das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat kann auch als Verdicker verwendet werden.
Vorzugsweise enthält das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat bei der Verwendung als Verdicker mindestens 5 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt mindestens 15 Gew. -% besonders bevorzugt mindestens 30 Gew.-% Monomere mit mindestens einer Säuregruppe (kurz Säuremonomere) . Im allgemeinen enthält das PVA-dispergierte Polymerisat nicht mehr als 80 Gew-%, insbesondere nicht mehr als 60 Gew. -%, beson- ders bevorzugt nicht mehr als 50 Gew. -% der Säuremonomeren.
Im Falle der Verwendung als Verdicker kann das PVA dispergierte Polymer neben den Säuremonomeren insbesondere auch die oben beschriebenen Hauptmonomeren und weitere Monomere enthalten.
Die Säuregruppen des PVA-dispergierten Polymerisats werden im Falle der Verwendung als Verdicker vorzugsweise vor der späteren Anwendung zumindest teilweise neutralisiert. Vorzugsweise werden mindestens 30 mol.-%, besonders bevorzugt 50 bis 100 % der Säure- gruppen neutralisiert. Als Base eignen sich flüchtige Basen wie Ammoniak oder nicht-flüchtige Basen wie Alkalihydroxyde.
Das nach der Polymerisation erhaltene PVA- dispergierte Polymerisat kann, wenn gewünscht, leicht sprühgetocknet werden.
Dabei werden rieselfähige Polymerpulver mit dem oben angegebenen Gehalt an PVA- Schutzkolloid erhalten. Die Pulver sind in Wasser ohne weiteres redispergierbar, so daß die erfindungsgemäße wäßrige Zusammensetzung jederzeit wiederherstellbar ist.
Die erfindungsgemäße wäßrige Zusammensetzung enthält neben dem PVA-dispergierten Polymerisat einen Fluoreszens- oder Phosphor - eszensfarbstoff . Bevorzugt sind Fluoreszensfarbstoffe, insbesondere sog. optische Aufheller. Optische Aufheller sind Flu- oreszensfarbstoffe, welche den Helligkeitsgrad, bei weißen gestrichenen Papieren z.B. den Weißgrad, erhöhen.
Als optische Aufheller sind insbesondere Stilbenderivate bekannt.
Im vorliegenden Fall sind optische Aufheller mit einer Wasserlöslichkeit von mindestens, 1 g, insbesondere mindestens 5 g pro Liter Wasser (bei 20°C) bevorzugt.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung enthält die wäßrige Zusammensetzung neben dem als Schutzkolloid vorliegenden PVA auch noch PVA, welches in der wäßrigen Phase gelöst ist. Dieses zusätzliche PVA kann z.B. der wäßrigen Phase nach der Herstellung des PVA-dispergierten Polymerisats jederzeit zugesetzt werden.
Bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des in der wäßrigen Zusammensetzung enthaltenden PVA handelt es sich vorzugsweise bei 5 bis 100 Gew. -%, besonders bevorzugt 20 bis 100 Gew.-%, ganz besonders bevorzugt 30 bis 100 Gew.-% um PVA als Schutzkolloid im PVA disper- gierten Polymerisat und bei 0 bis 95 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt 0 bis 80 Gew. -% und ganz besonders bevorzugt 0 bis 70 Gew.-% um zusätzlich in Wasser gelöstes PVA. Insbesondere kann mehr als 50 Gew. -% der gesamten PVA-Menge oder die gesamte PVA-Menge als Schutzkolloid vorliegen.
Die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung kann für verschiedenste Anwendungszwecke Verwendung finden. Das PVA- dispergierte Polymerisat kann dabei z.B. als Bindemittel oder vorzugsweise als Verdicker dienen.
Die Zusammensetzung kann z.B als Additiv zu Waschmitteln gegeben werden oder als Hilfsmittel bei der Färbung von Textilien Verwendung finden.
Sie kann auch z.B. als wäßrige Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungsmasse, insbesondere als Papierstreichmasse oder Anstrichfarbe Verwendung finden.
Die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung verstärkt die Wirkung des Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoffes und bewirkt eine optische Aufhellung.
Der in der Zusammensetzung enthaltende Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff wird durch PVA aktiviert. Die Aktivierung und die sich ergebende optische Aufhellung ist im Vergleich zu wäßrigen Systemen, die PVA nicht als Schutzkolloid eines Polymerisats, insbesondere des Verdickers, enthalten, deutlich erhöht.
Je nach Anwendungszweck kann die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung weitere Bestandteile enthalten.
Im Falle der Verwendung als Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungs- masse enthalten die wäßrigen Zusammensetzungen insbesondere
a) gegebenenfalls ein oder mehrere Bindemittel
b) gegebenenfalls einen Verdicker
c) einen optischen Aufheller und
d) gegebenenfalls Pigmente und Füllstoffe
wobei zumindest ein PVA-dispergiertes Polymerisat als Bindemittel a) oder Verdicker b) in der Zusammensetzung enthalten ist.
Handelt es sich bei der Beschichtungsmasse um eine Papierstreichmasse oder Anstrichfarbe, sind vorzugsweise alle 4 Bestandteile a) bis d) enthalten.
Papierstreichmassen und Anstrichfarben enthalten ein oder mehrere Bindemittel a) wobei es sich vorzugsweise um radikalisch polyme- risierte Polymerisate handelt, die insgesamt vorzugsweise zu mindestens 30 Gew. -%, besonders bevorzugt zu mindestens 50 Gew. -%, aus den oben aufgeführten Hauptmonomeren bestehen. Bei Papier- Streichmassen handelt es sich dabei im allgemeinen um Cι-Cι6-Alkyl (meth) - acrylate oder deren Mischungen mit Vinylaromaten, insbesondere Styrol, oder alternativ um nichtaromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe mit zwei konjugierten Doppelbindungen, insbesondere Butadien, oder deren Mischungen mit Vinylaromaten, insbesondere Styrol.
Insbesondere bei Papierstreichmassen hat es sich als vorteilhaft erwiesen, Bindemittel unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzung zu kombi- nieren (Bindemittel und Cobindemittel) , wie es in EP 14904 beschrieben ist.
Als Verdicker b) kommen neben radikalisch polymerisierten Polymerisaten, übliche organische und anorganische Verdicker wie Hydroxymethylcellulose oder Betonit in Betracht.
Vorzugsweise handelt es sich bei dem Verdicker oder einem der Cobindemittel um das PVA-dispergierte Polymerisat.
Bei den Pigmenten oder Füllstoffen d) handelt es sich im Falle der Papierstreichmassen im allgemeinen um Weißpigmenten, z.B. Titandioxid. Bei Anstrichfarben kann es sich neben Weißpigmente um die üblichen Farbpigmente und Füllstoffe handeln.
Die erfindungsgemäße wäßrige Zusammensetzung hat im Falle ihrer Verwendung als Papierstreichmasse oder Anstrichfarbe vorzugsweise folgende Gewichtszusammensetzung.
Papierstreichmasse :
a) 1 bis 40 Gew. -Teile Bindemittel (fest, d.h. ohne Wasser)
b) 0,1 bis 10 Gew. -Teile Verdicker (fest, d.h. ohne Wasser)
c) 0,1 bis 5 Gew. -Teile Fluoreszens- oder Phospohoreszensfarbstoff,
d) bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile der Gesamtmenge der Pigmente und Füllstoffe.
Anstrichfarbe (hier sind Volumenangaben üblich) :
a) 20 bis 95 Volumen-Teile Bindemittel
b) 0,5 bis 10 Volumen-Teile Verdicker
c) 0,05 bis 5 Volumen-Teile optischer Aufheller.
bezogen auf
d) 100 Volumen-Teile der Gesamtmenge Pigmente und Füllstoffe.
Die Gesamtmenge des in der Beschichtungs- oder Imprägnierungs- masse, z.B. Papiestreichmassen mit Anstrichfarben, enthaltenden PVA beträgt vorzugsweise 0,05 bis 50 Gew., besonders bevorzugt 0,1 bis 5 Gew. -Teile PVA bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile der Gesamtmenge der Bestandteile a) bis d) . Die bevorzugte Verteilung auf PVA als Schutzkolloid und zusätzlich gelöstem PVA ist dabei wie oben angegeben.
Aus den obigen Mengenangaben der Bestandteile a) bis d) ergibt sich auch, daß die Menge des bei der Emulsionspolymerisation vorgelegten PVA davon abhängt, ob das erhaltene PVA dispergierte Polymerisat später als Bindemittel oder Verdicker eingesetzt wird. Im Falle des Bindemittels kann die in der späteren Beschich- tungsmasse gewünschte Menge PVA schon mit sehr kleinen Mengen PVA als Schutzkolloid erreicht werden, da die Bindemittelmenge viel größer ist als übliche Verdickermengen.
Bei den Beschichtungs- und Imprägnierungsmassen ist neben der verbesserten optischen Aufhellung auch eine gute Wasserretention zu beobachten. Diese verhindert eine zu schnelle Aufnahme des Wassers bei der Beschichtung saugfähiger Substrate, z.B. Papier.
Beispiele
A) Herstellung von Papierstreichmassen
I Grundrezeptur:
Eine Papierstreichmasse wurde aus folgenden Bestandteilen hergestellt:
70,0 Gew. -Teile des Pigments Hydrocarb 90, eine fein- teilige Kreide der Firma Omya GmbH, Brohler Straße 11a,
D-50968 Köln,
30,0 Gew. -Teile des Pigments Amazon 88, ein feinteiliger Clay der Firma Kaolin International B.V.,KAAI 54 DD, B-2030 Antwerpen (97,5%ig)
0,1 Gew. -Teile Natronlauge (25%ig)
0,3 Gew. -Teile Polysalz S der BASF Aktiengesellschaft, D-67056 Ludwigshafen (45%ig)
10,0 Gew. -Teile Acronal® S360D der BASF (50%ig) , ein
Bindemittel auf Basis von Acrylaten und Styrol
0,45 Gew. -Teile Blankophor® PSG von der Firma Bayer AG, D-5090 Leverkusen 1 (45%ig) , ein Sulfonat und Triazingruppen enthaltendes Stilbenderivat
Der Feststoffgehalt wurde mit Wasser auf 67 Gew. -% und der pH mit Natronlauge auf 8,9 - 9,1 eingestellt.
Zusatz eines Co-Bindemittels zur Grundrezeptur
a) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment, wurden 1,5 Gew. -Teile Aerosol® B 37 D (fest) , ein Polyacrylat der BASF zugesetzt.
b) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment wurden 1,5 Gew. -Teile
(fest) einer Mischung von Aerosol B37D und Polyvinylalkohol (PVA) zugesetzt.
Herstellung der Mischung:
300 g Aerosol B37D- 30%ig werden in ein 1 1 Becherglas gefüllt und mit einem Ankerrührer (120 Upm) bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Parallel dazu werden in einem separaten Gefäß 180 g eine 15 %igen Polyvinylalkohol (Moviol 4/88,
Hoechst AG 67 mPas-10%ig/pH 5, 3 -Lösung in entsalztem Wasser) unter leichtem Erwärmen hergestellt, in das 1 1 Becherglas zugegeben und 10 Minuten nachgerührt. Zum Stabilisieren werden 10 ppm des Bioeides Kathon LXE einge- rührt.
c) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment wurden 0,5 Gew. -Teile
(fest) eines mit PVA dispergierten Polymerisats zugesetzt.
Herstellung des PVA-dispergierten Polymerisats
In einer Rührapparatur, bestehend aus einem 2 -Liter -Vier ■ halskolben mit Blattrührer (180 Upm) , Rückflußkühler, In- nenthermofühler und Dosierstation, werden als Vorlage 556 g entsalztes Wasser (VE -Wasser) , 75 g Polyvinyl- alkohol (Moviol 4/88) und 1,25 g des Eisenkatalysators Dissolvine E-FE-13 (l ig) eingefüllt und auf 75°C erwärmt. Der Polyvinylalkohol löst sich während des Auf - heizens.
Dieser Lösung werden bei 75°C 5 ml einer 2 , 5%igen
Natriumpersulfatlösung zugegeben und die Mischung bei 75°C während 5 Minuten gerührt. Danach werden bei 75°C unter weiterem Rühren die Monomermischung (100 g Acryl - nitril, 100 g Ethylacrylat, 50 g Acrylsäure, 1,5 g ter- tiär Dodecylmerkaptan, 16,67 g Steinapol NLS (Natrium- laurylsulfat) und 240 g VE-Wasser), 45 g einer 2,5%igen Natriumpersulfatlösung und 47 g einer 0,8%igen Ascorbin- säurelösung (Lutavit C) während 3 Stunden gleichmäßig zudosiert. Anschließend wird die Reaktionsmischung noch 15 min. bei 75°C gerührt und danach auf Raumtemperatur gebracht. Bei Raumtemperatur werden 20 g einer 2 , 5%igen Wasserstoffperoxidlösung mit 20 g einer Lutavit C-Lösung während 1 Stunde gleichmäßig zudosiert. Man erhält eine wäßrige Polymerdispersion mit 25 % Feststoffgehalt .
Zusatz eines Verdickers zur Grundrezeptur
a) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment (fest) wurden 1,5 Gew. -Teile Sterocoll® PR 8749 X (fest), ein Ver- dicker auf Basis von Acrylaten zugesetzt.
b) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment wurden 0,3 Gew. -Teile eines PVA-dispergierten Polymerisats (fest) als Verdicker zugesetzt .
Herstellung des PVA-dispergierten Polymerisats
Der Versuchsaufbau entspricht dem unter IIc. Als Vorlage werden 730 g VE-Wasser und 90 g Rhodoviol R 4/20 (Rhöne- Poulenc GmbH 85 mPas-10%ig/pH 5,3) eingefüllt und auf
85°C erwärmt. Dieser Lösung werden bei 85°C 3,6 ml einer l%igen Natriumpersulfatlösung zugegeben und die Mischung bei 85°C während 5 Minuten gerührt. Danach werden bei 85°C unter weiterem Rühren die Monomermischung (100,8 g Ethylacrylat, 19,8 g Acrylsäure, 69,4 g Meth- acrylsäure, 0,18 g tertiär Dodecylmerkaptan, 6 g Steinapol NLS (Natriumlaurylsulfat) und 176 g VE-Wasser 32,4 g
einer l%igen Natriumpersulfatlösung während 2 Stunden und 43 g einer 0,25%igen Ascorbinsäurelösung (Lutavit C) während 2,25 Stunden gleichmäßig zudosiert. Anschließend wird die Reaktionsmischung auf Raumtemperatur gebracht . Bei Raumtemperatur werden zur chemischen Nachbehandlung 0,09 g Dissolvine E-FE-13 (l%ig) und 6 g einer 3%igen Wasserstoffperoxidlösung zugegeben. Danach werden 27 g einer l%igen Lutavit C-Lösung während 30 Minuten zudosiert. Man erhält eine wäßrige Polymerdispersion mit 20 % Feststoffgehalt.
c) Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment wurden 0,3 Gew. -Teile (fest) eines Gemischs aus PVA-dispergiertem Polymerisat und zusätzlichem PVA zugesetzt.
Herstellung des Gemischs:
Die Durchführung entsprach III b mit folgenden Änderungen:
Als Vorlage werden 802 g VE -Wasser und 54 g Polyvinylalkohol Rhodoviol R4/20 eingefüllt und auf 85°C erwärmt.
Nach Ende des Ascorbinsäurezulaufs werden zusätzlich 64 g Rhodoviol R4/20 zugesetzt und mit 50 g VE-Wasser nachgespült .
Zusatz eines PVA-stabilisierten Cobindemittels in Pulverform zur Grundrezeptur.
Bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile Pigment wurden 0,5 Gew. -Teile des Pulvers zugesetzt.
Herstellung des Pulvers
Die Herstellung erfolgte entsprechend IIc mit folgenden Änderungen:
Änderung :
Als Vorlage werden 732 g VE-Wasser und 50 g Polyvinylalkohol (Rhodoviol R8/20-Rhöne-Poulenc GmbH 179 mPas-10%ig/ph 5,6) eingefüllt und auf 75°C erwärmt. Die Monomerenmischung wird ohne Steinapol NLS (Natriumlaurylsulfat) zudosiert. Man er- hält eine wäßrige Polymerdispersion mit 25 % Feststoffgehalt, welche anschließend sprühgetrocknet wird. Das sprüh-
getrocknete Pulver hat eine Restfeuchte von ca. 2 % und ist unbegrenzt lagerstabil,
B. Beschichtung der Papiere und Prüfergebnisse
Herstellung des gestrichenen Papiers
Als Rohpapier wurde ein holzfreies Streichrohpapier der Firma Scheufeien GmbH + Co. KG, D-73250 Lenningen, mit einem Flächengewicht von 70 g/m2 verwendet. Der Auftrag der Papierstreichmasse erfolgte einseitig mit 12 g/m2 Trockenschichtdicke auf einer Laborstreichmaschine mit Blade. Die aufgetragene feuchte Schicht wurde mit IR- Strahlern getrocknet.
Bestimmung der Wasserretention nach Gradek
Gemessen wurde die Wasserretention im Druckfiltrations- gerät AA-GWR der Firma Abo Akademi-Gravimetric Water Retention, das von OY Gradek AB, Mariantie 9, SF- 02700 Kauniainen, Finnland, bezogen wurde. Als Filter diente eine Polycarbonat -Membran, 5,0 μm-Porengröße, 47 mm Durchmesser, 100/Pk der Firma Osmonics Inc., das von Infiltec GmbH, Alte Rheinhäuser Straße 8, D-67346 Speyer/ Rhein, bezogen wurde. Als Papier wurde Schwarzband-Fil - terpapier, aschefrei, 90 mm Durchmesser, von Schleicher & Schuell, Postfach 4, D-3354 Dassel verwendet.
Das Gerät wurde an eine Druckluftleitung angeschlossen und ein Druck von 4 bar eingestellt. Fünf zusammengeheftete und gewogene Filter wurden auf die Gummiplatte gelegt, wobei darauf zu achten ist, daß nach der Messung der 5. Filter noch trocken ist. Falls nicht ist auf 8 bzw. 10 zu erhöhen. Es folgt mit leichtem Überstand eine Polycarbonatmembrane sowie der Metalizylinder mit der Gummidichtung nach oben. Der Verschlußstopfen wurde mit dem Hebel geschlossen. Durch herausziehen des Druckeinstellungsknopfes wurde ein Druck von 0,5 bar eingestellt. Ca 5 ml. Papierstreichmasse wurde in den Metall - zylinder geben. Für 60 Sekunden wurden 0,5 bar Druck aufgelegt. Die nassen Filterpapiere wurden erneut gewogen. Die Feuchtigkeitsaufnahme wurde mit 1250 multipliziert. Das Ergebnis ist die abgegebene Menge Wasser in g/m2.
Je geringer die abgegebene Menge ist, desto besser ist die Wasserretention der Papierstreichmasse, (s. Tabelle 1) .
Bestimmung der optischen Aufhellung
Die optische Aufhellung wurde mit dem Spektralphotometer Elrepho 2000 von Datacolor GmbH (D-45769 Mari) bestimmt.
Die zu prüfenden Papiere wurden mindestens 4 -fach gestapelt. Pro Papierprobe wurden 5 Messungen durchgeführt.
Die in der Tabelle 1 angegebenen Wert sind ein Maß für die Aufhellung.
Je höher der Wert, desto stärker die Aufhellung.

Claims
1. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung, enthaltend ein mit Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid in Wasser dispergiertes Polymer (kurz PVA- dispergiertes Polymerisat) und einen Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff .
2. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekenn- zeichnet, daß der Polyvinylalkohol zu mindestens 10 Gew. -% aus Gruppen -H2C-CH(OH)- besteht.
3. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Polyvinylalkohol eine Viskosität von 1 bis 100 mPas hat, gemessen nach DIN 53015 an einer
4 gew. -%igen wäßrigen Lösung des Polyvinylalkohol bei 20°C.
4. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Herstellung des PVA disper- gierten Polymerisats durch Polymerisation der radikalisch polymerisierbaren Ausgangsverbindungen (Monomere) in wäßriger Phase in Gegenwart von 0,5 bis 250 Gew. Teilen Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid, bezogen auf 100 Gew. -teile der zu polymerisierenden Monomeren, erfolgt.
5. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, das das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat zu mindestens 5 Gew. - aus Monomeren mit einer Säuregruppe aufgebaut ist.
6. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, das das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat zu mindestens 20 Gew. -% aus Hauptmonomeren, ausgewählt aus Ci bis Cχ6 Alkyl (meth) acrylaten, Vinylaromaten mit bis zu 20 C-Atomen, Vinylestern von Carbonsäuren mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen, Vinylhalogeniden, ethylenisch ungesättigten Nitrilen, nicht aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen mit einer oder zwei konjugierten Doppelbindungen oder Mischungen dieser Monome- ren, besteht.
7. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat insgesamt zu mindestens 30 Gew-% aus Ci bis Cι6 Alkyl (meth) acrylaten und Vinylaromaten mit bis zu 20 C-Atomen oder deren Mischungen besteht.
8. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das PVA dispergierte Polymerisat zu mindestens 30 Gew. -% aus nicht aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen mit zwei konjugierten Doppelbindungen und Vinylaromaten mit bis zu
5 20 C-Atomen oder deren Mischungen besteht.
9. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff eine Wasserlöslichkeit größer 1 g pro Liter
10 Wasser bei 20°C hat.
10. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es sich bei dem Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff um einen optischen Aufheller handelt.

11. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, enthaltend
a) gegebenenfalls ein oder mehrere Bindemittel,
20 b) gegebenenfalls einen Verdicker
c) einen Fluoreszens- oder Phosphoreszensfarbstoff und
25 d) gegebenenfalls Pigmente und Füllstoffe
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zumindest ein PVA dispergiertes Polymerisat als Bindemittel a) oder Verdicker b) in der Zusammensetzung enthalten ist. 30
12. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es sich bei dem Verdicker um ein PVA dispergiertes Polymerisat handelt.
35 13. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 11 bis 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zusammensetzung 0,05 bis 50 Gew. -teile Polyvinylalkohol bezogen auf 100 Gew. -Teile der Gesamtmenge der Komponenten a) , b) , c) und d) enthält.
40 14. Wäßrige Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zusammensetzung 5 bis 100 Gew. -% als Schutzkolloid vorliegenden Polyvinylalkohol,
und
45 0 bis 95 Gew. -% im Wasser gelösten Polyvinylalkohol, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge Polyvinylalkohol enthält.
15. Verwendung der wäßrigen Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der An- 5 Sprüche 1 bis 14 als Beschichtungsmasse oder Imprägnierungs - masse.
16. Verwendung der wäßrigen Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14 als Papierstreichmasse oder Anstrichfarbe

17. Verwendung der wäßrigen Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14 als Additiv für Waschmittel
18. Verwendung der wäßrigen Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der An- 15 sprüche 1 bis 14 für den Textildruck
19. Mit einer wäßrigen Zusammensetzung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 0,5 bis 14 beschichtete oder imprägnierte Substrate
20 20. Verwendung von Polymerisaten, welche mit Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid in wäßriger Phase dispergiert vorliegen, (PVA dispergierte Polymerisate) zur optischen Aufhellung
21. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 20, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die 25 Herstellung des PVA dispergierten Polymerisats durch
Polymerisation der radikalisch polymerisierbaren Ausgangs - Verbindungen (Monomere) in wäßriger Phase in Gegenwart von 0,5 bis 250 Gew. -Teilen Polyvinylalkohol als Schutzkolloid, bezogen auf 100 Gew. -teile der zu polymerisierenden Monome- 30 ren, erfolgt.
22. Verwendung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 15 bis 21, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die wäßrige Zusammensetzung vor ihrer Verwendung mit einer Base ganz oder teilweise neutralisiert
