Description

The invention relates to a method for producing packs, in particular cigarette packs from blanks made by a continuous Material web of thin packaging material, such as paper, separated and folded, folding tabs being glued together get connected.

The gluing of folding flaps or other parts of the blanks is especially for high-performance packaging machines a particular problem. If the required glue in the Area of the packaging machine applied to the blanks, there is a risk of contamination of machine assemblies. It has already been suggested packaging material outside to coat the packaging machine with hotmelt type glue and the corresponding glue areas after completion activate the pack by applying heat. Is hot melt but has other disadvantages.

The invention has for its object measures for gluing of blanks for (cigarette) packs, in particular of paper, to propose through which the described Disadvantages are avoided and gluing outside of Packaging machine can be done.

  • To achieve this object, the method according to the invention for producing the packs is characterized by the following features:
  • a) the material web for the blanks is provided on both sides with glue areas, namely glue areas or glue points, in accordance with the folding tabs to be joined together,
  • b) the glue areas consist of a cold glue, which only in connection with a counter-glue surface produces the adhesion required for connecting the folding flaps or the like,
  • c) the glue areas are positioned in such a way that glue areas on one side of the material web, when wound, do not overlap with glue areas on the other side.
The method according to the invention and the design of the blanks for the production of soft cigarette packs in particular is based on the application of a novel, basic (Cold) glue known in glue technology, the the full adhesive effect due to its technological properties then generated when two corresponding glue areas, namely glue areas or glue points, lie against each other. Without a counter-glue area can be applied to a blank Glue area for connecting folding flaps or the like do not develop leading adhesive effect. That is why possible with material areas provided with glue areas from this glue to wrap without the wrapped layers against each other adhere, according to the invention by positioning the Glue areas are avoided that in the wound web Glue areas come together to cover or plant. In the following, the material web pulled off the bobbin becomes like this folded that the mutually assigned glue areas or Glue areas either come directly to cover or something are positioned that when folding one of the material web produced blank the corresponding glue areas cover each other. The corresponding folding can possibly also be made after the blank has been cut off from the material web.

The method according to the invention can be used particularly advantageously with (cigarette) soft packs accordingly US 5 762 186. In the type of packaging described there are strips of material together in the longitudinal direction of the material web connect and also double-layered folding flaps.

The technology according to the invention can also be used if separate cuts with each other or with a pack to be connected, especially when connecting Banderoles with (soft) packs.

In the drawings, the preferred application example is Design of a soft pack for cigarettes shown which are shown and described in detail in US 5,762,186 is. The pack according to FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of a blank made of paper or similar packaging material (Fig. 3, Fig. 5).

The cuboid packing forms a front wall 10, an opposite one Rear wall 11 and narrow, upright side walls 12 and 13. The side wall 13 is within the blank (Fig. 3) positioned between the front wall 10 and rear wall 11.

The side wall 12 consists of two overlapping and strip-shaped wall tabs joined together by gluing 14, 15.

Diese wiederum sind über dreieckförmige Zwickel 22 mit den zugeordneten Längslappen 18, 19 verbunden (Fig. 5).An end wall 16 and a bottom wall 17 each consist of several folding tabs partially overlapping each other, namely here according to the principle of envelope folding. The end wall 16 is made of two each adjoining the front wall 10 and rear wall 11, trapezoidal longitudinal lobes 18, 19. Cover these partially connected to the side walls 12, 13 Side tabs 20, 21. These are in turn triangular Gusset 22 connected to the associated longitudinal tabs 18, 19 (Fig. 5).

The bottom wall 17 is analogous to in this packing example End wall 16 formed so that the folding tabs of the bottom wall 17 are correspondingly provided with the same reference numbers.

Die Faltlinie 26 ist der Übergang von den aufrechten Packungswänden in die Stirnwand 16.Adjacent to the end wall 16, namely immediately below it, is the pack or the cut with a wraparound Double fold, with a Z-fold 23. This consists of two overlapping folding strips 24, 25 of the original cut (Fig. 3). These are delimited from one another by parallel fold lines 26, 27, 28. The Z-fold 23 is carried out in the region of the blank so that that the originally lower fold line 28 has an upper, outer one Folding edge of the Z-fold 23 forms while the middle fold line 27 covers the lower limit of the Z-fold 23 forms. The fold line 26 is the transition from the upright packaging walls into the end wall 16.

Furthermore, the area of the bottom wall is special 17 trained. The cut forms a double layer here Floor strips 29. For this purpose the cut is also in the floor area provided with three parallel fold lines 30, 31, 32, which belong to the bottom strip 29. The cut or the material web is folded over along the middle fold line 31, so that the double-layer floor strip 29 is formed. This is wider than the corresponding dimensions of the bottom side Folding flap so that there is a double-layer reinforcement strip 33 extends in the area of the upright pack walls. The the bottom wall 17 forming folding tabs 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 formed entirely from two layers of the blank.

To from a blank formed in the manner described (Fig. 5) to form a package, several glue connections are required. These are rectangular, square or approximate trapezoidal glue surfaces. This will be a special one Glue that creates the required adhesive effect, if the glue surfaces are positioned accordingly the cut parts to be connected lie next to each other. It deals is a special cold glue in which the each other assigned glue surfaces by abutting or pressing together effect the adhesive bond. The corresponding ones Glue areas can be different, each other have suitable components.

In order to ensure an adhesive connection with the material web, in particular to avoid paper web in the area of the glue surfaces, is this conveniently on the surface with a Apply glue-repellent coating. Alternatively or additionally can provide the glue surfaces with an outer coating be the targeted adhesive connection with the material web exclude.

In the present design of the pack, an unfolded Material web for forming blanks according to FIG. 3 in a precise position provided with the glue surfaces shown. The Blanks are within the material web (not shown) connected to one another via the wall tabs 14, 15. The so trained material web is wound into a bobbin. Of this is pulled off the material web and then with formation the Z-fold 23 and / or the double-layer floor strip 29 folded. The blanks according to FIG. 5 are then removed from the material web separated.

The material web is in its original state, i.e. in a flat state 3, provided with glue areas that described have technological properties.

To connect the two legs of the Z-fold 23, namely of the two folding strips 24, 25 are (small) glue areas 34 and 35 attached. These two glue areas are on same side of the material web or the cut, namely on the (printed) front. Because of the different Marking (hatching or cross hatching) is printed out brought that the two glue surfaces 34, 35 joined together are, so each other after folding the folding strips 24, 25 cover (Fig. 5). The glue surface 34 is for this purpose adjacent to the fold line 26 and the glue surface 35 adjacent positioned to fold line 28.

To connect the wall tabs 14, 15 to each other are glue surfaces 36, 37 in the upper region adjacent to the end wall 16 and Glue surfaces 38, 39 provided below adjacent to the bottom wall 17, at least with the one prepared for the formation of the pack Cutting according to FIG. 5. The mutually assigned (rectangular) Glue surfaces 36, 37 are on different sides of the Positioned cut, namely in the region of the wall tab 14 on the (unprinted) inside and on the wall cloth 15 on the Outside. Due to the Z-fold 23, the glue surfaces 36, 37 in the original position (Fig. 3) in the longitudinal direction of the blank or the material web is offset from one another. The glue surface 36 is located in the area of the folding strip 24. The glue surface 37 is below the Z fold 23 or arranged below the fold line 28. Due to the Z-fold 23 the two glue surfaces 36, 37 come to the same height or in the same (imaginary) transverse plane (Fig. 5). By dashed lines The circumferential line and hatching is expressed in the glue area 36 brought that this on the invisible inside of the blank is positioned. If the wall cloth is covered 14, 15, the glue surfaces 36, 37 are congruent with one another.

Similarly, the glue surfaces 38, 39 are in their original state, namely in the area of the unfolded cut according to Fig. 3 or a corresponding material web in offset Paths or planes of the material web positioned. The one (Outer) wall tab 14 associated glue surface 38 is on outermost edge of the blank in the area of the reinforcement strip 33 arranged. The other glue surface 39 is in the Area of the wall tab 15 above the fold line 30. Both Glue surfaces 38, 39 are originally (Fig. 3) on the same Positioned side of the blank or the material web. By the fold described to form the bottom strip 29 the glue surfaces 38, 39 in an aligned Position (Fig. 5), and that on the applicable for gluing Pages.

For connecting the (double-layered) longitudinal tabs 18, 19 of the bottom wall 17 are contoured approximately trapezoidal Glue strips 40, 41 as glue areas in the area of the reinforcement strip 33 attached. The two strips of glue 40, 41 are on different sides of the (middle) Fold line 31 of the reinforcement strip 33, directly adjacent to this fold line 31. The glue strips 40, 41 are originally on the same side of the blank or the material web (Fig. 3) arranged, namely on the front. After folding the reinforcement strip 33 along the fold line 31, the two strips of glue 40, 41 are placed in the same (imaginary) Brought to the transverse plane of the blank (Fig. 5). The reinforcement strip 33 is folded so that inner sides of the two layers lie together. This means that after the Bottom strip 29 of the glue strip 40 on the other side of the Cut compared to the glue strip 41. The two glue strips 40, 41 are now in a position in which at Folding the longitudinal tabs 18, 19 to form the bottom wall 17 the Glue strips 40, 41 cover one another (FIG. 2).

A special feature is that in the area of wound, original material web the corresponding ones Glue areas in different levels or paths (seen in the longitudinal direction of the material web). By Fold the web of material after pulling it off the bobbin the glue surfaces in the correct ones for the production of the pack Position considering the outside and inside of the Blank. The individual is made from the material web folded in this way Cuts cut off. The design and arrangement the glue areas described can also be separate when fixing Blanks can be used. In the drawings is as Example of the attachment of a usual band 42. It is about is a rectangular, strip-shaped blank, usually made of paper across the bulkhead 16 of the pack is placed, leg 43 on the front wall 10 and rear wall 11 are attached.

The peculiarity is that the banderole on the Back - side facing the pack - with glue areas is provided with correspondingly arranged glue areas the package or the cut correspond so that with With the help of overlapping glue areas, the band 42 is attached to the pack. In the present case it is Banderole with four glue areas or glue areas 44, 45, 46, 47 provided. These include appropriately trained and arranged glue surfaces 48, 49, 50, 51 on the blank or on the Pack. In the area of the pack or the cut is in each case a glue surface 48, 49 in the area of front wall 10 on the one hand and rear wall 11 on the other hand, below the Fold line 28, which has an upper edge in the finished pack forms the same. The further glue surfaces 50, 51 are located in the region of the longitudinal lobes 18, 19 of the end wall 16 an attachment of the band 42 possible in such a way that this with two glue areas in the area of the end wall 16, namely with the glue surfaces 45, 46 of the band 42 and the glue surfaces 50, 51 of the longitudinal tabs 18, 19 are attached. In the area of the front wall 10 and rear wall 11 are the glue surfaces 44 and 47 of the band with the glue surfaces 48 and 49 connected.

      a) the material web is provided on both sides with adhesive areas which correspond to the folding tabs to be bonded, i.e. with adhesive surfaces (34..39; 48..51) or with spots of adhesive,
      b) said adhesive areas consist of a cold adhesive, which provides the adhesion required for bonding said folding tabs only when in conjunction with a corresponding facing adhesive area, however which does not directly adhere to the material web,
      c) said adhesive areas are positioned so that the adhesive areas on one side of the material web do not overlap the adhesive areas on the other side of the material web when rolled up.
    2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that at least said adhesive areas and/or the material web are provided with a coating reducing the adhesive effect of the adhesive directly on the material web.
    3. The method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said adhesive areas on one side of the material web are transversely offset from the adhesive areas on the other side of the material web, i.e. in webs or planes offset relative to one another.
    4. The method according to claim 1 or any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said unfolded material web with adhesive areas on both sides is drawn off from a bobbin, and continuously folded longitudinally, thereby forming in particular a Z-shaped fold (23) and/or a two-layered strip (29) on the bottom, with the associated adhesive areas offset from one another by said transverse folding being positioned relative to each other such that the cut-outs subsequently separated lead to an overlap of adhesive areas for folding tabs by folding.
    5. The method according to claim 1 or any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that special cut-outs, in particular a band (42) is attached to said package by corresponding adhesive areas, in particular by adhesive areas on the front wall (10), the back wall (11), and the end wall (16) on the one hand, and by corresponding adhesive areas on the inner side of the band (42) on the other hand.
