Abstract

The manhole cover consists of a frame (1) with a rim (11), an inner stop (12) and a hinge bar (4), and a panel (2) with an eyelet (3) to engage with the hinge bar. Claims (10)

  1. A device for closing an opening (O), comprising a frame (1) bordering the opening (O) and having a flange (11) and a rebate (12), a panel (2) having an external side (21), an internal side (22) and a thickness (23), the panel (2) being removable with respect to the frame (1) and rotatingly mounted on the frame (1) between an opening position, wherein it is standing up and giving access to the opening (O), and a closing position, wherein it is lying down and fits into the thickness of the flange (11) in order to be applied at least partially to an upper side (121) of the rebate (12) and close the opening (O), and hinge members (3, 4) comprising at least a hinge lug (3) adjacent to a hinge edge of the panel (1) and opening onto at least the thickness (23) of the panel (2), and a hinge pin (4) integral with a hinge edge of the frame (1), extending above the rebate (12) in parallel to the flange (11) and the rebate (12), and selectively engaged in the hinge lug (3) by mutually approaching the panel (2) in the open position and the frame (1), characterized in that it comprises a key (5) integral with the panel (2) and a first end (51) of which is, for the closed position of the panel (2), inserted under a lower side (122) of a strike portion (120) of the rebate (12) of the hinge edge of the frame.
  2. The closing device according to claim 1, characterized in that the key (5) is made removably integral with the panel (2).
  3. The closing device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the key (5) is integral with a first web (25), which is supported by the panel (2) and which is substantially parallel to the flange (11) formed by the frame (1) on the hinge edge thereof.
  4. The closing device according to claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the key (5) has a second end (52) remote from the first end (51) thereof, in that the first web (25) of the panel (2) has a bore (250), into which the key (5) is engaged by the second end (52) thereof until it meets a stop (6), in that the first and second ends (51, 52) of the key (5) are arranged on either side of the first web (25), and in that the second end (52) of the key (5) receives a transverse removable blocking member (7), such as a screw or a pin, which makes the key (5) captive between the stop (6) and the first web (25).
  5. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the key (5) is curved at the first end (51) thereof.
  6. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hinge pin (4) has at least one first free end (41) and one first connected end (42), and in that the first connected end (42) of the pin (4) is supported by a wall (13) of the frame (1) which is perpendicular to the flange (11) and the rebate (12) and linking them to one another.
  7. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hinge lug (3) opens onto the thickness (23) of the panel (2) through a first guide (31) allowing for the hinge pin (4) to go therethrough.
  8. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hinge lug (3) is blind, and in that it is hollowed out in a second web (26) of the panel (2) extending perpendicularly to the pin (4).
  9. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, in combination with claims 2 and 8, characterized in that the hinge lug (3) opens onto the internal side (22) of the panel (2) through a second guide (32) allowing for the hinge pin (4) to go therethrough in the closing position of the panel (2).
  10. The closing device according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rebate (12) extends mainly in a resting plane (P) and has an offset (129) by means of which the strike portion (120) thereof is raised towards the hinge pin (4) with respect to the resting plane (P).
