Definitions
- the invention relates to saddles for horses and relates to a tree and a saddle with such a tree.
- a horse saddle conventionally comprises, assembled together a piece of resistance called a tree, a seat, two stirrup knives or stirrup holder, two panels, two quarters and false quarters, and counter straps; and removable removable elements, straps, surcingles, stirrups and stirrups.
- the tree is made up of several pieces assembled together, namely two longitudinal pieces of wood, two curved parts respectively forming the pommel and the cantle, generally in the form of a metallic flat iron, connecting the longitudinal parts wooden and rigidly attached to them; straps placed on the pieces previous; and finally a canvas fixed over the straps.
- Others component parts of the saddle are fixed to the tree by nailing, sewing or analogous, that is to say by means of permanent fixing.
- Document DE 37 02 011 describes a tree which includes a piece of plastic and a kind of frame attached to the plastic part removably, supporting the other constituent parts of the saddle.
- Document DE 2 329 436 relates to a cellular plastic material.
- the document GB 2 227 638 relates to a conventional type saddle, one of which piece is made of plastic.
- a first object of the invention is a tree intended for the realization a saddle, especially for horses, comprising a one-piece piece of resistance forming pommel, cantle, seat and support for others constituent parts of the saddle.
- the tree essentially comprises the single piece, which is made of materials, such as composite materials, chosen for their ability to conform to the shape desired for the tree, to confer to the tree the qualities of resistance and flexibility required and to be ensured the incorporation into the peripheral part of the resistance part of a plurality removable positioning and fixing elements, other parts components of the saddle (panels, quarters, false quarters, girths, udders, seat, small quarters, against pommel plates and troussequin ”) in the form of holes, crampons, hollow reserves, reliefs, screw inserts, loops or the like, so that said component parts of the saddle are positioned and fixed to the part thanks to the organs.
- materials such as composite materials
- Another object of the invention is a saddle, especially for horses, comprising a tree essentially comprising the one-piece piece of resistance provided with removable positioning and fixing elements any as well as two stirrup knives incorporated or not in the piece monobloc of the tree, two panels fixed against the internal face of the tree, the if necessary, one or more pieces of padding on the external face of the tree, two quarters and two false quarters arranged laterally, two girth straps arranged laterally towards the pommel and a part forming a seat covering the external face of the tree, the panels, the piece or pieces of padding, quarters and false quarters, girths and part forming a seat being provided with complementary removable fixing members positioning and fixing members incorporated in the tree piece.
- a direction “longitudinal” is substantially confused with the direction of the backbone of the horse.
- the "front” indicates a location towards the head of the horse, and the “rear", a location towards the rump.
- a “transverse” direction is substantially horizontal and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
- the term “laterally” is defined relative to this direction.
- a direction of elevation is substantially vertical and perpendicular to the longitudinal and transverse directions.
- up” and “down” are defined with respect to this direction. The interior indicates a location close to the horse's body and the outside a location more distant.
- the small districts 10, the districts 5 and false districts 6, all lateral, are superimposed from the outside of saddle 1 towards the inside, i.e. towards tree 2.
- Seat 9 covers tree 2, being held on it in particular using the counter-plates of the pommel 11 and of the cantle 12.
- the saddle 1 rests on the horse's back via the 4 fixed panels laterally inside the tree 2.
- the configuration of the saddle 1 household for the backbone of the horse a longitudinal passage, under the tree 2 and between the panels 4, so that no component of saddle 1 does not come into contact with the spine. it also allows to distribute the effort due to the weight of the rider on the horse's back, while attenuating it.
- Tree 2 ( Figures 4 to 8), consists essentially of a single piece 13 forming the pommel 14, the cantle 15, the seat 16, as well as a support for other components of the saddle 1.
- This monobloc piece 13 is made of a composite material such as a resin filled with carbon fibers and / or glass fibers, a material comprising polyamide fibers, or the like.
- the part 13 also incorporates elements of stiffening, such as a wire structure, a sheet, a metal network or analogous, intended to constitute a reinforcing reinforcement.
- elements of stiffening such as a wire structure, a sheet, a metal network or analogous, intended to constitute a reinforcing reinforcement.
- stirrup knives 3 are separate parts of the monobloc part, and are fixed on the latter of removably, towards the knob 14.
- the stirrup knives 3 are then made of a rigid material and resistant, for example made of metal. Each stirrup knife 3 is intended for support an extreme part of stirrup tree, each stirrup tree supporting itself a stirrup.
- the stirrup knives 3 have an elevation shape general longitudinal in L.
- the part 13 incorporates manufacturing the stirrup knives 3, the general shape of which is the same as that described previously.
- the tree 2 essentially comprises the part 13.
- the general outline of tree 2 is generally close to the outline of a tree classic.
- the tree 2 has substantially the shape of a gutter whose concavity is facing down.
- its profile has a generally curved shape, concavity turned upwards.
- the tree 2 Near its front end, the tree 2 includes an arch 17 of pommel, extended substantially in a transverse elevation plane and extended by two tree points 18 forming protrusions of tree 2, from top to bottom, substantially in an elevation plane longitudinal. These points 18 are intended to cooperate with the panels 4, to ensure their positioning on tree 2.
- tree 2 Near its end rear, tree 2 comprises a cantle 15, substantially extended in a transverse elevation plane, and projecting from tree 2 upwards.
- the cantle 15 is of substantially rectangular shape.
- the arch 17 and the cantle 15 aim to wedge the rider in the seated position, by limiting the movements of his pelvis respectively towards the front and towards the rear. They are interconnected by a seat 16 of flared shape from front to rear, this seat therefore being narrower transversely to front and back (Figure 4). This shape makes it possible to standardize the distribution the weight of the rider on the horse's back, while sparing the front of tree 2 a space for the rider's legs.
- the arch 17, the cantle 15 and the seat 16 can take other forms than those described without departing from the scope of the invention, provided that they ensure including the functions described above.
- the yoke 11 and cantle 12 plywoods are parts made of synthetic materials, for example composites or the like, of which the shapes are respectively complementary to the arch 17 and the troussequin 15.
- the tree 2 On its internal face, the tree 2 comprises at least one extra thickness 19, in particular two, extended longitudinally along the longitudinal edges 20 of the tree and / or the seat, and of cross section substantially in T shape.
- the extra thicknesses 19 extend substantially over the entire length of the tree 2. Their upper edges 19A are substantially straight and parallel to each other, while their edges lower 19B substantially follow the contours of the tree.
- the extra thicknesses 19 have come from material with the one-piece 13.
- the extra thicknesses 19 are distinct from the one-piece part 13.
- the extra thicknesses 19 are then added under the one-piece part 13 and fixed to the latter by screwing, snap-fastening, or the like.
- the materials used for making the extra thicknesses 19 can then be identical, or separate from those used for the production of the one-piece part 13.
- the extra thicknesses 19 can be made of materials rigid, semi-rigid or flexible, such as polymers, elastomers, metal, composite or similar materials, or in a combination of such materials.
- the extra thicknesses 19 aim in particular, by cooperating with the panels 4, to cut along the internal face of tree 2, and in its central part, a passage 19C for the horse's backbone. They also aim to ensure the positioning of the panels 4 on the tree 2.
- Each panel 4 is here a molded rubber piece, of foam polymer or the like, covered in leather, substantially S-shaped longitudinally, and the front part of which is reinforced by a reinforcement wood or equivalent.
- two panels 4 are provided, each being intended to cooperate with an additional thickness 19. These panels 4 are fixed to the tree 2 of removably, by screwing, snap-fastening or the like. As it appears in Figures 10 and 11, the upper face of a panel 4 is shaped complementary to the corresponding extra thickness 19 of tree 2.
- Each panel 4 further comprises longitudinal lips respectively upper 4A and lower 4B whose shape is substantially complementary respectively to the upper edges 19A and lower 19B of the extra thicknesses, in order to ensure the positioning and the maintenance of the panel 4 on tree 2.
- Each panel 4 defines at the front of the saddle 1 an advance in the extension of tree 2, to ensure between saddle 1 and horse maximum internal contact area.
- Another function of the extra thicknesses 19 is to allow the tree 2- to know part 13- to incorporate positioning and fixing members removable 21 from the other component parts of the saddle 1. These members 21 give tree 2 - namely part 13 - a "common core" function for the adaptation of saddle 1 to this or that type of riding and from a same tree 2.
- the organs of positioning and fixing 21 are in the form of at least one recess 22, 22A, 22B, 22C.
- Such a hollow reserve 22A of substantially rectangular shape is formed in the thickness of each longitudinal edge 20 of the seat 16, in particular towards the front of tree 2 and on its external face.
- a housing 23 in the form of a vertical T is hollowed out at the bottom of the reserve 22A.
- the upper end of the housing 23 is located substantially halfway up of the hollow reserve 22A, while its lower end is combined with the longitudinal edge 20 of the tree.
- the shape of the housing 23 is appreciably complementary to an upper end part of the girth straps 7.
- the mounting of the girth straps 7 in such a hollow reserve 22A is performed as follows.
- stirrup knives 3 are distinct from the tree 2 and reported, another hollow reserve 22B is provided in each pommel point 18, to cooperate with an end part of a knife of stirrup leather.
- the stirrup knives 3 are then fixed to the tree 2 in this reserve 22B by removable fixing means such as screwing or similar.
- Another hollow reserve 22C is provided in the thickness of each longitudinal edge 20 of the seat 16, in particular in its middle part, for cooperate with an extreme part of districts 5 and false districts 6.
- This reserve 22C also has a substantially rectangular shape longitudinally.
- Districts 5 and false quarters 6 include end portions whose shape is substantially complementary to such reserve 22C ( Figures 16, 17).
- Quarter 5 and false quarter 6 are fixed in this hollow recess 22C by removable fixing means, such as screwing, reciprocal fastening strips known under the brand registered Velcro ®, or the like.
- the same reserve 22 is intended to cooperate with an end part of a counter-strap 7 and a hooking rod 24 of the latter, with an extreme part of a quarter 5 and a false quarter 6 and / or an end part of a stirrup knife 3, this reserve 22 being then closed by a single plate 25, by removable fixing means such as screwing, snap-fastening or the like.
- the plate 25 forms a stirrup knife. She is then substantially U-shaped with a branch serving as a knife of stirrup leather.
- the depth of the reserve (s) 22, 22A, 22B, 22C, measured in the thickness of the tree 2, is such that once mounted the stirrup knives 3, quarters 5 and false quarters 6, the girth straps 7 and the one or more plates 25, the outer surfaces of these parts are flush with the top surface of tree 2. This aims to guarantee optimal comfort for the rider, avoiding the superposition of constituent parts of the saddle 1 does not cause uncomfortable and unsightly protrusions on the latter.
- udders 8 are made of foam, rubber or similar. They have a generally rectangular outline, and are extended in a substantially horizontal plane. Their thickness is not uniform: their lower face indeed marries the upper face of the seat 16 opposite.
- the shape of the udders 8 is such that once they are in position on tree 2, their upper surface is substantially continues with the upper surface of tree 2. Their outer contour substantially matches the shape of the longitudinal edge 20 of the tree 2, opposite.
- the shape and material of the udders 8 can be adapted to the morphology and requirements of the rider.
- the udders 8 include three rigid lugs 26 of wood, plastic or the like, shaped substantially cylindrical, projecting from the underside of the or each udder 8.
- the tree 2 is provided, near its longitudinal edges 20, towards the rear of the seat 16 with three holes in each longitudinal edge, each hole 27 being substantially complementary to a lug 26.
- the teats 8 are held in position on tree 2 using Velcro ® type bands.
- the teats 8 are held on the tree 2, in particular by the seat 9, when the latter is fixed to the tree over the teats 8.
- the seat 9 is provided, on the underside and along the periphery of the arch 17, with a plurality of studs 28A, here cylindrical and metallic, projecting of and substantially perpendicular to this face.
- the cantle 15 is also provided, on its outer face, and the along its upper periphery at least, such studs 28B, projecting from and substantially perpendicular to this face.
- tree 2 is provided on its underside, substantially on each from its longitudinal edges and towards the rear of the seat 16, at least one loop 29, in particular three loops.
- the loops 29 are fixed to the tree 2, for example screwed, the main direction of each loop then being substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal edge 20 of the tree 2.
- the or each loop 29 is articulated around an axis 30 substantially parallel to the longitudinal edge 20, this axis allowing the loop 29 to take two positions, a closed position and an open position.
- Each loop 29 is inserted into a recess 31 provided in the allowance 19 corresponding to tree 2, so that once closed, the loop does not not protrude from the hollow 31, inwards.
- the seat 9 is a piece of leather whose shape is such that it covers fully tree 2, once positioned on the latter, the front parts 9A and rear 9B of the seat being wider than its middle part 9C.
- the front part 9A of the seat 9 defines, on either side laterally, two small quarters 10 forming growths.
- a mattress 32 of foam, rubber or equivalent is fixed on the face bottom of seat 9, by sewing, gluing or the like.
- This mattress 32 of flared shape from front to back, aims to improve the comfort of the saddle. he covers substantially the entire rear part 9B of the seat 9, while it covers, on the front part 9A of the seat 9, a surface located between the small quarters 10.
- At least one (in particular three) hook 33 is fixed to the seat 9 by riveting or similar, in its rear part 9B, on its underside and close to each of its longitudinal edges.
- the or each hook 33 is complementary to a loop 29.
- the front end 34 of the seat, shaped complementary to the arch, is provided with holes 35A complementary to the crampons 28A.
- the rear end 36 of the seat 9 is also provided with such holes 35B, complementary to the studs 28B of the cantle 15.
- the seat 9 may include in its middle part, for example near each of its longitudinal edges, latching means 37 capable of cooperate with holes 38 provided opposite in the seat of the tree 2, so in particular to optimize the positioning and fixing of the seat 9 on the tree 2.
- the mounting of the seat 9 on the tree 2 is carried out as follows.
- the seat 9 is positioned on the tree 2, the holes 35A, 35B and the hooks 33 being respectively placed opposite the studs 28A, 28B and the 29 open loops of the tree.
- the front end 34 of the seat 9 is folded under the yoke 17, each clamp 28A being inserted into a hole 35A.
